THE LAST GREAT DAY
When the Graves Open and the Water Flows
A Sermon for the Eighth Day — Shemini Atzeret 2026Rev. John Shane VaughnFirst
Harvest Ministries International
"In the last day, that great day of the feast, YAHSHUA stood and cried, saying, If any man
thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said,
out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they
that believe on him should receive.)" — John 7:37-39
"But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of
judgment, than for thee." — Matthew 11:24
OPENING: THE FEAST AFTER THE FEAST
FHaMIly, we have come to the end of the appointed times.
For seven days we have dwelt in booths. For seven days we have rehearsed the Kingdom — the
thousand-year reign of Messiah, the binding of the accuser, the nations streaming up to learn
the ways of YAHWEH. We have eaten together, sung together, rejoiced together, exactly as the
Torah commanded: "thou shalt surely rejoice."
And now YAHWEH says: one more day.
"On the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you... it is a solemn assembly; and ye
shall do no servile work therein." — Leviticus 23:36
Think about that. Every other feast is tied to a harvest. Passover to the barley. Pentecost to the
wheat. Tabernacles to the great ingathering of the fruit. But this eighth day stands alone. It has
no harvest of its own. It comes after the harvest is in, after the barns are full, after the seven
days are finished.
So the question every Torah-keeper must ask tonight is this: What harvest is left after the
harvest is over?
And the answer, FHaMIly, is the most glorious answer in all the Scriptures. The harvest that is
left is everybody else.
More Tolerable
And YAHSHUA Himself gave us the key. Hear our second text in its full setting:
"Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because
they repented not: Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty
works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have
repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for
Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you. And thou, Capernaum, which art
exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have
been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say
unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than
for thee." — Matthew 11:20-24
FHaMIly, read that slowly, because there are four truths in it that will overturn everything the
churches teach about judgment.
First — Sodom would have repented. YAHSHUA did not say Sodom was beyond hope. He
said the opposite. "If the mighty works... had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until
this day." Sodom never saw what Capernaum saw. Sodom never had a Messiah walking her
streets, healing her sick, raising her dead. Sodom was not given the light. And the Son of Man
Himself testifies that if she had been given it, she would have turned.
Now tell me: would a just Judge burn a city forever for refusing a light He Himself says it never
received?
Second — Sodom is not finished. Sodom was destroyed by fire nearly four thousand years
ago. And yet YAHSHUA says Sodom will stand in the day of judgment. Not at the moment the
fire fell. In a day still to come. Sodom's judgment was not completed when the brimstone
landed. Her people died — but their day of judgment is still ahead of them.
Third — judgment has degrees.More tolerable. Not "equally damned." Not "the same hell for
everyone." More tolerable. That word means there is a scale. The judgment of YAHWEH is
measured, weighed, fitted to the man. YAHSHUA said it again in plain words:
"And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did
according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did
commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever
much is given, of him shall be much required." — Luke 12:47-48
Many stripes. Few stripes. That is not the language of an endless torture chamber where every
soul suffers the same forever. That is the language of a Father who corrects. The rod is
measured to the child. The man who knew little receives little correction. The man who knew
much receives much. Judgment is weighed by light received.
Fourth — the heaviest judgment falls on those with the most light. Who gets it worse —
Sodom, or Capernaum? Capernaum. The religious town. The town where Messiah lived. The
town that heard the sermons and saw the miracles and still did not repent. "Brought down to
hell" — and the word there is hades, the grave. Exalted to heaven, brought down to the grave.
And FHaMIly, hear me, because a faithful pastor will not let you leave this feast comfortable:
we are Capernaum.
We are the ones who have heard the Sabbath preached. We have seen the feasts opened to us.
We have the Name. We have the Torah. We have the light that the billions in their graves never
saw. And Peter said judgment begins at the house of YAHWEH. The men of Sodom will stand
up in the day of judgment with a lighter burden than the man who sat in this room year after
year, heard the truth, and walked out the same as he came in.
So this sermon is good news for Sodom — and a warning for the saints.
Hold that verse in your heart tonight. Everything I preach in this message hangs on it: more
tolerable for Sodom. Because if it can be more tolerable for Sodom, then Sodom is coming
back. And if Sodom is coming back — so is everyone else.
I. THE NUMBER BEYOND THE SABBATH
Seven is the number of completion. Seven days of creation. Seven millennial days in the plan
of YAHWEH — six days of man's government and one great Sabbath of Messiah's reign.
But eight is the number of a new beginning. Watch how the Torah uses the eighth day:
A son of Abraham received the covenant sign on the eighth day (Genesis 17:12).
The firstborn of the flock was given to YAHWEH on the eighth day (Exodus 22:30).
