kindnessmatthew 13:24–26genuine spiritual fruitmatthew 13:24–26 — elder ray betts teaches that believers must continually cultivate the garden of their minds by recognizing and removing harmful thoughts before they become deeply rooted attitudes. he applies yeshua's parable of the wheat and tares to the importance of spiritual discernment, warning that bitterness, jealousy, pride, unforgiveness, gossip, and manipulation can appear harmless while gradually corrupting a believer's spiritual life. through galatians 5:22–23, he teaches that genuine spiritual growth produces the fruit of the spirit rather than merely an outward appearance of righteousness. john 14:15 establishes obedience as an expression of love for yeshua, while matthew 23:27 warns against hypocrisy and inward corruption concealed by outward religious appearances. he further emphasizes that prayer, repentance, truthful correction, and remaining connected to yeshua are necessary for producing authentic spiritual fruit. the interpretation of the wheat and tares as competing thoughts within an individual's mind is the speaker's devotional application of the parable, rather than its explicit identification of the good seed and weeds as people in matthew 13:37–39.obediencegenuine fruitflattery and hidden motivesmatthew 23:272025joyspiritual discernmentgmsgentlenessabiding in yeshuaunforgivenessmatthew 7:19galatians 5:22–23spiritual growthfaithfulnesspridepatiencespiritual growthmorning mannaspiritual weedsgenetically modified seeds as a spiritual analogyray bettswhitewashed tombsprayer and repentanceyahwehwheat and taresrepentancethe vine and the branchesflatterygossip and manipulationgoodnessguarding the mindbitterness and unforgivenessmanipulationjealousyhypocrisythe garden of the mindfruit of the spirityeshuaspiritual correctionmaintaining a healthy spiritual lifeself-controlprayerthe parable of the wheat and taresthe fruit of the spiritlovepeacebad thoughtsbitternessweedspsalm 55:21genetically modified seedsgood seed and bad seedgarden of the mindfalse spiritual appearancesgossipgood seedrelationships within the body of believerslove demonstrated through obediencefalse fruitrecognizing harmful thoughtsobedience to yahwehspiritual discernmentmarch 29john 15:5hypocrisyvine and branchesjohn 14:15

