THE MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB The Passover Series (Part 4) 2020-04-07 ________________ 1. The Book of Luke chapter 22 and verse 8: “And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the Passover, that we may eat.” If you have your Bibles, Luke 22 and verse 8 – praise the Lord. If you'll stand for the reading of the Word of the Lord; when that Book opened, we got on our feet in reverence to the Word of God. 2. Now let's go down to verse 15: “And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.” I want you to hear what he's saying: “My greatest desire is to eat this Passover with you.” But then listen to what he said – “but I can't do it.” My greatest desire is to partake of this meal with you, but I can't do it. 3. Even though he broke the bread and blessed it and poured the wine, he never drank it and he never ate the bread. Instead he passed it around, and then he said, “I would love to keep this Passover with you.” Listen to what he said, verse 16: “But I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until…” somebody say “until.” 4. “I will not eat it any more, till it be fulfilled” – somebody say “fulfilled.” Now we have a major problem here, because your church told you that the Passover was fulfilled, but Jesus said, “I'm not going to eat this with you until the Passover is fulfilled.” And when is that going to be? “Until it be fulfilled in the Kingdom of God.” 5. He’s talking about the coming Kingdom of God here on earth. Tonight I want to preach to you on “Practicing a Promise.” Many of you, when you take communion – and by the way, this is not communion. Communion is a Catholic creation; we don't take communion here, we keep the Passover. The Passover is when you break the body and drink the blood. 6. It's not to be done every Sunday; it's not to be done every week. The Bible said to do it on Passover night, on the 14th day of the first month – this is the Lord's Passover. Many of you, when you come here tonight and you eat this body and drink this blood, you've been taught all your life to eat and drink “in remembrance of the Lord's death.” 7. Ladies and gentlemen, I've come to preach to you tonight that you've been remembering the wrong thing. That's not what this remembrance is about. If I tell Sister Pat, “In 10 years I'm going to give you a home, paid for, with everything you ever wanted, but until I do that I want you to remember what I told you,” how do we remember it? 8. I tell you how: every year we're going to remind each other about the promise. Me and you are going to meet up in a café and you're going to remind me, “We only got eight years left,” and I'm going to remind you, “We only got eight years left.” Jesus said, “Do this in remembrance of me.” You need to quit only looking at the cross; he said, “I want you to remember I'm coming back in my Father's Kingdom and we're going to drink this together.” 9. You've been remembering the wrong thing; the devil doesn't mind you remembering a dead man, but he doesn't want you to remember a living promise. He doesn't want you to remember the coming Kingdom of God. “I'm going to go remember his death” – that's good, but the only reason he wants you to remember his death is because in his death is his promise and the blood paid for the New Covenant that's going to bring him back. 10. Why do you think Satan took Passover out of the church? Why do you think that? Let me ask every one of you something: how many in this room have ever said, “I want to be there at the marriage supper of the Lamb”? What do you think this is – and we can’t get nobody here. What do you think the marriage supper of the Lamb is going to be, fried chicken? 11. The marriage supper of the Lamb is when he keeps that promise he just made, that he's going to eat the bread and drink the blood with us in his Father's Kingdom. You're at the marriage supper tonight. But we've been so taught that “Jesus fulfilled all this” that now we miss out on this. Why do you think we're dressed in white tonight? 12. Because there's an old gospel song that says, “This will be a glorious sight, when the saints are dressed in white,” talking about the marriage supper of the Lamb. Around here we're not waiting on it to happen; we practice it every year to remind us of his death and his return. The saints will be dressed in a robe of white. What are you remembering tonight? 13. We're not here to gaze upon a cross; we're here to look forward to his return – that's what we are remembering. I want to ask every one of you: if there was one apostle alive today and you invited him to an Easter egg hunt or to a Passover service, where do you think he would go? Passover. Then why are you out there with the Babylonian systems of this world? 14. If you're here tonight, God has called you out of there. God has brought you into this house to remember the promise that he made: he is coming, he's returning, he's separating us. He's separating the wheat from the tares; he's separating us. Somebody said, “I'm looking for a worldwide revival.” The next revival is a revival of separation. 15. It's the revival of God finding out who really belongs to the Church and who belongs to “church.” There's a difference between the two. Tonight you've been separated; you're in this building because you're not of this world, but you're of a new economy. God is calling you tonight in this building. 