The Magician & The Messiah Part 11 2/15/25 (Zoom Bible Study)
* 00:00 Amen. Let's go to the book of Luke chapter 6 and verse 20. The book of Luke chapter 6 and verse 20. And we're going to read that Elder Morgan. Now, when we left last week, we left off with Stephen Mumford. Uh we we left off with his journey to America to establish the uh Zadokite priesthood here in the United States of America to bring the message of the uh House of Israel, to bring the message of the Sabbath day, the covenant message right here in the United States of America. Now, my goal tonight was to pick up there and move us forward. But, I made uh a colossal mistake in this lesson that I've got to go back and fix tonight uh because I left out maybe the most important group of people in our history that I did not talk about and I did not teach you about. I've got to correct that because they are the pivotal part of the chain. As a matter of fact, let's see where that book is. I think I Oh man, where is that book? Oh. Oh, here they are. All right. Now, the lesson I'm going to teach. Tonight will not even do justice to this subject, but I'm going to touch on it. And we're going to go back. Now, we will go forward a little bit tonight later, but I've got to go back and introduce you to the group of people that really connects it all together. I don't never know how I overlooked them. I'm very well aware of them. I have a book about them in my library. I've read it two times. And so, how I left them out is just beyond me. So, that has to be corrected tonight. So, we're going to begin that correction by explaining a verse of scripture that very few people. People truly comprehend the meaning of it. And who Yeshua was talking to when he said these words. We've read it a thousand times, every one of us. But, tonight we're going to understand it. Elder Morgan, Luke chapter 6 and verse 20. Amen. Then he looked upon his disciples and said, "Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of Yahweh.". All right. So, Yeshua says there is only one group of people that the kingdom belongs to. Now, the remember the word kingdom is the word government. So, Yeshua said that the government will be given to one group of people. The poor. Now, immediately our carnal minds think, "Okay, only poor people are going to inherit the kingdom of God.". And that's just not true. Um, but I'll tell you what is true. Yeshua was speaking to the Zadokite priesthood. And I'll prove it to you tonight. Now, the earliest name that we have for the Zadokite priesthood in the New Testament is the the Nazarenes or the Notzari. Those were the That's the very first. That's the purest that you're going to find anywhere is the Nazarenes. However, after the Nazarenes, there was another group of people that took the place of the Nazarenes that we did not talk about and they actually existed during the time of the apostles. So, the Nazarenes sort of morphed into another name. We've never discussed that name before, but we're going to do it tonight. The name that they morphed into is this right. Here, the Ebionites. The Ebionites. If you don't have this book by John Buzac, I I I do recommend it. I don't agree with everything in it, but I do recommend it. But anyway, the Ebionites were the morphed version of the Nazarenes. And we're going to talk about the Ebionites tonight because their name Ebion, e b I o n, comes from a Hebrew word. And I'm going to share that Hebrew word with you now on your screen. The Hebrew word is Evyon. Evyon. And the word Ebion comes from Evyon. And it simply means poor. Wow. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. The poor were the evyon or the evyons or the ebions. They were the poor. It comes from the Hebrew number Strong's Hebrew number 34. Poor, needy, or in want. Now, the root of evyon is ava, the Hebrew word ava. That's the root of evyon. And it's in the sense of want in your feelings. Destitute, a beggar, needy, poor. This word appears 61 times in the Hebrew scriptures, in the Psalms, the prophets, especially Isaiah and Amos. What does that tell you immediately? Isaiah and Amos was written to the lost tribes of Israel. And you're going to find that word evyon in those two books a lot. It's also in the Torah, Exodus and Deuteronomy. So, what does the root meaning ava, what is the very root of evyon? It's to desire, to long for, to want. So, the only ones that are getting the kingdom is those that long for it, desire it, and want it. Amen. Hallelujah. And in the midrash, the word evyon, it says because an evyonite or an evyon longs for everything. So, let's read the words of Christ again, shall we? Let's go back to Luke 6:20. Blessed are the ebionites or the evyonim. The ones that long for, desire, and want the kingdom of God. For theirs is the kingdom. Hallelujah. Amen, Apostle. Amen. Wow. He's not talking about how much money you have in your pocket. He's talking about how you long for the kingdom. Blessed are the Ebionites. Blessed are the Evyon, are the Evyonim in Hebrew. The ones that want it all. That's what the Midrash says. These These people want it all. They They desire and long for everything that Yahweh has promised them. Blessed are the Evyonim. Blessed are the Ebionites. For theirs is the kingdom of God. They don't just desire salvation. They long for the kingdom. I could stop right there because that's enough to make me satisfied in my soul. Blessed are the Ebionites, the Nazarenes, the Evyonites, the Evyonim, the ones that want it all. Hallelujah. For theirs is the kingdom of Yahweh. Hallelujah. Oh, halle- Is there anybody here tonight. That's Evyon? Is there anyone here tonight that wants it all? Is there one that desires it all tonight? Apostle does. Oh, hallelujah. The Bible says blessed are you. Blessed are you. Yours is the kingdom. The The Pastor Vaughn, how do I know that I'm going to be in the kingdom? How do I know. I'm going to be in the government? One answer. Thank you, Elder. You just got to want it. Hallelujah. HALLELUJAH. IF YOU WANT IT, IT'S YOURS. OH, blessed be y'all. But now that brings us to another sad point. Nobody wants it. No Christian wants it. Christians don't want the kingdom. They want the king. They want the Christ, but not the Christed. They want. They want the man, Yeshua, but not the kingdom to rule and reign over the earth. They have no desire for it. They'll tell you point-blank. By the way, where's Elder Call? I didn't see him. I hope they're all right. They'll tell you point-blank that they have no desire to rule and reign. None whatsoever. No desire. They don't want it all. They're not Ebionim. They're not Ebionite. And that's something that we have to understand. You've got to want it all to get it all. You have to want it all to get it all.
