Shane Vaughn Teaches "Why We Dance - the elements of Perfect Praise" - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUEwjTdvzoI Transcript: (00:01) growing up in the old Pentecostal church we were taught to praise the Lord and there's no doubt about it and I thank God for what we was taught but the church in our day does not know how to praise the Lord and tonight I'm going to go back to the basics and I want to teach you on perfect praise and what it will do in your life because I'm going to say this to everybody in this room God Yahweh is not Burger King God's not Burger King say it again what is Burger King you can have it your way right away the Christian church today is a Burger (01:03) King Church they want it their way right away how many's ever heard someone say brother Vine I worship God in my own way you ever heard somebody tell you that how many's ever said I I worship God in my own way you need to look to them and tell them they don't have a way don't have a way not about you there is a provided way somebody say provided way provided way God has provided a way that he wants praise done and if you spend 30 minutes praising God your way you wasted 30 minutes that's God said their praise is a stink (02:06) in my nostrils they worship but brother V it's worship it's praise why would that be a stink because of your pride your pride says God needs to be thankful I showed up tonight they need to get the music just right for me if they expect me to do a quick little shout once in a while and that is how the church worships if you don't get the drum beat right the church won't worship if you don't get the music the church won't worship why because the church does not understand what God considers perfect praise this min Ministry I have tried (03:02) for the last six years to teach this ministry how to praise the Lord how many of you have walked into our meetings when everybody when we had a full house everybody dancing and uh you know you think in your mind oh God I don't feel like dancing again tonight it's natural you're a human but I want to say this to you I used to be just like that I used to come to church with a chip on my shoulder what do I mean by that what I meant by that is I would praise the Lord if the conditions were right okay yeah you got to get my (03:46) favorite singer up okay you got to get my favorite song going okay you got to make sure somebody I don't like ain't leading the service yeah and then as soon as that emotional High comes I'll run around the church two times for the Lord that's right that is that is praise absolutely but it is not perfect praise and we serve a perfect God we do I want you to hear what I just said we serve a perfect God that demands perfect praise Hallelujah and and tonight we're going to learn what perfect praise is now before we (04:36) read put this in your mind and say this out loud with say these words what I like what I like don't matter matter there is no such thing as cultural praise either now hold on ain't no black praise and no white praise amen ain't no Indian praise Ain no see oh I go to the black church we praise like this I if you well if it's not perfect praise that ain't praise I go over to the white church we praise I tell you if it don't line up with the word tonight God won't accept it you wasted your energy you should have went to the ball (05:22) game because if when somebody tells there's two lies being told today go to the church of your choice that's a lie go to the church Church of God's choice I'm going to say it again you better find the church that's walking in truth that's God's choice how many churches were there in the Book of Revelation how many seven seven churches only two did God call them perfect Smyrna and Philadelphia thank you if I have to choose a church I'm going to those two why they were teaching truth the pastor of one of those churches his name was polycarp I'm (06:06) writing a book about the man right now polycarp was the pastor of the Church of Smyrna and God said his church is perfect so I said now Lord if his church is perfect I might want to study polycarp and see what his church taught and how they worshiped and what they believed you ain't going to believe what I found out when I studied iarp the man preaches the message I preach his church worshiped the way I teach worship wow how do I know it we've got their documents there they were saved where polycarp wrote letters about what he (06:42) believed everything we teach polycarp taught Hallelujah who was polycarp polycarp was the direct disciple of John the Apostle so let's say brother Ricky that that I was John the last living Apostle and you and Elder Smith had sit under my Ministry all these years do you think anybody else in the world would be more qualified to keep my Ministry going what I taught what I preached what I believed in you two well polycarp was that Manu when John died polycarp was appointed pastor of the church and when you go study polycarp's writings he was about (07:27) 80 something years old and one day somebody told him that the church in Rome the Catholic church was going to stop keeping Passover and they were going to start celebrating Sunday Easter oh go read it you ain't got to believe a word I'm saying Google it honey Google it yes sir you want to say something yeah I say go ahead I got a witness right here okay and a few days ago I was uh as I was meditating and uh turn it and as I was studying U the Lord took me to uh where po uh how he preached in what he stood for yeah this is just a few days (08:21) ago look at god with and exactly what you say tonight is the understanding what I got Hallelujah and I wasn't planning on talking about polycarp tonight that just sort of popped in so we know where that came from come on around now polycarp poly carp got in a ship at 80 something years old and went across the ocean to Rome you know why he went there to see the pope knocked on the Pope's door and that old man that original a Apostolic believer yes yeah he told the Pope you can't do it that way that's not the apostles way they kept the (09:05) Passover that is paganism