the rush grow without mud I want to preach to you today about Muddy Miracles amen let's go to the Lord in prayer father we thank you for everyone here today I thank you for your word I thank you Lord that but from a little boy every time I step behind this pull pit I feel the awesome presence of your word upon my lips I ask you to anoint them today and anoint the minds of your people that they can become less distracted that they can hear what the spirit has to feed them today may your anointing break the yolks off of their minds and their heart and their lives in the name above every name everybody said amen amen amen you may be seated I want to preach today about Muddy Miracles and we taken our text from job 8 from a man named bildad bildad the shoe height reveals to you in those verses that we just read and when I've read those verses before they never meant anything to me the Bible is a dead letter until the Holy Ghost breathes upon it and brings it to life to you job has a comforter by the name of bildad and in these words bildad is talking to job Bill dad says to job job your days are nothing but a shadow on Earth he says to him in these words he gives us pearls sister he gives us Pearls of divine wisdom in these verses that I just read to you if you'll listen to them closely is the true picture of your whole life how many's ever asked this question why am I here what is my purpose surely it's not to wake up every morning clock in clock out deal with the same drama deal with the redundancy of something called life what is my purpose in this life your question is answered from Bild dad the Sho height in these verses your whole life and the purpose thereof is hidden in these verses so therefore I encourage you to read them over and over until they become life to you but the question the question that bill dad asked ask job I'm going to ask you today can the rush grow without the [Music] mud first of all that question seems so non important in the western mind because how many in this room can tell me what a rush is they might know what a rush is when you say rush I'm thinking get to work K get to church rush let's get there that's what I the reason this verse when you read it it it okay big deal let's go to the next verse but the whole mystery of God is in that one line can the rush grow without the mud I'll tell you what the rush is if you go to the land of Egypt or even here in America and you go to certain rivers and you walk by those Rivers you will find very tall Blades of hardened almost like bamboo they're tall about 6 ft tall they stand out of the water and they make like a curtain almost on the water these are in the days of Egypt they called them rushes um matter of fact Moses was found in the basket among the russes these tall things that stand out of the water now joob I'll ask you again can the rush grow without the mud in the days of Egypt the entire economy was built on the rush for example they would take those rush they would go down to the river they would break them off they would weave them together to make clothes to wear they would wear clothes made from the rush then they would weave them together and make baskets to carry their food in it was dependent upon the rush then they would take the Rush break it up and build a fire when they didn't have wood the rush was so important to the econ of that day it was the building block of civilization here's something else they did with the rush they would take the rush and make sails to put on ships so that wealthy men could send their Wares down the river and make money the rush created the sails that the ship traveled with and then empty bellies could be satiated with that Rush you can take the rush and grind it up and make a paste out of it and eat it and stay full for days you could eat the rush and then they would take the rush after that and they would dry the rush they would lay it out in the sun and then they would take these rushes and they would weave them together dry them out and make something called a scroll they would make the Scrolls out of the rush listen carefully it's what they made paper out of was the rush now stay with me this Rush was so important that had it not been for The Rush no one would have this today because when Moses sat down to write the pent talk the first five books of this Bible guess what he grabbed he grabbed a pen made out of Rush filled with ink and then he grabbed papus paper made from the rush and wrote the word of God on Rush that's how important the rush was in those days so job was well aware when Bill dad asked him the question joob can the rush grow without the mud job knew how important the rush was to their civilization it was a building block of society civilization depended on the rush why because the society cannot grow if they don't write down their history but how do you write it where do you write it the rush created the Society of that day wow our very Bible owes its creation to the rush Moses would have a re in his hand made from the rush without the rush there would have been no future learning we would know nothing about our ancestor ERS without the rush how many agree with me now that the rush is very important yes without the rush there would be no future but I've have come to preach to you something greater than that today without the mud there would be no rush that's right right Hallelujah on I want to talk to you today about the question of Bill Dad he said joob can the rush grow without the M down underneath the rush that was so important but somewhere beneath the riverbed there was a dark murky bottom and the life of the rush was produced from something that you would rather forget about in your life I got to preach today can the rush grow without the dark places of your life that you would like to stay hidden under the water of baptism come on on can the rush grow without every drop of mud that created it down under the roots of the rush there's the Dark murky place that nobody sees it's filthy it's dirty it's got slime in it nobody wants to get down there in the M where the rush is growing but job said he had a question I know you want something great in your life job and I know you want to see Miracles but I come to tell you job Miracles don't grow unless there's some manyy places in your life for them to grow out of and the rush grow without your mistakes can life grow without your failures come on every sin you've committed brought you to the life of the Cross Rush cannot grow without mud this black substance where does Mud come from I want to talk to you now where does Mud come from I'm going to tell you where it comes from this black substance called m or mud is Created from the death of other things that once lived they died to create the foundation of your future oh