Pastor Shane Vaughn teaches FORGIVENESS; Human Vs. Holy
Shane Vaughn ——— First Harvest Ministries International
There's a big difference in human forgiveness and holy forgiveness. And I'd like to explain the difference. Because every one of you Pardon me. Are going to face a time in your life where you can choose to forgive or not to forgive. You have three types of people. You have an evil person that says if you ask them to forgive you they say no, I'll never forgive you. That's just an evil heart. Then you have a good moral person that if you ask them to forgive you they reluctantly say okay, I forgive you. Because you asked them to. But then there's another kind of forgiveness.
Very few people ever ascertain this level of forgiveness. It's reserved for a very unique group of people. And that's holy forgiveness. Holy forgiveness is where you have this unnatural unhuman ability to forgive people that don't even want to be forgiven. They never asked you to forgive them. As a matter of fact, to their way of thinking they've done nothing that needs forgiveness. But somehow supernaturally you're able to forgive those people. Until you reach that level, you have not experienced the joy of the Holy Spirit. A peace that passes all understanding comes through holy forgiveness.
And would encourage you today if there is someone in your life that needs forgiveness and you're waiting for them to ask you to forgive them you have not yet reached that level that I'm talking about. Do you remember when Yeshua the Messiah was on the cross and they were crucifying him? He had a level of forgiveness that you must have in order to be pleasing to your heavenly Father. No one said forgive us for what we're doing, sir. No one threw a sword in his side and said, "Hey, by the way, we're sorry." But he knew something.
He knew something that you must know if you want to have holy forgiveness. He knew this would not be happening to him unless his Father allowed it. Unless there was a purpose behind it for his good. And until you get to the point where you understand that you have no enemy bigger than your best friend his name is Yahweh God. Until you realize that all your enemies are under his control, then you'll be mad at your enemies. You'll be hurt at people that hurt you. But when you realize that he allowed it now you've got to choose who to be mad at. Who to be hurt at? Them or him?
And that gets into a dangerous situation. You must learn that everyone that's ever attacked you or done you wrong if they were allowed to do that to you you must give thanks to the Father for that attack. When you do it, automatically, guess what comes with Thanksgiving? Forgiveness. Humans can forgive those that want to be forgiven, but believers forgive those that do not want it and do not deserve it. I want to tell you a very private story about my life. It's a story that I've never talked about publicly until right now.
I'm driving down the back roads of Mississippi headed to our land that Yahweh has given us 30 beautiful acres for the ministry. And my mind goes back to a time about maybe 6 years ago when I met two wonderful men, two wonderful ministers of the gospel, who are doing a great work for Yahweh right now. Two of the finest men I've ever met. And they're still the finest men I've ever met. I won't call names, of course, because that's not the purpose of my video here. I want to help somebody today learn how to have holy forgiveness.
When I met these two men, we decided to form uh an organization or a fellowship of churches, ministers, and I remember that first meeting that we had where we didn't even know what we were going to call that fellowship. I suggested we call it the Apostolic Church of God, and one of the ministers said, "Well, no, there's already an organization with that name." So, they threw out a name and I agreed to it and we formed a a great fellowship of Sabbath-keeping, spirit-filled congregations. So, I'm not going to stay on this story.
I'm not going to give you details, but I'm going to give you the end result. After we together worked to build that fellowship, and I brought several of my friends into that fellowship and ministers that are still in that fellowship today, that wonderful fellowship. There came a time when I felt like I was being pushed out. That was my perspective. That's how I saw it. And as a matter of fact, the minister that I'm referring to told another minister that I was just scaffolding that was used to build the fellowship. Well, let me say all Let me just get to the gist of it.
I was so hurt over that situation. Especially when I looked back at the the website and saw that I had been removed from any formation of that or any you know, blah blah blah. I really was hurt. My wife would watch me. It affected me and I and I just at that moment I felt ill towards those brothers. And I felt they were wrong. And maybe they were. Maybe I was wrong. But I was pushed out over a doctrinal issue that we just disagreed on. And at that moment I felt like I had been used.
At that moment, I felt like I had been uh scaffolding, exactly what the word was used to build another man an opportunity to rise to the top. I felt left out. I felt abused. I'm just being completely raw, completely honest with you today. And then for several years, I was the minister that was on the outside. Uh before that, I spoke at all their conferences, but now I had no following, no church to speak of. I felt like I got the shaft, if I could just be honest with you. My wife stayed on me night and day.
Because it was it was told when when we when we had this parting of ways, it was told to another minister, "Brother Vaughn will not go quietly. He will make a noise. There will be, you know, he'll try to split the organization, the fellowship." That's what was expected of me, and at times, that's what I wanted to do. But I never did. I never spoke of this publicly before this moment. And the only reason I'm speaking of it now is cuz I want to show you what happens when you forgive with holy forgiveness.
So, to this day, none of those brethren have ever repented or apologized to me or asked me to forgive them, because truly in their mind, they probably don't think they did anything that needs forgiveness. And I get that. I didn't get that then, but I do get that now. However, if that moment had not happened in my life, then them and me our growth would have been stunted forever. You see, Yahweh had a plan for me that did not fit in their in their world, and that's okay. Yahweh had a plan for them that did not fit in my world.
And he saw the ministry he was going to give me one day if I could find forgiveness in my heart. It was my test. It was my moment to either go bad or go ugly. And my wife stayed on me about getting that out of my heart, not allowing that bitterness to fester in my heart. I've never addressed this publicly. It's been 6 years now, I believe. I've never said a word. And I'm saying it today because I'm driving to the land, our campgrounds, for our ministry that probably never would have happened if that split had not happened. I I want you to hear what I'm telling you.
The land that I'm driving to now, our campgrounds, that would never be if I wouldn't have let go of that in my heart. And I want to say this, the men I'm referring to today are still some of the finest men I've ever met. It was my privilege to serve with them. It was our separation that I see now was my path forward to where Yahweh wanted me to be. That's holy forgiveness. You have to make that choice. If there is something in your heart today, and you're waiting for somebody to see they've done you wrong, can I give you a new splash, my friend? Every man is right in his own eyes.
The Bible says that. It takes a sovereign act of the Holy Spirit to convince a man he's done someone wrong, including me. But even if they don't ask, and to this day no one ever has, but you know what? I chose to forgive way back, keep my mouth shut, and the Father has honored me. Our ministry has exploded. Our ministry touches the world now. It is literally exploded. I I dare say if I would not have forgiven those brethren, whether they believe they needed it or not, I felt like I needed to. If I would not have forgiven them, I would still be a miserable, bitter preacher.
In my room, mad at the world that I got left out, that I got removed from the history. It's your choice. You can't do it on your own, I'll tell you. You need a sovereign move of the Holy Spirit in your mind to convince you that if they did it to you, the Father allowed it. Now, who are you going to be mad at now? Have a great day, everybody.