the Pope the pope told polycarp to go back home that he was running things now so polycarp went back home but K polycarp built a church that church believed in God the father and his son that church believed everything this ministry teaches I can prove it from his letters he believed every in a seventh day Sabbath he was a Sabbath keeper I'm telling you God said of all the churches polyc carps was perfect I want to be in that number Hallelujah tonight I want to teach you perfect praise God don't want it your (09:52) way he wants it his way and what is his way let's find out Psalms 14 [Music] 9 verse one praise ye the Lord sing unto the Lord a new song okay let's pause right there if the church you go to is not singing a new song oh we like the hymns brother I do too and they're good they're fine not against the hymns but if there's not a new song coming forth from that platform that's a dead that's a dead uh a dead not river but a dead Pond is what that is because a song is an expression of your experience with God tonight when I begin to sing face to (10:50) face that was a new song it was coming from this what I was experiencing in God so for when somebody tells you I want to go to a church where they just sing the hymns you tell them God likes a new song see your way don't matter well that ain't what I like right I understand and that's the problem you don't like it you do it your way but God said come into my pray and sing me a I don't want I don't want you reaching back in the experiences you had 50 years ago singing that song wait out in the water don't have nothing (11:32) to do with me right now wait in the water wait in the water well I'm not in no water I'm I'm past all that yeah that's but when they wrote that they was experiencing that at that time yes sir they was wanting to wait out in the water but you see now God wants to give the church a new song something that is coming from our current what do you mean a new song brother Von let me give you an example the church sings Some glad morning when this life is over I fly away it's a lie we ain't flying nowhere so it's time to what sing a new (12:23) song I wrote it it's called some glad morning when this life is old over I rule and reain see that's a new song why that's coming from my current understanding of God my current experience in God so God wants a new song now ver then let's read the rest of verse one and his praise in the congregation of the Saints all right now let me preach a minute brother Von I don't have to go to Church to praise God yes you do according to that verse it said in the congregation of the Saints oh wow really I'll praise God at my house there (13:10) ain't no Saints at your house and you probably ain't one either you might want to come to church at least get in the congregation of the Saints no somebody somebody see what he said where does he want you to praise him thank you and I think I think go ahead that that fits when he says do not forsake assembling yourselves AB the the reason because you can't give him perfect praise outside of the congregation yes sir that's why Satan destroys congregations and gets us all stuck at our houses praising the Lord by ourself well (13:53) God don't want praise from you by yourself he wants it in the congregation of the Saints hallelujah oh brother Von you saying I can't praise the Lord take it any way you want to take it I'm reading the Bible he said he wanted perfect praise in perfect Unity with the Saints Hallelujah now the reason I want you to read these verses is because remember I told you how I grew up in our church we would shout about once every month we we'd feel the Holy Ghost and we'd do a shout right that's the way we were raised well in 1999 I went to (14:39) Virginia to that place I showed y'all on the screen tonight the campground of sister Ruth Heins when I got there I was a pastor in New Orleans had a wonderful church I just thought I had arrived and uh I walk in this Tabernacle probably 800 900 people it was full open air Tabernacle and when I walked in when I tell you there was not one human being sitting in the pews anywhere I was like they were all at the front and everybody was dancing before the Lord now here I come and I sit in the back and lo and behold of sister Ruth (15:26) Hein she's gone now God Rest her soul she he looked in the back and said brother V it would be nice if you would join [Music] in what you mean join in I don't feel nothing I don't feel nothing I just walked in the door let me at least show my new suit off for a few minutes you know let me get acclimated let me get let let me let everybody know I'm here I've arrived see that's why God won't take your praise cuz it's about you see so sister Ruth brought me to the front and I did not know how to dance before the Lord all I knew how to do was jerk (16:09) my head off and Shout you know y'all don't know what I'm talking about do you okay okay all right I'm talking about one you that's all I knew how to do that was it and ain't nothing if you're watching me and you do that that's fine I I still do once in a while I think I did a little head jerk a while ago but that's all right but I didn't know how to dance dance and I'll tell you more important than that I did not know that God wanted me to dance because we called it shouting that's not even a Biblical that has (16:41) nothing to do with dancing so I sure enough I came up there and sister Ruth saw that I was struggling I was just doing this and and she comes off the platform with her 500 lb self and Wobbles down there to me and she takes my hand how many of you have I ever taken your hand and taught you how to dance amen all right she did the same thing to me she took my hand and showed me three steps forward and three steps back from that moment to this moment I have never stopped there's not one service I've ever been in that I don't (17:21) dance before the Lord in the congregation why because it's perfect praise it doesn't come from my emotions cuz I don't feel like it but in my mind it don't matter if I feel like it or not God has asked me to show him perfect praise and