* 10:52 Now the Midrash, which is an basically like. And by the way, let me clear up. Some things real quick about the Talmud and the Midrash. They get a bad rap among the Christian church, those documents. But all that the Talmud is and all that the Midrash is is the very same thing that most of you have in your bookcase, a Bible commentary. Anybody have commentaries from, you know, all the commentaries where it just comments on the scripture? That's what the Talmud is. It's not authoritative. It is commentary on the Torah and the Midrash. Well, according to the rabbis and the sages that commented on that, they said that the evyon, what the what it boils down to, they long for everything. They're not people that lack money. But he's the one that desires, who yearns, and feels his need very deeply. And that's why the term Ebionites, they were known as the poor. The Ebionites were the poor. They were the evyon. In other words, everything they had did not satisfy them. They longed for it all. Their money didn't satisfy them. Nothing satisfied them. They wanted it all. They wanted everything Yahweh had for them because they were poor in spirit. And so we need to understand. When we're reading. These verses, blessed are the poor in spirit, for they shall inherit the earth. The earth is the kingdom. And that's what so many Christians don't understand. The kingdom of God is planet Earth in its restored nature. And somebody's got to long for it. And what's so sad is our churches is filled with rich people. And this is what Yeshua meant when he told Laodicea, you say that you are rich and have need of Anybody want to finish that for me? Nothing. You don't need anything. You know why? You're not poor. Hallelujah. You're not poor. You don't desire anything more than to speak in tongues or to have good church. That's your You You. You're not poor. You've got it all. You've got your ticket to heaven. You You've got it all. You got everything. You're not You're not. There's no more longing in your heart. Because let's be honest, if you're a Christian, if you've gotten salvation, you've arrived. You're not poor anymore. But there are some people that have not arrived. They're striving every day to suffer with Christ that they might reign with Christ. They're poor in their spirit. They still have a longing. They still have a longing. A grandmother wrote a song years ago, "I'm homesick for the kingdom. I've got a longing to go to that beautiful city where Yeshua I'll know. In my heart, nothing satisfies on anything that I've relied. Oh, I'm homesick for the kingdom. I've got a longing to go. That longing is what makes you poor in spirit. When you quit longing for the kingdom, you're no longer poor. You've got it all. I want to preach to you tonight. I want to ask you from the bottom of my heart, is that longing still in your heart? If it's still there, you're an Ebionite. If it's still there, you're an Ebionite. Oh. Hallelujah don't ever lose the longing no matter how much knowledge and understanding you get remember what I'm telling you you will see in part forever until you see him face to face hallelujah and that is the longing of our heart. The moment you lose the longing to see our savior. The long the moment you lose the longing to sit with him to rule with him rain with him. You're no longer poor and don't ever. Let it happen to you saints long in the depths of your heart to see him face to face. Now. Let's look at the word evyone just a moment in the Hebrew scripture. The book of Amos chapter 2 verse 6. We're going to read that Amos chapter 2 and verse 6 blessed are the evyonites. For theirs is the kingdom of God that's just beautiful to me oh hallelujah. Hallelujah. Let's read that Amos chapter 2 and verse 6 amen thus saith Yahweh for three transgressions of Israel and for four I will not turn away the punishment thereof because they sold the righteous for silver and the poor and the poor for a pair of shoes. Let's read that again they sold the righteous for silver and the evyone for a pair of shoes amen in other words. The lost tribes the reason they were punished not for three not for four not for three or four transgressions were they punished but they lost their poorness in spirit. They lost the longing for their inheritance, and they sold their longing for a pair of shoes. First, let's go to Psalm. 72. Verse 12. Psalm 72. Verse 12. Let's follow this word evyon and see the mind of Yahweh concerning it. Amen. For he shall deliver the needy. Let's change. That word. >> >>. He shall deliver the evyon. He shall deliver the evyon when he crieth. The evyon also and him that hath no helper. If you don't have any helper but Yahweh, if you don't have a healer but Yahweh, if you don't have a banker but Yahweh, if you don't have a lawyer but Yahweh, he'll help you. You understand you're poor. You're poor. YOU'RE POOR. YOU LONG FOR HIM. OH, I long.
