Shane Vaughn Teaches: The Dark Side of the Year - Holidays Explained - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9POMMhcFm4 Transcript: (00:00) I'm Shane Von with first Harvest Ministries and I want to wish you shabbat shalom may the blessings of our God be upon you and your family I want to speak to you just a moment this evening about uh the season that we are experiencing right now I'm making this video in the month of November getting Mighty close to the month of December I'm sure if you step outside of your home around 5:00 in the evening you'll begin to notice that it seems to be midnight in the middle of the day we are in the what is really referred to as the dark side of the (00:47) year and all of my life when I was growing up in the church we really did not pay attention to Seasons um nature we didn't really EXP exp it uh as I've began to do as of late but there was a group of people for out throughout history uh since time IM Memorial that indeed noticed nature they're commonly referred to as pagans or Druids or wicens witches whatever name you choose to give them them uh naturist Earth lovers but they are very cognizant of the heavenly bodies they're very cognizant of sons and moons and Seasons (01:48) actually they're most cognizant of the creation more than the Creator these people for ages have based their religion and their faith on the elements Earth Wind Fire and Water they've based their religion upon the changing of the Ule tide season and these people have always acknowledged the creation while ignoring and not giving off honor to the Creator himself which is Yahweh the almighty God of Israel now the reason that I want to talk to you about these folks is I'd like for you to travel back in time with me for just a few (02:48) moments I would like for you to leave the world that we live in today the world of Google and the world of video casting and podcasting the world of satellites the world of NASA the world of electronic communication media and I'd like for you to drift back with me to a time and a place of people that did not know the things that we know now if we were to go back to ancient Egypt or ancient Babylon or ancient Sumeria we would find a people that began to form a religion in opposition to uh God himself and it was (03:41) a religion that focused upon nature they began to notice patterns of the seasons and every year they became students of the Stars studiers of the moon and the traj the trajectory of the moon and the pattern of the sun they followed it vehemently to the point of worship and adoration the son became their God the moon became their mother the Stars became the dictators of the course of their life this developed into what we know as astrology it developed veloped into Wicked religions Pagan religions but the entire (04:36) religion is literally focused upon these seasonal adjustments well they begin to notice that every 12 months every year the son which in their mind was God that the sun always beamed bright and the sun was always the chief God the Zeus uh he was the uh Hercules of the heavens the sun was the ruler of the Gods and so the sun became uh their baale their preeminent God and that God was always Victorious ious over the night or the moon the sun was always the champion it blazed throughout the day (05:41) keeping at Bay the darkness and Shining upon the Earth it's forever raised and the people noticed all of these Mane changes and then around the month of October they begin to see something that alarmed them in their Simple Minds see they did not have satellite imagery to know what was going on they didn't understand the constellations and the heavenly bodies scientifically they understood them religiously but they did notice that on one certain night of the year that the Sun began to die they noticed that the moon (06:36) the darkness rather begin to overtake the light and this night was what is called saen or All Hallows Eve or in the English tongue Halloween it was the night when the darkness conquered the sun because it is on Halloween night when indeed the night is a few moments longer than the day and every day after that the darkness begins to win longer nights longer nights to where there's almost no daylight left it's a short days and the Sun is dying do you see that these pagans begin to notice the death of the sun they notice (07:37) that it was dying and dying and dying and therefore on a Halloween night that's why it's called the night of the dead it is when death begins to rule over the planet now from that day forward darkness is upon the land look outside of your homes right now if you're viewing this video during the winter season and you will begin to notice the dying Sun it was on Halloween night that the son God was harmed or killed and the Earth began to die because her God had died but every year they also noticed that on one certain day of the year the (08:33) sun began to rule again the strength come back to the sun and the Darkness yielded to the sun god actually they say it was the day every year that the son was reborn he was reborn every year and they began to celebrate this rebirth or this birth of the son God now ladies and gentlemen you will not believe me if I tell you what day of the year that that son God was born absolutely you see December the 25th is the day when the Sun or the day be it's the shortest night of the year it's when the Sun is reborn as a matter of fact on (09:32) December the 25th is when 25 other gods claim their birthday because their uh Affinity with the son now I won't go on with what happens next but you should educate yourself if you ever did you might see why we refuse to celebrate December the 25th as the birth of yua that man that walked the Judean Hills no other man ever lived like him he was born son of man and by his be by his flesh birth and Son of God by his resurrection he has no Affinity with December the 25th if you celebrate his birth on December the 25th you have (10:27) joined in with the pagans in celebrating the birth of the son the son God so when the Roman Catholic Church began to invade these pagan people they could not get them to change their Customs so if you can't beat them you join them you adopt their Christmas trees you adopt their wreaths if you don't know that paganism is one of the most sexual religions on the planet everything about paganism is sexual in nature the Christmas tree is a sexual emblem yes just do your research the wreath on the front of the door is the (11:15) opposite sexual symbol without me getting too graphic and then every year the pagans would bring the tree past the wreath for the you see it is an Abomination to the almighty Yahweh do you know he told us in his word to not learn the Customs the celebrations or the ways of the Heathen so the Catholic Church christened December the 25th as the birth of our Lord but it's all lies every bit of it is lies to celebrate that day is to celebrate a a lie no matter what you think in your heart no matter what you believe that day represents we know what (12:09) it represents and it does not represent the birth of our Lord how do we know this because we know exactly when our Lord was born we know when yua many know him as Jesus was born he was born on the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles and that is what we celebrate the church the Apostolic Church of God the Church of the Living Yahweh is a people that have made up their minds we want nothing to do with those Pagan ways we've come out of that and dedicated Our Lives to walking in the ways of Yahweh did you know before I (12:58) close that I as one of those weird ones that follow these original ways of Israel I can open this book that hold that I hold in my hand and did you know that I can point at a scripture in this book to prove every holiday or holy day that our family and our ministry celebrates did you know that did you know if you ask me about about the Feast of Passover or the Feast of atonement and why I celebrate do you know I can turn to scripture and verse where Yahweh the almighty God commanded us to celebrate that holy day forever I can do (13:45) that so I have a question for you now can you do the same can you open your Bible right now and point to a command in the Bible of why you celebrate your holidays can you point anywhere and show me Marty Gro can you point anywhere and show me Valentine Day can you point anywhere and show me Easter can you point anywhere and show me Christmas can you point anywhere and show me your New Year's Day no I'll answer it for you nowhere all of your holidays are made of men commanded of men that find their roots in the enemy religion of your (14:34) God but I can point to the verse to C to show you why I celebrate the holy days that my Christian friends mock me for and yet every one of them find their origin in the word of God where do your holidays find their origins in the p practices of Witchcraft and paganism I pray that this video has at least caused you to ponder go to our website first harvest church. Summary