as a congregation we've got to learn to get back to perfect praise verse number two Let Israel rejoice in him that made him let the children of Zion be joyful in their King stop a minute if the praise that you're off offering God is Not joyful it's not perfect praise brother Von when I worship I cry (18:10) baby I cry when I watch a sad movie that's not worship that's emotions to the music Satan wants you over there somewhere crying because he understands the power of dance he don't want you being joyful I feel like I'm preaching to the wall now a praise that is not joyful is not perfect praise it's got to be joyful you got to walk in those doors the Bible said come into His presence with what Thanksgiving and his courts with praise so if you walk in and you are not joyful if you're sitting let me tell you something in the future I've not (18:52) enforced it in a while cuz we've been scattered but when we start coming back together there is not one Sabbath service ever where there will not be joyful dancing in every service otherwise we wasted our time the Bible didn't say keep the Sabbath it said celebrate my Sabbath you're not just here to keep it you've come to celebrate it verse three let them praise His name and the what Dan bottom line I don't have to say nothing else it's in the word praise His name and he tells you the first way to do it with joyful (19:35) dancing it's in the book now let me ask you a question everybody on the camera Watch Me on YouTube I got a question for you if you go to the congregation of the Saints and you didn't dance hold on now did you give God a perfect praise you wasted everybody's time if you're not dancing you're in [Music] Rebellion oh brother v i I gotta I'm not gonna put on a show for nobody all right then put on one for God how about that okay I ain't gonna get up there and fake it all right then get up there and and and and and act like you faking and (20:20) do something show God that you're going to give him the praise that he asked for not the one you wanted to give him right all right thank you you sis verse four for Yahweh takes pleasure in his people did you hear that Yahweh takes pleasure in his people when you're dancing before the Lord you are giving him pleasure all right verse number five let the Saints be Joy rful don't be in a corner mourning Lord him you help me I'll be all right oh Lord if you help me I'll be all right what who what is that what is that (21:20) I sound like bullfrogs that ain't joyful that's painful the joy of the Lord is your strength now we're getting somewhere verse five verse uh let them sing real quietly out loud what out loud what sing what loud how many's ever y'all know how many people tell me I sing too loud tell them to tell God he said tell them to sing real loud oh we we don't like it loud I know because it's all about you I don't know how some of you is going to go to the kingdom of God you talk about loud rejoicing day and night all right verse (22:11) number six let the high praises of God be in their mouth and a two-edged sword in their hand I want to preach to you tonight about high praises yes sir Praises is not what he wants he wants High [Music] Praise because when you put a High Praise in your lips you've put a sword in your hand my God yeah your praise is your sword your praise is your power over the enemy yes sir a High Praise a high praise there's a difference in your praise and a High Praise somebody right now somebody give him a High Praise thank you (23:06) Hallelujah come on everybody come on Hallelujah that's what he wants if you're in a church that's not doing it that way you're not in a high praised church now why does he want you to praise him so that you can ex verse seven execute vengeance upon the Heathen and Punishment upon the people to bind their King with change who is their King Satan I'm getting ready to preach to you now when you get the High Praise of God in your mouth it binds the king thank you Satan somebody said one day we're going to see Satan bound I agree but I'm (24:00) fixing to teach you how to go ahead and bind him up right now sir and the way you do it is with the High Praise of God on your lips not with some sad song The Devil loves sad but if you want to if you want to aggravate people be joyful and have faith that's it hey thank you I just set a mouthful thank you if you want to aggravate everybody in your family at Christmas thank you be joyful and have a lot of faith they don't want you know why they don't want to be around you they're heathens and their father Satan who they (24:38) came from despises the joy of the Saints because it's something that the world don't have they don't know anything about it it's a gift to the congregation the joy of the Lord and Satan W your joy [Music] to bind their kings why did he say put a High Praise in your mouth so that you can bind the king with chains and the Nobles that's the fallen angels with feathers of iron to execute upon them the Judgment written this honor has all the saints praise ye the Lord this honor what honor the honor of finding the power of the enemy oh with your (25:33) praise not just any praise perfect praise High Praise High Praise High Praise why do you think everywhere I go I looked the other night at Bishop Chris Reed's church and everybody was dancing and I thought you know they didn't do that before they met us I looked at brother white the other night they're all dancing this ministry has taught dance because there's a power in dancing that gives you power over the king over the enemy of the people God wants the congre why does he why does he want praise in the congregation of the Saints (26:12) because he wants together praise Unity praise there's more power in the congregation when we dance together when we Rejoice together you see this ministry focuses now let me talk to you about this this ministry is famous for the word Millennium Reign we always talk about the coming kingdom of God we keep the Sabbath because it shows us the coming Kingdom we keep the holy days because they show us the coming Kingdom let me tell all of y'all something all you look