* 18:31 The old gospel song, I long for him. And I knew not what I longed for. I searched for him. I knew not what I was searching for until I found him. I knew that I would search no more. He filled that longing down in my heart. He said, "If you're hungry for me, then I'll help you. If you're poor, I'll help you.". The Father only helps the poor. Do you understand that? When you are rich and have need of nothing, he's not your helper. But when you say, "No, no, I want it all, I don't have enough, I don't have I'm poor. No, Lord, I'm not rich. I don't have enough. I don't have enough of the gospel. I don't have enough of the kingdom. I don't have enough of the transformation into the image OF CHRIST. I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH YET. I'm still poor. Oh, hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Psalm. 74:21 Oh, let not the oppressed return to shame. Let the Evyon and Both. Both the Evyon and the Evyon and the Evyon praise thy name. Only the Evyon will praise your name. Do you know. Why? We're poor. We still need a healer. We still need a helper. We still need a God. We still need a savior. We still need instruction. We still need mana. We We will praise him because we are poor. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Isaiah chapter 41. Verse 17. And now when you read these scriptures, oh, have you ever read these scriptures in the Bible about the poor and thought, well, you know, I'm really not poor poor. Uh You know, God don't love me cuz. The Bible. The Bible said he's drawn to the poor. We automatically think of poor. That's carnal. Oh, no, he's drawn to the Evyon. Hallelujah. The ones that want it all. Amen, Apostle. I don't know about you, but I want it. I want it all. I want to know everything. I want to understand everything. I want to walk in obedience to every commandment, the least of them. I want it all. That's the poor in spirit. They shall see Yahweh. Amen. Praise y'all. Hallelujah. Maybe. I'm the only one excited about being poor tonight. Oh, no, Apostle. I'm excited. I'm one of them. I'm one of them. I'm Evian. I'm the Evian. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. We used to sing an old gospel song. Said, I'm a poor poor rich man. Oh, I'm a poor poor rich man. Don't you see. It really happened to me? And I'm a millionaire. Well, I know that I'm poor, but I've got a lot more than many rich folks that I know. I just got acquainted with some poor. Rich folks just a little while ago. Hallelujah. I'm a poor rich man. Amen. I want to stay poor. Hallelujah. >>. That's what brings it out of my spirit. Come on, Elder. I'm a poor rich. Well, I'm really not a rich man, but you get the point. I'm richer than poor. How about that? Amen. I'm one of them. Isaiah 41:17. >> Amen. Amen. This is good, Apostle. Thank you, Elder. It's really making sense of something. Yeshua said, but I I'm. You might go there. And I don't want to jump ahead. >> If I don't bring it up. Yes, sir. But um verse 17, when the Evian and the Evian seek water and there is none and their tongue faileth. For thirst, hallelujah. I Yahweh will hear them. Hallelujah. I, the Elohim of Israel, will not forsake them. HALLELUJAH. OH, WHY? BECAUSE THEY'RE. Seeking for water. Why? They want it all. You see? They want it all. They are thirsty. They are hungry. And that's the only ones that Yahweh said, I will give them water. If If here tonight and you're like, "Pastor, why does everybody else not see this?". They're not poor. Do you understand? They don't want to know any more than they know. They are rich. Let's go read that scripture. It's an indictment against the Laodicean church. And this is the This is the the church age that we now live in. And it's in the Book of Revelation. Let's go look at it. Revelation chapter 3 verse 17. This is why Yahweh is against the end-time church. Amen. Because thou sayest, "I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing.". >> Listen to that carefully. I have need of no more revelation. I'm a Christian. I'm saved. I gave my heart to Christ. I have need of nothing else. I have it all. Well, according to him, you don't even realize that you're wretched. You're miserable. You're poor. You're blind, and you're naked. You have nothing if you think you have it all, because the poor never have it all. Hallelujah. The poor is always seeking for water, which is the revelation of the word. And he said, "Those that their tongue thirst for this, I will hear them.". Now, I want you to notice that the Hebrew has two words for poor. Two different words for poor. When you see the word afflicted, it's the Hebrew word "ani", A N I. You can look that up in your blue letter Bibles. Now, that is an external condition. That is people that are truly physically poor. They are the ani, a n i. But evyon is not external. Evyon is needy, wanting, desiring. And that's an internal state. So, the ani is poor on the outside, but the evyon is poor on the inside. And both words appear together. As a matter of fact, the word we just read in Isaiah 41:17, when the ani and the evyon seek water. Those that are that are that are under under oppression on the outside, and then those that are inwardly dependent upon Yahweh. And brothers and sisters, the Hebrew word evyon is still used in modern Hebrew today. Every time at the feast of Purim, they give gifts to the evyon or the needy. So, that term is still in the Hebrew language today. Now, in the Jewish encyclopedia, it tells us that the early Christians, that means the original Christians, preferred to call themselves ebion, e b I o n, which is evyon. They preferred the title of the poor. That was the that literally when you ask them what their religion was. They called themselves Ebion. We're the poor. If I was to translate that into our vernacular, if you said to them, what is your religion? They would have said, I'm hungry for more truth. That's my religion. I'm hungry. I don't have enough brother Attilio. I want more. I want it all. I'm desperate to know him in the fullness of his revelation. Hallelujah. So Yeshua literally in Luke. Chapter 6 pronounced a blessing on these original Ebionite Nazarenes. When he said in Luke 6 and 20, blessed are the Ebionim. That's the word he used. Blessed are the Ebionim. For yours is the kingdom of Yahweh. What a promise. What a promise. What a promise. What a promise. Hallelujah. Blessed are you poor ones. Now, let's follow the Ebionites. A little bit if we can. And by the way, the book is this thick. There's no way. I can even begin to scratch the surface, but I'll give you a few highlights. Let's go to the book of Acts chapter 4. Elder Morgan. And we're going to read verse 32 through verse 35. I'm going to show you what the original church looked like. And we must return to this mindset. Now, these were the Ebionites, the Nazarenes. And I want to show you the way they thought. They were so desperate for the kingdom of God, they thought it was coming in their lifetime. So much so that they went and sold everything they had. They went sold their houses, their land, and they all moved into one cult house together or I'm sorry, one common house together, and lived together as one body. Why? Because that's all they wanted was the body. All they wanted was to be together. All they wanted was to be waiting together and working together. And so I'm very concerned about some of you that have no desire to be together. You worry me.
