On February 16, 2026, a mass shooting occurred during a high school hockey game at Dennis M. Lynch Arena in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Authorities have identified the 56-year-old suspect as Robert Dorgan. Police confirm he murdered his wife and one of his children before taking his own life. Three additional victims remain in critical condition at a local hospital. According to publicly available social media accounts, Dorgan also went by the name “Roberta” and identified as transgender. On February 10, 2026, a mass shooting occurred at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in British Columbia, Canada. Multiple victims were killed and more than two dozen injured. Authorities have identified the 18-year-old suspect as a former student who publicly identified as female. The suspect was found deceased at the scene from an apparent self-inflicted wound.