at me in the camera all you bunch of Sabbath Keepers around the (26:53) world listen if you keeping the Sabbath but you're not doing it joyfully in celebratory dance if you're not doing it with an abundance of Joy you're a legalist the purpose of the Sabbath is to reveal the Millennium well guess what perfect praise reveals the Millennium what it's going to be like in the kingdom of God hallelujah won't be no sad songs in the kingdom of God I hope you heard me won't be no honky talk won't be no sad everybody talking about you know it's going to be dancing now let me ask you a question to (27:33) all my Sabbath friends and those that are here tonight how you going to talk about I'm keeping the Sabbath to obey God but you're not dancing to obey God I'm trying to help you oh yeah if you're not giving perfect praise at the Sabbath you didn't celebrate the Sabbath you showed up you should have showed up at Dunkin no different no different you came your way instead of yah's way let's go to Jeremiah 31 and13 and we're almost done how many I have fought for years to teach this congregation to dance and there's a reason I'm trying to (28:22) show you that reason tonight Jeremiah 31-13 now let's talk about the Millennium let's I tell you what let's let's start let's start at verse 10 brother Ricky would you read that let's start at verse 10 make sure everybody's there Jeremiah 31 and10 everybody ready yes okay he the word of Yahweh old Nations and declare in the islands after all and say he who scattered Israel GED him and shall guard him as his Shepherd his CL Shall Behold and redeem him from the hands of the stranger then he and they shall come and all right Paul's right (29:10) there all right now uh verse 12 sister Karen pick up there therefore they will come and sing the of now hold on this is about the Millennium now stay with me this scripture is about the Millennium and that day they will come and do what sing shout in the heights of Zion how many's ever heard me when I was preaching I would say let us dance and go up to Mount Zion this is what I'm talking about in the Millennium they will sing in the heights of Zion read and will together okay no no no there's your word see they will what (29:58) scream they will stream together who please hear me who they who the congregation they will do this what in unity Hallelujah nobody in this ministry should ever not be dancing when everybody's dancing God wants us to stream together yes sir there why that's what we're going to do in the Millennium so everybody let me ask you a question question y'all getting ready for the Millennium right that's why you keep Sabbath right why you keep holy days right then why don't you worship right let your worship depict the kingdom of God as (30:43) well I hope you I really hope you you're getting that if Sabbath holy day if that's all to point to the kingdom your praise should be pointing to what kingdom praise is going to be like oh my my my my my yes sir they will sing and they will flow I wish somebody would say flow together flow together that's the theme of this ministry flow together flow together flow into the heights of Zion together Yama if you dance I dance Hallelujah we will flow together read together to the righteous of yah for whe and new wine and oil for the (31:31) young of the in the they will be like welled well Andor all verse 13 then theg will and the young men and the old together for I will turn their to Joy Will Comfort them and will make them rejo now there's the Millennium what's what are we going to be doing in the Millen him dancing together is that what your Bible just said that the young men the old men the young girls everybody will be dancing together there will be no mourning no sorrow so why do our songs today in the worship of God sound like funerals should be celebrating why are (32:20) we not practicing now for millennium worship flowing together sister Ruth taught us that she said if you're going to come to this church and not dance with everybody don't come to this church she said because you mess up the flow we don't need no drainage Stoppers in this church in this Min if you're going to come here come to flow together thank youl and watch what God will do when we begin to flow together somebody say Unity Unity together together that's the heart of God somebody say the congregation of the (33:02) Saints Satan don't want you in the congregation of the Saints why he don't want that unity and that flowing together Hallelujah hallu let's go to Psalms chapter uh well we're going to skip that let's go to Psalms 33 and verse three several scriptures don't have time to read them tonight we're almost done Psalms 33 and: three when you learn to worship together and praise together then Satan cannot come in amongst you and separate you P Psalms 33 and verse uh three and that uh that doesn't look like the right verse oh that's cuz (33:47) that's job that might be why Hallelujah Psalms 33 and 3 someone read it sing unto him a new song skillfully with a loud noise what kind of noise loud did you say loud brother V y'all need to quieten it down I don't read that in my Bible anywhere it up baby I read loud everywhere I look in God's word loud so if you've got a problem with loud you've got a problem with God yesing notes of gladness and what now it says playfully the notes of glad gladness notes of gladness Amen listen skillfully is another key word if you (34:33) don't know how to play don't try all right skillfully cuz because that distracts the people if you don't know how to play let somebody else do it Hallelujah now why is praise important I'm going to show you let's go to Ephesians 427 here's why praise is so important you know I you would think why does God want all this praise prise God doesn't want this praise God has a reason for praise and here it is in Ephesians 427 uh sister yika would you read that verse if you have it huh I'm not ready okay who else is ready Ephesians (35:17) 4:27 y'all ain't flowing together now Ephesians 4:27 for this is to devil give her no room for opportun opportunity okay the verse says neither give place to the