* 29:38 I don't think you're apostolic. I really don't. I I think you're American. And Americans have no place in the kingdom of God. None. None. Only Evyonim. Only Ebionites. Only Nazarenes. Oh, only the Ophlites. Only only all all That's it. Only they will inherit the the because if we're going to be ruling together, then we might be able to get together. Now. Hallelujah. I just I want to encourage you. If you live in a region that has a gathering, you wild horses couldn't keep me away. Why? I'm kingdom-minded. I'm not individual-minded. I'm apostolic. And I'm going to ask you all to read these verses with me and see if you could have fit in that apostolic era. Let's find out. Let's read about it. 32 through 35. Amen. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul. Let that stop. Now, I want everybody to percolate. Let that percolate. You know what percolate means, right? Let that just bubble. All of them that believed were of one heart and one mind. Read. Neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own. There was no individuality. There was none that said I'm serving God in my house behind my Zoom camera. It's me and my four and no more. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. They didn't know that mindset. They had not been Americanized. No, no, no, they had been kingdomized. Because read the next line. But they had all things common. They were one body. You couldn't separate them. Read. Verse. 33. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Yeshua. And great grace was upon them all. Neither was there any among them that lacked. >> Oh, not not of them. See? They were not poor. See, that's what I need you to see right there. Nobody was poor. And yet they were poor. That's us, Apostle. >> That's right. >> Come on. There was nobody poor. Nobody went without a ride. Nobody went without their light bill being paid. Nobody went without anything. There was no lack. Nobody was poor. You don't have to be financially poor to serve Yahweh. You have to be spiritually poor to serve Yahweh. Because if you're spiritually poor, everything you own, you could be filthy rich. Everything you have, you don't say that's mine. No, no, no, you're looking for the next person in need to give it to. You understand? You're just you're just a conduit for the money that God gives you. No one lacked anything. I can look across First Harvest Ministries and promise you. No one here will ever lack anything. Because if it's in my bank account, it's in your bank account. I can promise you that. That's the way we operate at First Harvest Ministries. We don't do it like the world. It Nobody here is going without. Ain't nobody going to go. When none OF US LACK, WHY? Because we're poor in spirit. We love one another. Listen, all I have to do as the pastor and the founder of this ministry is mention a need among this assembly. All I have to do is mention it. And honey, there ain't no more need at that point. Why? We have all things in common. Hallelujah. We take care of one another. We're not independent. We're not in separated from one another. We are the kingdom. And brothers and sisters, if this does not describe you, repent for the kingdom of Yahweh is approaching. Repent and TURN AWAY FROM YOUR selfishness and become the body of Messiah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Glory, glory, glory. Let's go lay Go to Galatians. Chapter 2, elder. Did you want to finish reading? >> Yeah, go ahead. Thank you. Yes, sir. Verse 34. Neither was there any among them that lacked. For as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold and laid them down at the apostles' feet. Wow. And dis- and distribution was made unto every man according as he has need. All right, I might as well knock this devil in the head while we're here. They didn't bring their money and give it to a church board. Come on. They went and sold everything. They had and put it in the hands of the apostles and the apostles took care of the people. Amen, apostle. Amen. Don't ever question. The way I do things, honey. I do it by the book. I do it apostolic. We are not Christian, we are apostolic. We do it by the book. They trusted their apostles to take care of the needs of the assembly. And I'll tell you. Let me tell you what else they didn't do. I might as well while I'm here, might as well. Tell you what else they didn't do. They in themselves didn't sell their houses and lands and then go among the assembly and pass that money out to each person as they felt led to do it. No, no, no. They brought it to the apostle and said to the apostles, "You know who has legitimate need. We trust you with it. Here, take care of the people.". Oh, well. I You know what? Hold on. Amen, apostle. That was a good truth. We We've seen that at work here. If you've got an apostle you can't trust with your money, you don't have an apostle, you got a sugar daddy and you need to get out of his ministry. Say that again, apostle. Amen. I I don't look it. Look, Yahweh put me in this position. And there's many people in this room can speak up and testify the money they've received from these hands. You know why? Yahweh trusted me. He knows that a true apostle only has money to take care of the saints in need. And now this is Bible. You can argue with it all day. Long, but you will lose every time. Because this is Bible. It don't go to no finance board, it don't go to no. Well, we need a committee. We don't need no little itty-bitty committee. No, we don't. No, we need apostles. We need men that Yahweh has anointed to take care of the assembly. And that's that's Bible. Now, the problem some of you're having right. Now, you don't believe the Bible. You're so Christian, so American, that you. But not around here. We're going. We're apostolic. We Every decision. I make, I go to two sources, the Torah and the apostolic era. I look and find the way they did it. Amen. Amen. Yeah, this is not goodwill, this is the apostolic will. Amen. I love it, Elder. I was starting to hear crickets on the line. Thank you for chiming in. Hallelujah. Goodwill gives to the people. But the apostolic will trust the man that Yahweh has raised, and that's where Yahweh takes care of the people. There is no one in this assembly, no one that's going to go hungry. No one that's going to have their lights cut off. Why? We have all things in common. We care for one another. We care for those that don't have the money to make it to the feast. We may help. We may Why? We have all things in common.