In this teaching, Shane Vaughn examines what he calls the dark side of the year, focusing on the seasonal transition from autumn into winter and its alleged relationship to the origins of modern holidays. He begins by describing the noticeable reduction in daylight during November and December. He explains that ancient civilizations closely observed the movements of the sun, moon, and stars and developed religious beliefs around these natural patterns. Vaughn identifies ancient Egyptian, Babylonian, and Sumerian cultures as examples of civilizations that practiced forms of nature worship. He argues that their religious systems elevated the creation above the Creator and associated divine power with the heavenly bodies. He then describes the seasonal shortening of daylight as an event that ancient pagan communities supposedly interpreted as the weakening or death of the sun god. He connects this interpretation to Samhain and Halloween, describing the celebration as a symbolic acknowledgment of darkness overcoming light. The teaching then moves to December 25. Vaughn claims that ancient pagan religions associated this date with the rebirth of the sun god and that numerous pagan deities were believed to have been born on that date. He argues that the Roman Catholic Church adopted December 25 as the celebration of Christ's birth in order to accommodate existing pagan customs. He also associates Christmas trees and wreaths with pagan religious symbolism. Vaughn strongly rejects the observance of Christmas as the birthday of Yeshua. He teaches instead that Yeshua was born on the first day of the feast of tabernacles. He appeals to the biblical prohibition against adopting the customs of pagan nations, emphasizing that believers should not participate in religious practices he considers incompatible with the worship of Yahweh. The final portion of the teaching contrasts biblical holy days with modern secular and Christian holidays. Vaughn challenges listeners to identify direct scriptural commands authorizing celebrations such as Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, Mardi Gras, and New Year's Day. He argues that these holidays originate in human tradition rather than divine commandment. He contrasts them with Passover, the day of atonement, and the feast of tabernacles, which he presents as celebrations explicitly established by Yahweh. The sermon concludes with an appeal for believers to abandon what Vaughn calls Babylonian religious traditions and return to the original ways of Israel. He encourages viewers to study the biblical festivals further through First Harvest Ministries and mentions his booklet Trading Santa for the Sukkah as an additional resource.

Core doctrine

Shane Vaughn teaches that Yahweh's people are commanded to reject the religious customs of pagan nations and return to the holy days established in Scripture. He presents the observance of biblical festivals as an essential distinction between worship directed toward the Creator and religious traditions originating in the worship of creation. He teaches that ancient pagan religions developed around the observation and worship of the sun, moon, stars, and seasonal changes. According to his interpretation, these religions established celebrations connected with the apparent decline and return of the sun during the darker months of the year. He identifies Halloween and Christmas with ancient seasonal religious practices. He teaches that Halloween commemorates the triumph of darkness over the sun and that December 25 represents the rebirth of the pagan sun god rather than the birth of Yeshua. He argues that the Roman Catholic Church incorporated existing pagan customs into Christian celebrations, resulting in religious traditions that he believes lack biblical authorization. He interprets Christmas trees and wreaths as symbols originating in pagan religious practices and rejects their use in Christian worship. He teaches that Yeshua was born on the first day of the feast of tabernacles rather than December 25. He presents this as part of the restoration of the original biblical calendar and the appointed celebrations of Yahweh. He maintains that the biblical festivals, including Passover, the day of atonement, and the feast of tabernacles, have direct scriptural authorization, while holidays such as Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, Mardi Gras, and New Year's Day do not. The central doctrine is that believers should separate themselves from religious customs Vaughn identifies as pagan, reject human traditions that conflict with his understanding of Scripture, and return to the original appointed celebrations of Yahweh.