16. Somebody said, “Brother V, unleavened bread is too much work, I don't want to hunt through my house.” But you go hunt eggs all over the yard. The problem is, you said it – you don't want to do it; you don't have the Holy Ghost to give you the “want to” to obey God. The Holy Ghost makes you obedient. Tonight you're here out of obedience. 17. In Waveland, Mississippi, last night we have been fought so hard over this meeting. A literal Jezebel walked in this building trying to desecrate this meeting. But when you begin to find people – there's a movement starting. God has started a movement; there are seven different states in this house tonight. God is starting a movement; people are coming out, seeing the light, walking in the narrow way. 18. There is a movement happening in America and in the world; God’s getting a people ready for the marriage supper of the Lamb. All my life I was in church; nobody ever told me that he was going to eat this with us in his Kingdom. I was told he “fulfilled it,” but his word said, “I'm not going to eat it until it's fulfilled.” Is anybody picking up what I'm putting down? 19. He said, “I'm not going to eat it until it's fulfilled.” If I read my Bible right, he never ate it, because it hasn't been fulfilled. Don't let anybody convince you the Passover has ever been fulfilled. God is getting his people ready, and he said every year, “I want you to come on the 14th day of the first month, not on sunrise Sunday morning, but on the 14th of the first month.” 20. “Why, Lord?” Because we're going to sit down at a table together, and I'm going to remind you. When you drink that cup tonight, I want you to remind yourself while you drink it that this is the guarantee that I'm going to drink it with you very soon. Tonight we have come to this table to have an anniversary with our King. What kind of anniversary? 21. In the Jewish custom, if you want to marry somebody it's a complicated procedure. Marriage proposals are done very formally. Yeshua, when he spoke to us, spoke from that Jewish culture and mindset he was raised in. There were many steps taken before a proposal; a man could not just “pop the question.” 22. If he had his eye on a young lady, the first thing he had to do was set a table and invite the girl, her mother and father, and his own mother and father. They would sit down at a table. The groom would then take a cup of wine and turn to the young lady and ask her, “Will you be my bride? Will you be faithful to me while I go and prepare us a home? Will you wait for me?” 23. At that moment, the bride didn't say “yes” or “no” or “I do”; she either accepted or rejected the cup of wine. If she took the cup and drank it, she just made a vow to her fiancé – that whenever he decided to return, she would still have a veil over her face. In Israel, the moment the woman drank the cup she immediately put a veil on her face. 24. Where do you think wedding veils came from? She put a veil on to hide her, to separate her from the world, so all other men knew she was spoken for. She would wear that veil all over Jerusalem once she drank the cup. When you drink the cup of the Lord and hand it back, and he drinks it, in the eyes of God they were as good as married at that moment. 25. God doesn't see much difference between an engagement and a marriage. “Brother V, I don't believe that.” Then why did he tell Joseph, “Go take Mary your wife,” before they were fully married? She had drunk the cup. When you come to this table tonight and drink the cup, you have accepted his invitation – to be faithful until he comes, to be faithful until you see his face again. 26. “Brother V, he's been gone so long.” No, he's only been gone two days; a day with the Lord is as a thousand years. In Jerusalem the groom would be gone about two or three years preparing the home – we're right at that “third day” mark. This is the day we are living in. 27. When Yeshua offered them the cup, he said, “This cup is the New Covenant which I am offering to you.” They did not have to drink it; it was an offer. They were well aware what the cup meant when it was offered. The Bible said they took that cup and they drank it; and that's when he said, “I want to drink it with you, but I’ve got to wait until we drink it together in my Father's Kingdom.” 28. Then he said, “As often as you do this…” – not communion, the Passover. What were they doing when he made that promise? The Passover. He said, “As often as you keep this Passover, now you don't have to remember Egypt anymore. I want you to remember my promise that I just made to you, that I'm going to drink it with you one more time at the marriage supper of the Lamb.” That’s what we’re remembering tonight. 29. The whole church says, “I want to be at the marriage supper,” but they were all invited tonight and nobody wants to be there, because they've been so seduced by this world. Satan has seduced their minds so that all they want is the world. Tonight, as you've come into this assembly, in just a matter of moments when you walk down this wedding aisle, it is a rehearsal. 