* 38:40 Amen. And by the way, I had no intention of talking about any of that tonight, but evidently >> testify Hallelujah. He's been good. Galatians 2 and 10, Elder. Now, this is the Jerusalem church. When Paul. When Paul met with James, Peter, and John in Jerusalem, they gave him one commission. Listen to it. Galatians 2 and 10. Elder Morgan. Amen. Okay. Only they would that we should remember the poor or the Evyon. The same which I also was eager to do. So, the the church in Jerusalem. They were the poor. Paul's not telling them, "Let's take care of all. These beggars on the corner.". That's not what Paul was. See, when people read that, "Pastor, we need be out there and No, no, that's not the poor. That's the I need. That's the afflicted. The poor was the church at Jerusalem. The Ebionites, the Nazarenes were the poor, and they told Paul, "While you're out there preaching among the Gentiles, send y'alls money to headquarters to the poor.". Did y'all know your. Bible said any of this? Most people don't know it. They they They. They thought They thought they told Paul to take care of the poor. No. No. No. It brings a whole new meaning to the rich man and the camel. Amen. >>. And the eye of the needle. The eye of a needle, brothers and sisters. And you when you get the meaning of the word poor, you'll start taking care of the poor. The poor is the house of Israel. The poor is those that are poor in spirit, for they shall. Let me tell you something. If you want the blessing of God Yahweh on your life, it ain't throwing your money out on the corner. It's throwing your money into the cathedral, the Kahal, the Ecclesia. That's where you are blessed when you take care of the poor. Amen. Thank you, pastor. Amen. Amen. If people got you down there throwing money out at the drunks on the corner, saying we got to take care of the poor. THE POOR IS IN THE HOUSE OF THE POOR, JERUSALEM. Jerusalem is the poor. We are the Ebionites, the Ebionites, the Ebione. When you grasp that, you'll you'll you'll start understanding why you're called the poor. The Jerusalem church were the poor. As a matter of fact, everywhere Paul went, he took up a collection for the poor. But, the thing is, if you'll read on down there, I believe. In Romans 15, he sent that collection to the church in Jerusalem. Why? Because the church in Jerusalem would then disperse it among the saints. Headquarters. Headquarters, always, always. Romans 15:26, Elder. Let's read that and try to break this down. Some. Amen. For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia Achaia Achaia Achaia to make a certain contri- contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem. The poor saints at Jerusalem. No, the Evyon saints, the ones that wanted all, the ones that are thirsty, the ones that are hungry, they were known as the poor. Now, James chapter 2 verse 5. Let's read this one carefully. This is James the brother of Yeshua. He was the pastor of the Jerusalem church. And here's what he wrote. James 2 and 5. Hearken, my beloved brethren, hath not Yahweh chosen the poor of this world or the Evyon of this world, rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom or the government, which he hath promised to them that love him? Now, how many times have you read that verse and you're like, "When I wa- So, the poor are the only ones rich in faith?". Come on now. The poor, that's the who the kingdom's going to. You got to be poor. You got to be dirt poor. >> sense. I'm trying to, Elder. Uh you got. So, so, James said, "No. The poor are those that are rich in faith.". If you're rich in faith, what does that mean? That means you have need of everything. You got to have faith because you have you don't have enough. You you you you're rich in faith and therefore you're poor. Because if you're not rich in faith, then you're rich in this world. Hallelujah. But those that are poor are rich in faith. Their trust their bank account might be full. Look at me. You want to see what this spirit. Your bank account may be to where you'll never go broke. You know you're settled. And yet you fall on those knees every morning. Father, I'm poor. I have need of you today. I have need of every need being supplied by you. I realize the money in my bank account, they could shut those banks down tomorrow. The gold in my vault could be stolen overnight. My help comes from you, oh Yahweh. Oh, let me always be poor in spirit. May I always belong to the Ebionim. Oh, hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Now, let me show you something. As we progress past the Ebionite era and we come into the early church fathers like Origen, I'm going to show you what Origen wrote in 212 AD. Now, Origen was a Catholic church father, well known and well quoted by all theologians. Let me show you how Origen referred to these Ebionites. And you'll begin to see the hatred that is already begun among the church in Rome and the church at home. Let's look at it. Origen. This is him. Origen said, "The Ebion signifies poor among the Jews, and those Jews that have received Jesus as Christ are called by the name of Ebionites. But notice how he mocks them next. But it's referring to the poverty of their understanding because they refuse to accept the Christology of the ruling church.". >> >> He said, "Yeah, they're poor because they don't believe like we do about who Jesus Christ is.". He said, "They're poor in their understanding of Christ because they don't believe as the church believes about Christ. I'm one of them. I'm poor. I'm My understanding's real poor according to the Catholic Church because we don't accept their Christology. So, they mock the Ebionites, the poor. In other words, they're lacking up here. That's That's what Origen said. They're lacking in their understanding of who Christ is. Poor in understanding. And then Eusebius in 340 AD is writing about these Ebionites. And here's what Eusebius said. The poverty. He says that the Ebionite means poor, but he says it's the poverty of the law that they cling to. Or their poor opinions that they hold concerning Christ. Oh, yes. The Ebionites, your forefathers, had a poor. They were poor, but only because they were poor, they held on to the law, and they did not believe that Yeshua was God. Tertullian Tertullian in 220 AD wrote about the Ebionites. Epiphanius of Salamis wrote about him in 375 AD about Ebion. And uh then a thousand years later, beloved brothers and sisters, 1,000. Years later, there was another group of people that came forward. I've taught you about these people. I'm going to see if you can find the connection real quick. It's a test. A thousand years later, we find these same Ebionites and another group of people, and they have the exact same name as the Ebionites. I'm waiting. I'm waiting. Waldensians? Ooh, okay, then you've got it right, but that's not what I'm looking for. But that's Say it again. Nazarene The Waldensians was correct, but I'm looking for what the Waldensians >> Anabaptist Say it again. Anabaptist. No, with the Waldensians, but what were the Waldensians names?