devil no room for or opportunity no room or no opportunity how do we give place to the devil with our thoughts and our actions what does praise do confus it causes you to ascend above your thoughts and think about the good goodness of God yes and when you learn to do perfect praise I promise you you'll leave no room for the devil when you learn to dance before the (36:11) Lord and sing a loud song to the Lord and rejoice when you learn to do that you are filling in the hole that gives place to the devil in your mind if you're not a praiser that means that you you are your own God but when you praise him all of a sudden it's about the goodness of God yes and now everything that was going wrong in your life Fades away under his glory and his grace the things of earth grow strangely Dim when you get into perfect praise when I begin to dance before the Lord and when I was young I used to really (36:54) dance now I just sort of float but when I used to it would I I would literally Ascend to Mount Zion I would feel myself go up the mountain with God praise is the portal out of your problems right praise is the portal out of your problems sister when you're going through all of this with Mario in the hospital I'm telling you even though everything been black you find when you find a place to praise God in the midst of it all all of a sudden God is good all of a sudden and everything's all right that's why Satan (37:35) don't want you to praise because it'll focus on how good God is but in Praise we're given place to Yahweh amen don't give place to the devil let's go to Revelation 20 1 through3 Revelations 20 and 1 through3 Let's read that from Heaven having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand and he laid hold on the dragon that old serpent who is the devil and Satan and B her years and cast her into the bottomless pit and shut her up and set a seal upon her that she should deceive the Nations no more (38:28) thousand years should be finished and after must a little Hallelujah think about it children Satan started off in the Garden of Eden as what a little bitty snake but now we see him as a great big dragon in the Book of Revelation how did that happen how did Satan go from a little worm a little snake in a garden just a cunning little creature nothing to be afraid of just a little snake how did he go from that to this monstrous dragon in the Book of Revelation I'll tell you how somebody gave place for him it's not perfect (39:18) way Satan starts off in your life with a little thought just a little thought if God cared if God loved you well that don't seem fair the little snake comes in with questions what did he tell Eve did God really say that he has to get you to question God the moment you question God is the moment that you came out of Praise because you can't question God as long as you're praising Goda right stay with me this little snake was given a place among men by Adam and then that snake begin to take control of men religions churches governments and by (40:17) the time we get to the Book of Revelation this little snake is is something now to be feared he's powerful Satan has one power in your life one the power of suggestion that's it he will suggest something to you that brother don't like you that sister don't like you a suggestion now now the power lies with you because the moment you believe what he said you gave him place the only way you can believe what he says is if you're out of Praise because while you're on Mount Zion you're only hearing what God says that's (41:08) right see but when you come out of Praise You Leave room for these questions in your mind anytime the devil begins to torment you with questions I challenge you begin to dance before the Lord three steps forward three steps back Ascend Mount Zion in your dance and you say God is good God is good God is good God is good and as you begin to do it you'll come out of the the snake pit and Ascend Mount Zion and then you need to call one of your brothers and sisters and get them to scream out loud with you God is good oh (41:49) yeah see flow together until you get out of his control yes sir praise is the the only Power you have praise praise praise I have danced in churches before that looked at me like I was completely CU they don't understand I found a secret I know all about praise not any old praise but perfect praise High Praise I'll take my wife's hands sometime we'll just dance together why because I learned that that's what God wanted and if I will give God what he asked for his favor will be upon my life His blessings will be upon my (42:38) life yes sir the serpent turned into a dragon and now he's a dragon in your life and I want to tell you why that is and I'm done there was a time when Satan had access to heaven but in the Book of Genesis God told Satan I'm fixing to demote you and on your belly you shall go yes sir now when the carnal mind reads that they see a snake they see a belly they see dust but that's not what I see in the spirit yeah and one time the snake was exalted with God but he said now now you're only going to be able to operate among (43:34) flesh not in the heavens thank you Lord on your belly you're going to go and you're going to eat dust what does that mean eat dust mankind what from dust you came and thust you shall return so what are you going to eat now if I'm a serpent that's been confined to eat dust for a snake to grow into a dragon it's got to eat yeah yeah he Dev much less and you can and you can just eat yourself to nothing for snake to grow to a dragon it's got to eat on a lot of people what's it going to eat off your emotions off of your actions off of your (44:17) adultery off of your lies off of your cheating off of your Rebellion to God he feeds on that in your life and you'll wake up one day and you will be a servant to this dragon that you created because you stayed in the dust realm of your life what does praise do praise Ascend you above your dust realm into the spirit realm I have nothing to feed you Satan Satan I have no food here for you because I walk not after the flesh but I walk after the spirit of