Not with a hot take. With the TRUTH. This past Thursday — March 20th — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a press conference in Jerusalem. He was defending the joint Israeli-American military operation against Iran. And in that press conference, he cited historian Will Durant. Here is what he said. Read every word: "History proves that, unfortunately and unhappily, Jesus Christ has no advantage over Genghis Khan — because if you are strong enough, ruthless enough, powerful enough, evil will overcome good. Aggression will overcome moderation." The internet immediately caught fire. Conservative accounts called it blasphemy. Owen Shroyer said Netanyahu was insulting Christians and Jesus Christ. Voices across the right-wing media landscape — some of them the same voices pushing America away from Israel — immediately reposted it as proof that Bibi hates Jesus. So let me be the professor in the room for a moment. What did Netanyahu actually SAY? He was quoting Will Durant. Word for word. Will Durant — one of the most celebrated historians of the 20th century, the man who wrote the eleven-volume Story of Civilization — wrote in his short masterpiece The Lessons of History that a morally superior civilization can still be DESTROYED if it refuses to defend itself with adequate force. Durant's argument — which Netanyahu was applying to Iran — is this: righteousness alone does not stop a ruthless enemy. The goodness of your cause does not protect you if you are too weak or too timid to fight for it. Netanyahu was not saying Jesus is weak. He was saying: the followers of Jesus must be STRONG enough to protect what Jesus died for. Or it will be taken from them. Now — here is where I have to say something that will not be popular on BOTH sides of this argument. Netanyahu was RIGHT in his underlying point. The idea that moral virtue alone is sufficient protection against barbarism is not Christian theology — it is naivety dressed up as Christianity. YAHWEH has ALWAYS raised up armies. He raised up Joshua. He raised up David. He raised up Cyrus. He raised up Gideon. The God of the Bible has never been a pacifist. BUT. Netanyahu was UNWISE in his communication. You do not quote a secular historian comparing Jesus and Genghis Khan — in the middle of a war where you desperately need the support of the Christian world — and expect it to land well. That was a political blunder of the first order. He eventually clarified: "I did not denigrate Jesus Christ. Durant stated that morality by itself is not enough to ensure survival. No offense was meant." I believe him. And I also believe that good intentions without good communication cost you more ground than you gain. Now — here is the deeper issue that I will not allow this broadcast to skip over. The voices screaming the loudest about this Netanyahu quote are the SAME voices who have been working for months to turn the MAGA base away from Israel. They didn't suddenly develop a theology of the divinity of Christ. They found a quote they could weaponize. They are using the name of Jesus — to accomplish the work of the Adversary. And I need you to be wise enough to see that. Netanyahu mis-spoke in his delivery. But the people exploiting that mis-speak are not defending Jesus. They are advancing an agenda. And that agenda runs directly against the covenant of Abraham. The Adversary doesn't need a majority. He never has. He just needs the right quote — at the right moment — broadcast through voices with enough trust — to move enough people. Be wise as serpents. And harmless as doves. And do not let anyone use the name of Jesus to turn you against the covenant people of YAHWEH. Because normally Oz is reserved for Democrats. But tonight — ladies and gentlemen — meet Joe Kent. You know what I do when someone does a complete 180 out of nowhere? I start asking questions. Right now there are people across the internet climbing over each other to call this man a hero. He walked out of the Trump administration! He's speaking truth to power! He's a man of principle! Only — this sudden new moral stand falls completely flat when you go back and look at the receipts. Let me show you Joe Kent in January of 2020. "We should not sit and wait for the next attack — wipe Iran's ballistic capability out and get our troops out of Iraq — they are only targets now. No US WIA/KIA is a tribute to the professionalism of our military and intel professionals — not Iranian restraint." That's Joe Kent — in 2020 — demanding the total destruction of Iran's ballistic capability. Demanding maximum military aggression. Telling Trump to act decisively and not wait. And then — same week, just a few hours later — he posted this: "I personally think we should have crushed their ballistic and nuke capabilities — but Trump has a plan. He has definitely earned the confidence of any clear-eyed observer." So in 2020 — Joe Kent trusted Trump's plan completely. Trump had "definitely earned the confidence of any clear- eyed observer." And in 2026 — when Trump is doing exactly what is necessary in that same region — Joe Kent is suddenly the voice of caution, restraint, and moral concern? After being cut from intel briefings. After being identified as a leaker. After resigning under a cloud of accusations that he was leaking to the loudest podcast voices in the movement — specifically to harm the President. Brenden Dilley said it plainly: Joe Kent wasn't acting alone with his leaks and sabotage at ODNI. The carefully crafted leaks to the loudest podcast bro scumbags were to harm President Trump. And Joe won't be the last resignation. He was either lying THEN — or he's lying NOW. Either way — he's no hero. Just a liar and a leaker. Dressed up in principle he never actually had. And before you cheer — or before you roll your eyes — set aside your politics for five minutes and pick up the Book. Isaiah chapter forty-five. YAHWEH speaks through Isaiah and calls a world leader by name one hundred and fifty years before that man was born. Cyrus. King of Persia. A pagan. He didn't worship YAHWEH. He didn't keep Torah. He didn't know YAHWEH's name. "For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name. — Isaiah 45:4" Cyrus didn't know YAHWEH. But YAHWEH knew Cyrus. The instrument does not need to be holy. The instrument needs to be AVAILABLE. Daniel 2:21 — He changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings. Not voters. Not courts. Not campaign managers. YAHWEH. Trump moves the embassy to Jerusalem. Recognizes Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights. Brokers the Abraham Accords. Tears up the Iran deal that was funneling money to the terror apparatus pointed at Tel Aviv. Then YAHWEH allowed a gap. Four years. The Biden years. Iran received billions. The Abraham Accords froze. Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis reloaded. The global tide against Israel — the one Zechariah prophesied — began to build. And October 7th happened. Apply the same skepticism you give CNN to the man with the ring light who says he's "just asking questions." Say something. The normalization of antisemitism — from the left OR the new right — depends entirely on the silence of good people who don't want to make things awkward. Make it awkward. Name it. SEGMENT 7 — WISDOM & ✝ SPIRITUAL CLOSE THOUGHTFUL TRANSITION — SOFTER, REVERENT Let me step back from the noise for just a few minutes. Let me speak to you now not as Professor Toto — but as Pastor John Shane Vaughn. I want to come back to something we touched on at the beginning of tonight's broadcast — and take it somewhere the news segment couldn't go. Netanyahu quoted Will Durant: morality by itself is not enough to protect a civilization from a ruthless enemy. You must have the strength to defend what is righteous — or righteousness will fall. Now — as a pastor, I want to say something about that. He is not wrong about strength. YAHWEH has always raised up warriors. He has always equipped His people for battle. The Psalms are full of the God who trains hands for war. But there is something that NEITHER Netanyahu nor Durant has access to — something that secular history and geopolitical strategy cannot see from where they stand. The final victory does not belong to the strongest army. It belongs to the One who sits above the circle of the earth — and to whom every nation is a drop in a bucket. Isaiah 40:15 — "Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance." Durant was right about what happens when good men refuse to be strong. YAHWEH agrees — and His Word is full of the consequences of passivity in the face of evil. But Durant did not know — could not know — that the story does not END with whichever army is strongest. The story ends with the return of the King of Kings. With the stone cut without hands that strikes the statue of world empires and becomes a mountain that fills the whole earth. Daniel chapter two. A kingdom that shall never be destroyed. So — yes — be strong. Yes — support the defense of Jerusalem. Yes — resist the spirit that is working to turn the hearts of the Western world against the covenant people of YAHWEH. But do not put your ultimate trust in military might. Put it in the One who raises up Cyrus when He needs Cyrus — and who does not need anyone's permission to move. We are standing inside Year 5991 on Heaven's calendar. Passover approaches. The Lamb moves toward the altar. The appointed times of YAHWEH are not metaphors. They are rehearsals — and we are in the middle of one of the most significant prophetic seasons this generation has ever walked through. Walk in it with your eyes open. Walk in it with your spirit aligned. Walk in it with the confidence of someone who has read the last chapter — and already knows who wins.