30. We do these rehearsals every year; seven times a year we do these rehearsals. When you understand these rehearsals, your life begins to change. Tonight he's asking you a question: “Will you accept my offer to meet me in my Father's Kingdom?” That's what tonight is, ladies and gentlemen. You thought it was about the old rugged cross; no, it's about the promise that the cross paid for. 31. The promise that he is coming and that he wants you to meet him there – and you do that when you drink the cup. You give him your word; he gives you his. Every time you show back up every year, you know what you're saying? “I haven't forgotten. I haven't forgotten your promise, Lord. Here I am again; I'm back to remind you that I'm still waiting.” 32. I'm walking down here tonight to remind you, “I haven't forgot what you said, and I'm going to hold you to it. I'm waiting on you.” An old song says, “I don't mind waiting.” Every time I drink the cup, I'm reminded. The cup is your invitation to the marriage supper, and when you drink it you've accepted it – you've RSVPed. 33. Why did we go through all this trouble tonight? Somebody said, “It looks like a wedding in here.” Exactly. There’s fixing to be a big wedding like the world's never seen. We're already dressed for it; you're dressed in your bridal garments, robes white as snow, because you still believe. We're losing faith in the earth; Jesus said, “When I return, will I find faith?” Only among the elect, the remnant. 34. If you're here tonight it's because you've still got faith. So as we prepare now to take the Lord's Supper, I'm going to ask every single one of you, when you come, on behalf of the Lord Jesus Christ – I'm going to let him ask you through my voice: “Will you meet me at the wedding? Will you meet me in my Father's Kingdom?” 35. Are you going to live holy? We'll talk about that tomorrow night. “Will you meet me in my Father's Kingdom?” He said, “If you will, drink this cup every year. Tell me you haven't forgotten; tell me you still hold my love letters deep inside your pocket somewhere.” Just like that soldier's wife when he goes off to war; she keeps that little locket around her neck with his picture in it. 36. It reminds her he promised her before he left that he wouldn't die, he promised her, “I'll be back.” Every night before she goes to bed she kisses that little locket, believing he's coming back. Tonight you're here to kiss the locket of your Beloved. You're here to tell him, “I'm not going to forget, and I don't believe you're going to forget.” 37. Even though life gets hard, “I'll drink your cup. I'll still stay separated from the world for you; I'll still be holy for you; I'll still obey you. I don't know how much longer, Lord, but however long you wait, I can wait.” The reason Satan has stopped these Passover celebrations is so we'll forget the promise. We get caught up in this life. 38. God says, “Seven times a year, shut it down. Come back. Come back into the assembly, gather with the lambs of God, and be reminded.” Tonight there are three elements to the Passover: number one is mikvah, which is baptism. Every Passover, to bring your sacrifice – which is you, the lambs of God – you must be washed. You're all lambs tonight, duplications of Yeshua the Messiah. 39. That's why you're in white tonight; but every year the reason he wanted you to wash one another's feet on Passover is because every year your feet get a little dirty with sin in this muddy world. You lose a little faith; the news media takes it from you; your friends take it from you – they're suckers of faith. They mock you and make fun of some of you now for being here. 40. They rob your faith; they're faith robbers, like grave robbers. They just want your faith. But it's on nights like tonight, when our muddy feet – not our whole body, but our feet where we've been walking through the heartaches of life – get a little dirty. He said, “When you come, don't just drink the blood; get re-baptized, recommitted to the promise. Be reminded that I'm coming back.” 41. So when you get in line tonight, someone will pour water over your hands right over this basin to clean your hands, to baptize your hands before you take the supper. Then when you get through taking the supper, we're going to baptize your feet and you're going to remember the promise of the Lord. Let me tell every one of you something: church playing is about over with. 42. We're getting to the moment now you're either going to go all the way in or all the way out – there is no more in-between. The pressure is heating up on God's church. So tonight, why don't you come remind him of his promise and let him remind you of his promise. There are three parts of the Passover: the past – we look back – and the future, but there's one more part I've got to tell you about. 43. Yes, he's going to eat it with you then, and yes, he partook of it back then, but did you know there's a present work of Christ? It's sitting at that table tonight when you come. He promised to meet you on a holy day; he promised, “On the 14th day, I'll meet you there.” His presence is here tonight to meet with you, and you're going to begin to feel that presence because he is here. 44. “He is here, hallelujah; he is here, amen. He is here, you can touch him; you will never be the same.