* 50:11 Yes. Come. On. Come. On. The Waldays. They were known as the poor men of Lyons. Okay. Yes. >> >> Oh, yeah. Mhm. Remember when Waldo, Peter Waldo, left France? He brought with him the poor men of Lyons, France. They were known as the what? The poor. It's the same name. It's the Evian name all the way over in France. The poor. Hallelujah. Oh, hallelujah. And they became the Waldensians. They joined up with those people in the valley and became the Waldensians because they were the poor men of Lyons. They were also called the poor in Christ or the poor in spirit. So there is the Waldensians. Now, I want to show you that these poor ones were blessed by Yeshua, but their history was buried. And as we study them, we want to look now give me 1 second. I want to pull up another. I believe this is the one I'm looking for. No, not the one I'm looking for. Hold on. >> All right. Now, we want to go through exactly what these Ebionites believed, and let's see how the Apostolic Assembly compares with them. Now, remember, we have all the documents of what they believe. So, we're going to compare now the teaching of the Ebionites that came up through the Waldensians, and let's trace it back to see what they believed after they left Jerusalem. After they left Jerusalem, they went to a place called Pella, p e l l a, in 66 AD. The Ebionites did. Now, does anybody want to tell me what happened in 70 AD, 4 years later? The temple was destroyed. >> Jerusalem. But, guess who leaves Jerusalem? Guess who leaves Jerusalem in 66 AD? The uh Ebionites. They left Jerusalem in 66 AD. Now, let me show you why, because they're poor in spirit. They were rich in faith, and they believed the prophecy and the word of Yahweh. Oh, yes. They were so poor, they believed. They remembered the words of Yeshua. He said, "Pray not that this happen on the Sabbath day.". He said that this time was coming, and he told them, and so they left in 66 AD. They were a lot like me and you. They were watchers. They were counting the days. Hallelujah. And they left. Now, um let me read to you. What Eusebius wrote in 340 AD, some 250 years later, and I'm quoting. The whole body of the poor at Jerusalem having been commanded by a divine revelation given to the apostles. Just before the war, they moved from the city and dwelt at a certain town beyond the Jordan called Pella. P E L L A. Now, this I found to be amazing. If you want to know what the coming of Christ is going to look like the second time, simply look at this story. Okay? There was a divine revelation that came to the apostles at Jerusalem and they moved out of Jerusalem 66 AD. And then another writer by the name of Epiphanius confirmed it. He said, "Christ had told them to leave Jerusalem and to depart since it was about to suffer siege, and for this reason, after settling in Perea or Pella, they were living there. For when the city was about to be taken and destroyed by the Romans, it was revealed in advance to the apostles by an angel of Yahweh that they should remove from the city. Now, let me make this make sense for you. They had a prophecy from Christ 70 years earlier or 40 years earlier that this was going to happen, right? That not one stone would be left on the other, right? Okay. However, Christ has been gone a long time. A long time. And many had forgotten that prophecy. Come on now. But at the end of their day, God sent in Elijah, an angel, a messenger, a voice to reveal to them what had already been said, but to remind them of truth, and it was that angel of Yahweh that revealed to the apostles of the church to go get some land outside of the city and get out of town. Hallelujah. Amen. Amen, Apostle. Or things change or they stay the same. Now, all the Jews that rejected Christ, do you know the only Jews that were saved in AD 70? They were not raptured, they were protected. It was the poor in spirit. The ones that believed and they never quit watching. They never quit keeping the feast. They never quit counting the calendar. That My God, do you see it? And they were spared, and they were protected in the time of trouble. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. After their pastor died in 62 AD, James that the Jerusalem church was led by Simeon, a relative of Yeshua, and that congregation remained faithful. And because they were faithful, the angels of destruction called the Roman army was told, "Hurt not the oil, the wheat, and the wine. Don't hurt them. They're marked. They're poor in spirit. They had enough faith to keep believing. They had enough faith to watch. They had enough faith to not forget. The promises of God is yay and amen. I'm talking to people tonight that are poor in this room, poor in spirit. You still want it all. You're believing it all. You've not forgot the good promises of God. YOU'VE NOT FORGOTTEN ALL. THAT THE KING IS COMING AND FOR THOSE OF YOU, you will be protected in the time of trouble. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. >> Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