yes where does Mud come from late at night when you're laying in your bed and you hear the storm clouds Brewing you you hear the Clapping of Thunder you see the roll of lightning and you're about to go to sleep let me tell you what's about to happen in the forest and in the woods of your town as that storm begins to blow I'm telling you some folks so far away from the spirit I I want I want to you hear something when that storm begins to blow things begin to crack trees begin to bend leaves Begin to Fall at one time these leaves were alive on the tree at one time that Branch had life in it but when the Storm come it comes to kill those branches those leaves that fall down they're falling to die and my friend the Muddy Banks of every river is created when those leaves begin to flow into that River and settle on the bottom when those limbs begin to float into the water and settle to the bottom it begins to Decay and create you some mud yes whenever it take begins to die that once had life it creates a ground called me and it looks like that's mud no honey what that is is life that gave up its own life to give you life as those leaves begin to die as the the branches begin to break as they begin to go down to the bottom of the river it creates a fertile soil and from that fertile death I said that fertile death that fertile death when that vertile death begins to grow comes up the the rush are the things that you need in your life to stay strong to move on and God nothing in this world can live unless something dies that's right meire is the connecting together of life that has died to give life to something that has not yet lived every great thing has its roots in some dark experience of your life that's right remember the storm that came you remember when the wind began to blow and the and your leav the leaves on your pretty trees Begin to Fall you had your picture painted your perfect life all your leaves were orange your limbs were strong your trees were Oaks you painted a picture your house was solid your marriage was [Music] unbreakable you painted a picture and what one day a storm begin to blow and your picture begin to lose its color your happy life began to crumble all around you and everything you built be to be washed away in the swelling tide of a storm called life and you wept as it died you wept as you lost that marriage you wept as you lost that job you wept as your leaves begin to fade but my friend it is in the death of those things that God produces life for his will in your life amen unless it dies the will of God cannot live you better hear me today day everything God wants to do in your life starts with your death until you go in that watery grave of baptism and die a sinner's death until you die you ain't fit to live it is only in the mud I'm talking about Muddy Miracles today but upon my bottom is money my yesterday is black let me tell you something the blacker the mud the sweeter the juice the greater the blessings will be in your life yes amen every great thing in your life has to grow out of something and it grows out of the mud that maybe even you created because of wrong choices Rebellion to God that's you created a muddy experience in your life but nothing great is going to happen for you until everything you've loved you're willing to let it go that's right every great spiritual Revival that's ever happened all the way from Jonathan Edwards all the way up to Martin Luther all the way down to parum and Seymour all the spiritual Awakenings that have happened only happened when a people were so ready to die to themselves that God could raise out of their Collective death a Revival until you're ready to let everything you love go your security your job your happiness your family your friends and let them float down to the river bottom let them die if you can't hold on to it let them die and when they die God's Got Away don't you remember when the Lord wanted to heal a blinded eye he looked for a little bit of mud God's got a way of taking the muddy mess of your life he's got a way of taking every broken marriage he found a way of taking every sinful mistake and creating in your own mind your greatest Miracle can the rush grow without the mud come on there can be nothing great in your life that grows until everything great goes that's right oh yes that castle you built that dream life you planned when you get true [Music] faith you'll stand at the river bank and river bank and watch your leaves Float by and you'll be so dead to yourself that you will pray father May those leaves fall to the bottom and create new life for dead things may it create new life for those that come after everything God's ever done started with M look at Adam where did God create Adam from the mud the dirt everything God's ever done great will come out of your greatest mistakes wow is anybody here today oh yes amen the greatest thing God will ever do in your life will take the greatest mistake you ever made and make something beautiful than you father that's the power of God that's called muddy Miracles yes mud of your own making God has never created something great without something dying remember remember his son the very bed of Christian chrity worldwide believers do you know what we grew out of when the lamb the tree the branch died on that cross and his leaves floated to the bottom of life's proverbial River and everything he was supposed to have a worldwide Ministry you know that right Jesus was supposed to he was promised that the nations of the world would bow down to him he was promised that Satan would be bound he was promised that he would be lord of the Sabbath he would rule the Earth and that all people would confess and call him Lord this is his promise but I wonder while he was dying on the cross if perhaps the thought didn't come into his mind this ain't what I was promised but he knew what job found out that nothing great grows until something great dies and it was from the death of Our Lord that created a mud stream of disappointment for him don't you know that before he died the Bible said he went to the Garden in great Agony do you think that man wanted to die do you believe for one moment that he wanted to die so much so he asked the father please don't let it happen please don't let me

Summary

This sermon uses Job 8:11 and the imagery of the rush growing from mud to teach that God's greatest miracles emerge from life's darkest experiences. Vaughn argues that suffering, failure, disappointment, and loss function as the fertile soil from which spiritual growth and divine purpose arise. Through examples drawn from creation, baptism, the healing of the blind man, and the death of Messiah, the message emphasizes that God consistently brings life out of death and miracles out of brokenness.