FHM Morning Manna March 29, 2025 - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saIffVtG-Yw Transcript: (00:00) Hallelujah. All you fine people, not only right here, but out there also. Almighty Yahweh, thank you for all all you being here. Hallelujah. As we take our seats, I want to give you thanks for being here this morning. Getting up bright and early. Yes, sir. Amen. Shall we pray? Yes. Let my words be as sweet as honey and rise up to you, Yahweh, as incense. (00:36) May my words fill my mouth. May your words fill my mouth. May these words fall on good soil. Yes, Lord. In Yeshua's mighty name, I pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Like I said, it's so nice to see so many people out here this morning. Amen. I give honor to Pastor Vaughn, Lady Karen, Bishop Kendrick, Sister Wanda Kendrick, the elders, the ministers, the body of this ministry, and all of you joining us this morning, not only here, but out there. (01:18) Amen. Thank you for being here to receive what Yahweh have placed on my heart this morning. So, I've talked about weeds in our garden before, more specifically, the garden of our mind. So, in case you forgot or missed it, here's a quick refresher. I know I need refreshing all the time. Amen, Elder. Our garden or our bowl is our mind. (01:47) Yes, sir. Just like any natural garden, we have to keep it weed-free. We need to tend to it daily. sometimes even by the hour because when weeds are left alone, they grow strong roots. And when it when they're rooted, they're much harder to pull out. Have we all found that to be true? Yes, sir. These weeds are bad thoughts, lies, pride, bitterness, jealousy, and unforgiveness. (02:18) Sometimes they show up from hurtful words. Other times they sneak in subtly. Subly. It's easy for you to say through offense or self-doubt. And if you let them grow, they'll take over your garden. Yes, sir. Or your mind. Stay out of my pea patch. Amen. Amen. And that's biblical. That's biblical. Amen. I call these kind these thoughts GMS or genetically modified seeds that not only we have seown but other people have swn. Yes sir. (02:55) These are not natural seeds. Y'all created for our growth. They're altered, twisted and designed designed to grow fast and they take over our mind. They look like truth but they are so corrupted. Yes sir. Yes sir. You think it's just a small thought, but it spreads quickly, right? You think you're justified in feeling bitter, but it's poison for your joy. Amen. (03:27) Amen. You think someone's compliment is sincere, but it's flattery rooted in manipulation. Amen. GMS or geotic geometically s uh easy for you to say. genetically modified genetically modified seed. Thank you, Elder. Amen. There are thoughts that appear harmless, but their DNA is not of of Yahweh. It's influenced by the enemy. (03:54) And we know who that enemy is, sir. Maybe since some maybe somebody said something that wasn't what you expected and you became bitter. Maybe it was gossip you overheard and let it fester in your mind. Maybe someone said something sweet, but their motives weren't pure. Pure. That's a lemon dipped in honey. (04:20) Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Amen. You don't have to lash out at people. Love them anyway. But also be discerning. Know who they are and their and be mindful of what they're you're you're allowing to take root in your garden. Not every word spoken to you is meant for planting. Some words carry seeds of confusion, offense, or manipulation. (04:50) If you're not careful, they'll settle into your thoughts and begin to grow. Yes, sir. And grow quickly. Ask, "What did you harvest?" Sometimes the fruit we're we're holding isn't real. It might look good. Boy, this apple looks good, doesn't it? Yes. Might look good, but it's hollow about like my head. There's no life in this. (05:33) There's no life in this at all. Yahweh didn't create it. Man created this. Wow. Wow. It's not from Yahweh. Amen. And just when we think we've cleared the garden, just when we pulled a few obvious weeds and tossed them out, the fake fruit, we breathe a sign of relief. But here's the thing. The enemy doesn't always come out loud. (06:02) He sws subtle seeds. And not everything that grows in our minds is easy to identify at first glance. Sometimes after identifying a few bad seeds, we assume we're in the clear. But not everything that grows in the mind is immediately obvious. Now, here's the thing. Sometimes in our effort to pull the weeds, we struggle because we can't tell the difference between the good thoughts and the bad thoughts. (06:39) Just like Yeshua taught in the parable of the wheat and the tears. Yes, sir. In Matthew 13:24 through 26. He put another parable before them, saying, "The kingdom of heaven is like compared to a man who swed good seed in his field. But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away. (07:07) " So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also. That's what it's like in our mind. thoughts come up and we must pause and pray. Yahweh is the Yahweh is this from you or from the enemy. We know it. Yahweh does good fruit. We know the enemy doesn't. Prayer is how we clear the garden. It's not always loud or long. (07:42) It can be quiet and simple. Yes, sir. A prayer of thanks, a prayer of healing. Pray for somebody else. Yes, sir. Pray for repentance. Hey, I did wrong and now I need to own up to it. And if you've messed with somebody else's garden, their pea patch, go to them, repent if needed. That's how we keep the body strong. The body right here. Yes, sir. (08:13) So, what are you planting? Once the weeds are out and we've gone before Yahweh in prayer, we ask, "Have I prepared my garden? Is it ready for planting?" Ask yourself, "What seeds did I plant this week amongst the brethren?" Amen. Did I plant peace? or irritation? Did I plant joy or sarcasm? Did I plant obedience or convenience in Galatians 5:22 and 23 it reads, "But the spirit of the fruit is joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. (09:14) Against such these things is no law." Yahweh said in John 14 verse 15, "If you love me, you'll keep my commandments." Obedience is how we prepare the good soil. It's the proof that we love him, our works. Amen. It's not just saying it, but showing it. When we obey Yahweh's instructions, we make good space for good fruit to grow. But Yahweh also warned us in Matthew 7:19, "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. (10:10) " That's serious. What we allow to grow in our hearts and minds matters. Our harvest reveals our walk. Yes, sir. We have fake fruit. And we have And we have real fruit. Real fruit. Fruit from Yahweh. It has good seed in it. Yes, sir. So, does this look good? Looks good. Would you eat it? Would you eat that? No, I couldn't eat that. That's made out of wood. (10:57) It's hard, isn't it? Real hard. What about this one? Would you eat that? Yeah, this one I can. Okay. Okay. Most people say no to the first one because it looks nice but has no life in it. There's no seed in it. Wow. That's what it looks like when someone tries to look spiritual or kind, but it's only for show. (11:30) Matthew 23:27 reads, "Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for you are like unw whitewashed tombs, outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people's bones and all uncleanness." Sometimes people say nice things about you not because they love you. It's because they have a hidden motive. That's a honey. (12:13) I mean, that's a lemon with honey on it. Makes it sweet. But is it real? Is it good? Is it good for you? No. Sweet on the outside, but bitter underneath. Amen. Pardon me while I fumble. Psalm 52:21 reads, "His speech was smooth as butter, yet war was in his heart. His words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords." So, I showed you earlier a lemon. (13:12) We can put honey on it. Makes it pretty sweet, but not good on the outside. Then we got this other lemon. That's a real one. Sometimes we need correction. The bitter truth. Now, how you going to get truth out of this? There's no seed in it. There's no seed in it. How you how you going to get truth in this? Eat it. You got to eat it. (13:38) It nourishes us. It gives us life. Yes, it does. We don't like like fake fruit. we don't perform it. It grows when we abide in Yahweh. Walk in truth and obedience. And sometimes we need a correction, a bitter truth. As pastor says, I'm reading what the Bible says. And if it sticks in your craw, pray for discernment. Amen. (14:06) Amen. We don't like fake fruit. You can't pretend to be holy. You can't mimic the fruit of the spirit and expect to have power. It has to come from inside. It grows when we abide in Yeshua and walk in truth and obedience. The key word there is obedience. Fruit grows on healthy trees. And we grow when we stay connected to Yah Yeshua, filled with the spirit and walking in Yahweh's commands. (14:47) John 15:5 says, "I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he that hear that bears much fruit. For apart from me, you