God I don't chase after my lust and my flesh and I'm chasing after a realm that you (45:07) got kicked out of Satan yes sir the spirit realm oh sh yes sir you ever seen a snake attack an eagle it can't happen darling I said it can't happen why because Eagles own another dimension they own another realm that so far above a serpent or a dragon God gave you the anointing to be an eagle in the spirit with praise with praise you can escape that dust body and live in the Realms of eagles Hallelujah yes sir do you heard me don't know how I'm going to make it yes sir that serpent food the serpent food see that causes (45:54) that little bit of Doubt to turn into Rebellion against God I can't do it Lord I that's serpent food because the realm of Praise there is no such thing yes sir as God can't do it yes that's right yes Hallelujah I have no food for you Satan yes you're not feeding off this dust thank you because I'm no longer the Bible says that if I walk not after the flesh that I'm no longer bound by this flesh thank but I walk in the spirit but how do we walk in the spirit whenever we learn perfect praise thank you sir perfect praise says these words (46:37) perfect praise Summary

1. The need to return to biblical praise — 00:01–03:46 Vaughn opens by recalling the Pentecostal worship traditions of his childhood. Although he expresses gratitude for what he learned, he argues that contemporary churches often misunderstand the nature of acceptable praise. He compares the modern church to a restaurant that allows customers to choose everything according to personal preference. He rejects this approach to worship, teaching that Yahweh has already established the manner in which he desires to be praised. Vaughn criticizes worship that depends upon the correct song, singer, musical arrangement, or emotional atmosphere. He acknowledges that such worship may produce genuine excitement but distinguishes it from perfect praise. 2. Personal preference, cultural tradition, and the authority of Scripture — 03:46–05:22 Vaughn teaches that personal preferences should not determine the form of worship. He rejects distinctions between different cultural styles as sufficient justification for departing from what he believes Scripture commands. He also challenges the expression that people should attend the church of their choice, arguing instead that believers should seek a congregation that teaches truth. 3. Smyrna, Philadelphia, and Polycarp — 05:22–09:52 Vaughn refers to the seven churches of Revelation and identifies Smyrna and Philadelphia as examples of faithfulness. He discusses Polycarp, whom he identifies as a disciple of the Apostle John and pastor of Smyrna. He claims that Polycarp defended Passover observance against changes associated with the church of Rome. He further claims that Polycarp practiced the seventh-day Sabbath and taught doctrines similar to those of First Harvest Ministries. These historical statements form part of Vaughn's argument that authentic worship should preserve apostolic practices. They are claims made within the sermon, not independently verified historical findings. 4. The first element of perfect praise: a new song — 09:52–12:23 Vaughn introduces Psalm 149:1 and emphasizes the instruction to sing a new song. He teaches that a new song should reflect a present spiritual experience with Yahweh. He does not reject traditional hymns entirely but criticizes congregations that rely exclusively upon them. He uses the traditional song about flying away to illustrate what he considers outdated theological expectations. He contrasts that song with his own emphasis on ruling and reigning in the coming kingdom. 5. The second element: praise in the congregation — 12:23–13:53 Vaughn emphasizes the phrase concerning praise in the congregation of the saints. He argues that private worship cannot replace the collective praise of an assembled congregation. A participant connects this principle with the biblical warning against forsaking assembly. Vaughn teaches that Satan seeks to weaken congregations by separating believers from corporate worship. He identifies unity as essential to perfect praise. 6. Learning to dance: the Virginia experience — 13:53–17:21 Vaughn recalls attending a large worship gathering in Virginia in 1999. He describes entering a tabernacle where hundreds of people were dancing together. Although he was already a pastor, he admits that he did not understand congregational dancing. He recounts Sister Ruth Heins inviting him to participate and teaching him a simple movement of three steps forward and three steps back. He identifies this experience as a turning point in his understanding of worship. He states that he subsequently made dancing a regular part of every worship service he attended. 7. The third and fourth elements: joy and dancing — 17:21–20:20 Vaughn reads Psalm 149:2–3 and emphasizes rejoicing and dancing. He teaches that perfect praise must be joyful. He distinguishes spiritual joy from emotional reactions to sad music. He argues that dancing should not depend upon whether the believer feels inspired. He strongly criticizes refusal to dance, characterizing it as resistance to the form of praise he believes Yahweh commands. 8. The fifth element: loud singing and high praise — 20:20–23:06 Vaughn continues through Psalm 149. He emphasizes that Yahweh takes pleasure in his people. He interprets the psalm as encouraging joyful and audible praise. He then focuses upon the high praises of Yahweh and the two-edged sword. He teaches that high praise is more than ordinary religious expression because it possesses spiritual power. 9. High praise as a weapon against Satan — 23:06–26:12 Vaughn interprets Psalm 149:7–9 as teaching that praise can bind spiritual enemies. He identifies the kings and nobles in the passage with Satan and fallen angels. He teaches that high praise gives believers authority over Satan's influence. He also emphasizes the greater power of united congregational worship. He presents joyful dancing as a spiritual weapon rather than merely a physical expression. 