* 58:46 After the temple was destroyed in 70 AD, the Ebionites begin to spread. And guess where they spread to. Philip Schaff wrote this. He said, "We find the Ebionites in Asia Minor.". Well, guess what was in Asia Minor. The Apostle John. They went to the Apostle John. And there, brothers and sisters, is where they the seventh-day Sabbath. I'm going to read to you from Eusebius and Epiphanius. Eusebius says that the Ebionites were zealous to insist on the observance of the Torah. That's who the Ebionites were, my friend. He also wrote these words. He said that he knew of Jewish Christians who observed the Jewish Sabbath. They were called Ebionites. Epiphanius wrote these words. There are Jewish Christians even now who keep the Sabbath day holy. That was the first thing they kept alive was the seventh-day Sabbath. I want everybody to hear me. If you ever compromise on the seventh-day Sabbath, you're done. It's over. You you've already fallen and you can't get back up. The seventh-day Sabbath is your keeper. The seventh-day Sabbath keeps you. It's your only protection. It's the moment you start yielding, the moment you yield, the moment you. That's your only protection. That's your seal. That's your sign. Keep it holy. The moment you slack on it, you're in trouble. You don't realize it, but you're already you're done. You're done. Why? Because you cannot survive if you don't guard the Sabbath day. Because if you will guard the Sabbath, the Sabbath will guard you. Always remember that. That's your guard not for salvation, but for the kingdom. That's your guard. All right? Now, let's discuss the second thing that we have historical records that show us what the Ebionites taught. Epiphanius wrote these words. They celebrated a commemorative meal annually on Passover with unleavened bread in contrast to the daily Eucharist. I'm one of them. That's my people right there. These people, 300 years after Jerusalem, are still keeping Passover on the 14th day, and they're not doing a daily Eucharist. They are not doing a daily communion. In this ministry, please hear me. If you are taking a daily communion, you are total opposite of apostolic faith. We only partake. Now, if you just want to eat bread and drink wine, go ahead. But if you're partaking of the Lord's body and his blood, it only transforms, it only becomes that at the Passover. That's it. That's it. And I'm one of those people. I'm one of them. That's what the Waldensians practiced, the Ebionim practiced it, the Nazarenes practiced it, the Ophites practiced it, all the way through. And that's who we are. That is our identity. All right? Number three. Eusebius wrote, They observed Jewish feasts and were very on their calendar, including the Passover, which they celebrated in accordance with Jewish customs rather than the Christian practice of Easter. I'm one of them. That's my people, y'all. That's my people. They observed the feast instead of Easter. And they were strict on their calendar. They were focused on their calendar. So, we have proof that the Ebionites did not celebrate Easter. I'm one of them. I've been identified. I've been identified, children. Amen. >> I've been identified. Amen to that. I've taken my stand. I've chosen my side. No longer lost, but identified. Hallelujah. Oh, I've been identified. Yes, I have. >> Beautiful. Number four, they kept the Torah. Here's what Eusebius wrote. The Ebionites were zealous to insist on the observance of the law. Now, number five is where it gets really, really, really interesting. Irenaeus in 180 AD wrote the following. I about jumped out of my seat when I saw this. Here's what Irenaeus wrote about these Ebionim or these Ebionites. Because I thought we was the only ones that ever believed this. I thought we was the only one that believed that Yahweh had to use the seed of a physical man. Woo, let's read it. The Ebionites held to a strange doctrine that Yeshua was the son of Joseph and Mary in the ordinary sense of the word. Wow, I'm one of them. Mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama. I never I never knew nobody in our history believed that. I thought that was some new end time revealed truth. That Yahweh, the Holy Spirit, took the natural seed and transformed that DNA and repaired it and recreated Adam through the ordinary sense of the word. And he goes on to say, and I'll quote, He said the Ebionites held to a Christology that rejects the claim that Jesus was a divine being, God the Son, at any stage in his earthly life or in preexistence, nor did they believe in incarnation. And instead, they presented him as a righteous human being who through faithful observance of the Torah was adopted by Yahweh at his baptism to fulfill the role of prophet and Messiah. I'm telling you that sure sounds like some teaching. I've heard around here before. Subordinationist. That's what they taught. That's what they taught, brothers and sisters. That's the Ebionim. That's what they taught, that's what they believed, that's what the Waldensians taught and believed. So, the Ebionites believed that Yeshua was the son of Yahweh. He was not God the son. He was fully human, the last Adam. He was anointed by Yahweh or adopted by Yahweh at his baptism. And he was the Davidic Messiah, the rightful king. And then number six, Eusebius said they rejected the Trinity. Number seven, now this is interesting. Listen to this. This is interesting. The Ebionites, like other Jewish Christian movements, revered James, the brother of Yeshua, as the leader of the early Jerusalem church. As the true successor to Yeshua, not Peter. And then, then to John the Apostle. They believed that apostolic succession did not go to Rome, it went through Asia. And that's exactly what we believe. So, let me go through the list. One more time, what the Evionite believed. Yahweh, one God. Yeshua, son of God. Trinity, rejected. Sabbath, observed. Passover, observed. Physical feast, observed. Easter, rejected. Christmas, rejected. Dietary law, observed. And James the Just and John the Apostle, the successors of Yeshua, and that the holy city was Jerusalem and not Rome. And that is what they believe. Now, the Ebion or the Ebionites did not survive in history because they were persecuted out of existence by the Gentile Catholic Church. And then after 135 AD, many of the Jewish Christians that were residing at Pella renounced their Jewish practices and joined the Christian Church. Those that remained at Pella continued in