What is the gospel? Pastor Shane Vaughn Shane Vaughn ——— First Harvest Ministries International 1 what is the gospel plain simple you should be able to answer that question whether you're a baby Christian or a fully mature Christian it should not be a hard question to answer what is the gospel now I thought answer that question up until about 10 years ago if you would have asked me what is the gospel I would have responded like this it is the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ that's what the gospel was in my mind and probably that's what it is in yours one day I was reading the New Testament and I kept seeing where Jesus yua was preaching the gospel and I thought to myself if 2 the gospel is the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and yet Jesus Christ is preaching the gospel and he hasn't died he hasn't been buried or resurrected then how could he be preaching the gospel if the gospel is those three things and it was then that I began to notice the Bible tells us specifically what gospel Jesus Christ yua was preaching it says it and he came preaching the gospel of the Kingdom now he was not preaching the gospel of Christ death burial and Resurrection because none of those things had happened but he was preaching good news the word gospel means good news he 3 was preaching good news but it was specifically about something called the kingdom of God or the kingdom of heaven so when we understand that that's the gospel that Jesus preached and yet we're preaching death burial and Resurrection it almost makes you want to figure out what he was preaching the truth is there is the gospel about Christ story his death burial resurrection that is the gospel about Christ but is that the gospel of Christ or in other words the gospel that Christ was preaching the more I began to study the more I found the answer was know that they are totally separate gospels 4 allow me to explain because when I begin to get this in my mind my entire message changed in one moment what moment was that when I found out what the kingdom of God God was that yua Jesus was preaching about his message was simple everywhere he went repent simply means turn around stop breaking my father's law repent for the kingdom of God is at hand now that word at hand in the Greek is approaching the kingdom of God is approaching or coming it was right then that I began to look at many different scriptural texts and in every one it says yua preached the gospel of the Kingdom repent for the 5 kingdom of God is coming well here's the sad truth after 40 years as a Christian I not know what the kingdom of God was I thought I knew I thought it was you know just some maybe a uh a euphemism for uh Paradise or Heaven Or I but when it came down to the kingdom if you were to pin me down I couldn't have told you what the kingdom of God was I thought the kingdom of God was something spiritual etheral something that is out there in the cosmos but no the more I begin to study the books of Daniel and revelation and the gospels I begin to see in The Parables that in fact failed in teaching us 6 about the kingdom of God because the kingdom of God is a physical literal World ruling government that is going to be established here on Earth for a thousand years y Yeshua Jesus the Messiah is going to lead a government over the nation planet Earth boy when I begin to study that and realize that all sudden yua Jesus was preaching all of his life not the death burial and Resurrection although that is part of the story but he was preaching prepare to rule Rule and reign with me in my father's coming Kingdom it is a great uh indictment against the church that we knew so little and know so 7 little about this Thousand Years reign of Christ called the kingdom of God at first Harvest Ministries we have recorded thousands of sermons they're all available on our website fhtv dotv where we teach you about that Kingdom what it's going to be like your role in that Kingdom and I word once you come to understand the true gospel repent for the kingdom of Yahweh is approaching when you get that IES your way of thinking it transforms form you from a lukewarm Christian to an overcomer because now you have something to overcome for you understand the true gospel I wrote a book it's on Amazon 8 it's called The Dream Team by Shane vau you can go find it now and that book will teach you explicitly 200 Pages it will teach you what the kingdom of God is and what it's not thank you for watching