10. Sabbath observance and the coming kingdom — 26:12–28:22 Vaughn connects Sabbath observance and the biblical holy days with the millennial reign. He teaches that these observances reveal aspects of the future kingdom. He argues that praise should likewise demonstrate the character of the coming kingdom. He criticizes Sabbath keepers who observe the day without joyful celebration. He teaches that obedience should include both the observance of the Sabbath and the expression of joyful praise. 11. Jeremiah's picture of millennial worship — 28:22–32:20 Vaughn directs the congregation to Jeremiah 31:10–13. He interprets the gathering of Israel, singing in Zion, and the transformation of mourning into joy as descriptions of the millennium. He emphasizes the image of the people streaming together. He teaches that congregational worship should reflect this unity. He interprets Jeremiah 31:13 as portraying people of different ages dancing together. He encourages believers to practice this pattern of worship in preparation for the future kingdom. 12. Flowing together in unity — 32:20–33:02 Vaughn returns to Sister Ruth Heins's teaching concerning congregational dancing. He emphasizes that individual participation contributes to the unity of the entire assembly. He warns against refusing to participate when the congregation is dancing together. He identifies flowing together as an important principle of his ministry. 13. Singing loudly and skillfully — 33:02–34:33 Vaughn directs the congregation to Psalm 33:3. He emphasizes singing a new song, playing skillfully, and making a loud noise. He rejects the idea that worship must be quiet. He also teaches that musicians should possess sufficient skill to avoid distracting the congregation. He identifies both enthusiasm and competence as important elements of praise. 14. Praise and the refusal to give place to Satan — 34:33–37:35 Vaughn reads Ephesians 4:27. He teaches that negative thoughts and destructive actions create opportunities for Satan. He interprets perfect praise as a way of redirecting attention toward Yahweh's goodness. He describes praise as a means of rising above fear and adversity. He uses the expression that praise is a portal out of problems. He applies this teaching to situations involving illness, distress, and uncertainty. 15. The serpent and the dragon — 37:35–41:08 Vaughn reads Revelation 20:1–3. He contrasts the serpent in Genesis with the dragon described in Revelation. He asks how the serpent became so powerful. He answers that humanity gave Satan opportunities through accepting his suggestions. He teaches that Satan's principal influence begins with thoughts that encourage doubt, suspicion, or rebellion. He identifies Adam's acceptance of the serpent's influence as the beginning of a pattern repeated throughout human history. 16. Dancing as resistance to destructive thoughts — 41:08–42:38 Vaughn encourages believers to begin dancing when troubled by negative thoughts. He recommends repeating declarations of Yahweh's goodness. He also encourages believers to contact other members of the congregation and rejoice together. He teaches that praise removes attention from Satan's suggestions and restores spiritual confidence. He connects this practice with the expectation of divine favor and blessing. 17. The serpent's dust and the spiritual realm — 42:38–45:54 Vaughn returns to the serpent's punishment in Genesis. He interprets the serpent's movement upon its belly and its eating of dust as spiritual symbolism. He identifies dust with fleshly humanity. He teaches that Satan gains strength from sinful actions, fear, doubt, and rebellion. He contrasts this condition with the spiritual elevation he associates with praise. He uses the image of an eagle flying above a serpent to illustrate the believer's ability to rise above fleshly concerns. 18. Rejoicing despite circumstances — 45:54–47:17 Vaughn concludes by emphasizing the difference between living according to the flesh and walking according to the Spirit. He teaches that perfect praise redirects the believer toward the spiritual realm. He encourages the congregation to rejoice in Yahweh even when circumstances do not provide a reason for happiness. His final exhortation is that believers should maintain faith in Yahweh's ability rather than surrendering to doubt.

Core doctrine

Pastor Shane Vaughn teaches that Yahweh has established a specific biblical pattern for acceptable praise. He rejects the idea that worship should be governed by personal preference, emotional inclination, musical taste, or cultural custom. He argues that the believer's responsibility is to discover and obey the form of praise revealed in Scripture. Vaughn distinguishes ordinary praise from what he calls perfect praise. He acknowledges that believers may experience powerful emotions, shout during worship, or respond enthusiastically to music. However, he teaches that these expressions do not necessarily constitute perfect praise unless they conform to the instructions he identifies in the biblical text. He places Psalm 149 at the center of his teaching. He interprets the psalm as establishing several essential elements of praise, including a new song, participation in the congregation of the saints, joyful rejoicing, dancing, singing aloud, and high praise. Vaughn teaches that a new song should arise from the believer's present experience with Yahweh. He argues that songs written in previous generations may express genuine past experiences but should not replace new expressions of present revelation and spiritual understanding. He illustrates this principle by criticizing the expectation of escaping to heaven expressed in the traditional song about flying away. He contrasts that expectation with his own teaching concerning ruling and reigning in the coming kingdom. He presents a revised song about ruling and reigning as an example of praise shaped by what he regards as more accurate revelation. He interprets Psalm 149:1 as requiring praise within the congregation of the saints. He emphasizes that corporate worship possesses a dimension of unity that cannot be reproduced by isolated individuals. He strongly