obedience to the law and they were deemed heretics. However, we find them a thousand years later among the Waldensians. Now, now that I've went back and corrected a fatal error in my teaching and filled in that gap, Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Amen. You're welcome. Welcome. Welcome. Now I want to bring cuz. I've got about 10 minutes left. Now I want to fast forward, catch back up with Stephen Mumford where we left off last week. So, now we have a clear chain all the way to the United States of America and that's very, very important that we're able to follow that chain. Now, I just want to refresh your memory on Stephen Mumford so that uh we can catch you up. Remember that uh he was a member of the Bell Lane 7th Day Baptist Church in London in 1668. That's 100 years before 1776. Just to try to show you where we are. And we know that he came to Rhode Island. And the reason he came to Rhode. Island is because the founder of Rhode Island, Roger Williams, had founded the colony on the principle of religious liberty. And we have documents that show the 7th Day Baptists in Rhode Island were co-laborers with Roger Williams. So, let me try to pick up the pieces here and help you see where we are. The um bear with me. 1 second. Second. 1 second. 1 second. Want to pull something else up here. Because I want to bring you the chain from Mumford. Yeah, here we go. Let's pick back up with Mumford real quick.
* 01:12:05 When he got to America and opened the first Baptist Church, the first 7th Day Baptist Church, uh him in 1665 accepted. The the several people accepted the Sabbath truth. Among them was Samuel Hubbard and Tacy Hubbard. Their daughter, Rachel Langworthy, William Hiscox and Roger Baister. For several years, these Sabbath keepers remained in the Baptist Church under great tension. They did like many of you try to do. They tried to stay in Babylon and still keep the Sabbath. And um but, in 1669, the Baptist Church began preaching against the Sabbath day. And in 1671, the pastor of that church told all Sabbath keepers to leave. Therefore, December the 23rd, 1671, the first Seventh Day Baptist Church in America was created with Stephen Mumford and Mumford, Samuel Hubbard, Tacy Hubbard, Rachel Langworthy, William Hiscox, Roger Baster. William Hiscox became the first pastor. He served for 33 years until he died in 1704. And here is his testimony. Within 20 years, about 76 names were added to the covenant relationship. They didn't call them members of the church. I love that. They were partners. Covenant relationship, which spread out to places such as Westerly, Rhode Island, New London, Connecticut. The partnership included, now listen to this carefully, American Indians as well as English colonists. The Indians were accepting the Sabbath day message in 1704. The Sabbath truth had taken root in the New World. From Newport, Rhode Island, the Sabbath spread in three distinct lines. You need to follow these three lines. It all come from Newport. Now, I want to go to Newport and put my feet there. Uh, I want to go there. Now, Newport, Rhode Island. I just want to put my feet there where the mother church in America, the mother Sabbath church, that's where it was. And uh the the there's three lines that split or comes out of Rhode Island. Now, remember, Newport was the mother church headquarters, and it spread to Westerly, Hopkinton, Rhode Island. And the church in Hopkinton was formed in 1708. But then, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Abel Noble was a Sabbath minister from London. He arrived in 1684. He settled near Philadelphia and established a church in 1700, 76 years before the Revolutionary War. And there he labored among the German Baptists, the German Seventh-Day Baptist at a town called Ephrata, Pennsylvania. That was the second stream of Sabbath-keeping in America. The third one is in Piscataway, New Jersey, or Piscataway, New Jersey. Edmund Dunham organized a church with 17 members in 1705. Now, while the English Seventh-Day Baptists, Now, you have two sets of Baptists. You have the English Seventh-Day Baptists. There was another movement rising among the German immigrants. And remember this name, Conrad Beissel. Conrad Beissel founded the Ephrata Cloister in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania around 1732. And now I know why 2 years ago Yahweh would cause this apostle, this servant, to have to put my feet on the Ephrata Cloister. I had no idea what I know today, that was my people. And my feet have touched that ground where Conrad opened that wave that now I am a direct spiritual ancestor of the Ephrata Cloister. I've been there. I've been there, and I went there having no idea where I was going. But I find of all the places on planet Earth that Yahweh put my feet was at the Ephrata Cloister. It was just a random thought. Elder Neffert said, "I want got a place I want to show you.". And we're just riding by and I just get out thinking I'm going to have a beautiful day of taking pictures. But when my feet touched that ground, I knew I was on something special. That Ephrata Cloister, I'm going to show you next week when we pick up. We're going to follow the line from Ephrata Cloister, and when you see where it's going to lead, it it's truly mind-blowing because at that Cloister in 1732, they observed the 7th day Sabbath. They practiced communal living. They produced great hymns. And they had a printing press that printed the Sabbath day message in English and German. And I think I'll stop right there and we'll pick up next week. Thank you for joining me. Shabbat Shalom, everybody. I'm glad. I'm one of them. Oh, that's really good. Shabbat Shalom, everybody. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