Summary

FHM Morning Manna – March 29, 2025 features Elder Ray Betts continuing his teaching about maintaining the garden of the mind. He begins by explaining that thoughts resemble seeds planted in a garden. When harmful thoughts are neglected, they can develop into deeply rooted attitudes that become increasingly difficult to remove. He introduces the expression genetically modified seeds as an analogy for thoughts that appear harmless but are spiritually destructive. These include bitterness, gossip, jealousy, pride, manipulation, and unforgiveness. Using Matthew 13:24–26, Betts applies the parable of the wheat and tares to the importance of distinguishing beneficial thoughts from harmful influences. He emphasizes prayer, repentance, and discernment as essential practices for maintaining a healthy spiritual life. The message then turns to Galatians 5:22–23, where the fruit of the Spirit provides a standard for genuine spiritual character. Betts contrasts authentic spiritual fruit with outward religious appearances that lack inward transformation. Through John 14:15 and Matthew 7:19, he connects obedience with love and emphasizes the seriousness of producing good fruit. He uses Matthew 23:27 to warn against hypocrisy and Psalm 55:21 to illustrate how pleasant words may conceal hostile intentions. The available transcript concludes as he begins reading John 15:5, emphasizing that genuine spiritual fruit develops through remaining connected to Yeshua.

Core doctrine

Matthew 13:24–26 — Elder Ray Betts teaches that believers must continually cultivate the garden of their minds by recognizing and removing harmful thoughts before they become deeply rooted attitudes. The interpretation of the wheat and tares as competing thoughts within an individual's mind is the speaker's devotional application of the parable, rather than its explicit identification of the good seed and weeds as people in Matthew 13:37–39.