criticizes the belief that private praise can fully replace participation in congregational worship. Vaughn teaches that joy is an indispensable element of perfect praise. He distinguishes spiritual joy from temporary emotions produced by music, personal circumstances, or religious atmosphere. He argues that the believer should rejoice because Yahweh has commanded it, even when the individual does not feel emotionally motivated. He identifies dancing as an explicit biblical expression of praise. He interprets Psalm 149:3 as establishing dancing as a required element of the worship he calls perfect praise. He rejects the idea that dancing should be reserved for occasions when a believer feels an overwhelming emotional impulse. He recounts his own transition from traditional Pentecostal shouting to deliberate congregational dancing. He credits Sister Ruth Heins with teaching him a simple pattern of movement and with demonstrating the importance of joining the congregation in unified praise. Vaughn teaches that worship must be an act of obedience rather than an expression of personal preference. He describes his decision to dance at every service as a spiritual discipline that continues regardless of his emotions or physical enthusiasm. He connects dancing with the celebration of the Sabbath. He teaches that the Sabbath should not be observed merely as a legal obligation but should be celebrated with joy. He criticizes Sabbath keepers who emphasize obedience to the day while refusing the joyful praise he believes Scripture commands. Vaughn interprets Sabbath observance and the biblical holy days as prophetic signs of the coming millennial kingdom. He then extends that symbolism to worship, arguing that congregational praise should demonstrate what life and worship will be like during the millennium. He uses Jeremiah 31:10–13 to describe the restoration of Israel, the gathering of the people, the heights of Zion, and the transformation of mourning into joy. He interprets these promises as describing the millennial kingdom and identifies united dancing as an expression of that future reality. He teaches that believers should practice millennial worship before the millennium begins. In his view, the congregation's joyful participation in dancing and singing serves as preparation for the future kingdom and as a visible representation of its unity. Vaughn places particular emphasis on the congregation flowing together. He teaches that worship becomes more powerful when participants rejoice, dance, and sing in unity. He regards individual refusal to participate as an interruption of the collective expression he believes Yahweh desires. He teaches that praise should be loud and skillful. He interprets Psalm 33:3 as supporting both enthusiastic singing and competent musical performance. He argues that poorly prepared musicians can distract the congregation and should develop their abilities before leading worship. Vaughn identifies high praise as a spiritual weapon. He interprets Psalm 149:6–9 as connecting praise with the execution of judgment and the binding of hostile powers. He applies the passage to Satan and teaches that the believer can exercise spiritual authority through joyful, united praise. He interprets the binding of kings and nobles in Psalm 149 as representing authority over Satan and fallen angels. This is his theological application of the passage rather than an identification explicitly stated in the psalm. Vaughn teaches that Satan gains influence primarily through suggestion. He argues that negative thoughts, doubts, fears, suspicions, and accusations create opportunities for Satan when believers accept them. He connects this teaching with Ephesians 4:27, which warns against giving place to the devil. Vaughn interprets perfect praise as a way of refusing Satan access to the believer's thoughts. He teaches that dancing, singing, and rejoicing redirect attention away from fear and toward the goodness of Yahweh. He describes praise as a means of spiritual elevation. He uses the image of ascending Mount Zion to explain how worship lifts the believer's attention above immediate problems and worldly concerns. He compares the serpent in Genesis with the dragon in Revelation. He teaches that Satan begins with small suggestions but becomes more powerful when human beings continually accept those suggestions and act upon them. Vaughn interprets the serpent's punishment of crawling upon its belly and eating dust as a spiritual picture of Satan's confinement to the realm of fleshly humanity. He identifies human fear, rebellion, dishonesty, adultery, and other sinful actions as the figurative nourishment through which Satan's influence grows. He teaches that praise enables believers to rise above what he calls the dust realm and live in the spirit realm. He uses the imagery of an eagle flying above a serpent to illustrate the spiritual superiority he associates with joyful worship. Vaughn teaches that the believer should refuse to provide Satan with opportunities through negative thoughts or sinful behavior. He presents perfect praise as a practical means of redirecting the mind, strengthening faith, and resisting temptation. He also connects acceptable worship with what he regards as the preservation of apostolic Christianity. He identifies the churches of Smyrna and Philadelphia as models of faithfulness and discusses Polycarp as an example of continuity with the Apostle John. Vaughn claims that Polycarp's beliefs and worship practices closely resembled those taught by his own ministry. He also connects Polycarp with Passover observance and the rejection of later Easter traditions. These historical assertions are presented as Vaughn's claims; the transcript does not independently establish their accuracy. The central doctrine of the sermon is that perfect praise requires obedience, joy, dancing, loud singing, a new song, and unity within the congregation. Vaughn teaches that such praise prepares believers for the coming kingdom, strengthens their resistance to Satan's suggestions, and directs their attention toward the goodness and sovereignty of Yahweh.