Aaron and his sons began their priestly ministry on the eighth day (Leviticus 9:1).
The leper — the man shut outside the camp, unclean, cut off from the congregation —
was brought back in and presented before YAHWEH on the eighth day (Leviticus 14:10-
11).
Do you see it? The eighth day is the day the outsider is brought inside. The day the one who
was outside the camp is cleansed and restored to the congregation.
That is what this day pictures. The seven days of Tabernacles picture the Millennium. The
eighth day pictures what comes after the Millennium — the day when the dead who were
outside the camp, who never knew the covenant, who never heard the Name, are brought back
to the door of the tabernacle to be cleansed.
II. SHEMINI ATZERET — THE REJOICING OF THE TORAH
This day has a name, FHaMIly. In the Hebrew of Leviticus 23:36 it is called Shemini Atzeret —
"the eighth, the solemn assembly."
And all across the world this week, in synagogues from Jerusalem to New York, the Jewish
people are keeping it as Simchat Torah — the Rejoicing of the Torah. In the land of Israel they
keep it on this very day; outside the land they keep it the day after.
They take the scrolls out of the ark. They carry them around the synagogue, circuit after
circuit, singing and dancing with the Torah in their arms. They read the last words of
Deuteronomy — the death of Moses — and then, without stopping, they roll the scroll back to
the beginning and read: "In the beginning Elohim created the heaven and the earth."
Now understand me. Simchat Torah is not commanded anywhere in the Torah. It is a custom
of men. But YAHWEH can make even the customs of men testify to His plan. And the Jews do
it every year — and they do not know what they are rehearsing.
And the Christian world? Most of them have never even heard the name of this day. They
threw out the feasts when they threw out the Torah, and in doing so they threw away the very
calendar that explains the plan of salvation. One house dances with the scroll and cannot read
its prophecy. The other house has never even come to the dance.
So let me tell you, FHaMIly, what this day truly means.
The Assembly of the Held Back
The word atzeret comes from the Hebrew root atsar — to restrain, to shut up, to hold back.
Listen to how the Torah uses it:
"Behold now, YAHWEH hath restrained me from bearing." — Genesis 16:2
"And then YAHWEH'S wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there
be no rain." — Deuteronomy 11:17
Restrained. Shut up. Held back.
Who has been held back? "The rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were
finished" (Revelation 20:5). They have been restrained in the grave. Shut up in unbelief, that
He might have mercy upon all. Held back while the firstfruits were gathered and the
Millennium ran its course.
Shemini Atzeret is the assembly of the held back. It is the day the restraint is lifted and those
who were shut up are finally gathered in.
And notice — the heaven shut up so that there is no rain. Even the synagogue bears witness
here without understanding it: on this very day, their prayer books turn to praying for the
rains. And what did YAHSHUA cry out on this very day? Living water. The heaven that was
shut up over the dead is opened, and the rain of the Spirit falls on the valley of dry bones.
The Torah Read to Everyone
Now hear what Moses commanded for this season — not the rabbis, Moses:
"At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of
tabernacles, when all Israel is come to appear before YAHWEH thy Elohim in the place
which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing. Gather the
people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates,
that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear YAHWEH your Elohim, and observe
to do all the words of this law." — Deuteronomy 31:10-12
At the end of the seven — the Torah is read to everyone. Men. Women. Children. And the
stranger. Nobody left out. Nobody too small, nobody too foreign.
And when Ezra and Nehemiah restored the feast after the captivity, look what they did:
"Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the law of
Elohim. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly,
according unto the manner." — Nehemiah 8:18
The Torah read every day of the feast — and then the eighth day, the solemn assembly. The
Atzeret.
FHaMIly, that is the true Rejoicing of the Torah. Not a congregation dancing in a building with
a scroll that stays closed to their understanding. It is the day the books are opened before every
man, woman, child, and stranger who ever drew breath — and for the first time, they hear, and
they learn.
From a Grave to "Let There Be Light"
And look at what the synagogue does with that scroll, every single year, without knowing why.
The Torah ends with a grave. "So Moses the servant of YAHWEH died there in the land of
Moab... and he buried him in a valley... but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day"
(Deuteronomy 34:5-6).
And at that very moment — with the last word about a grave still hanging in the air — they roll
the scroll back and read: "In the beginning... And Elohim said, Let there be light: and there was
light" (Genesis 1:1, 3).
From a grave to a new creation. From death to light.
That is the eighth day! The scroll closes on a burial and opens on a creation. The blinded
billions come up out of their graves, and the first word YAHWEH speaks over them is the first
word He ever spoke over this earth: Let there be light.
The Jews dance it. The Christians ignore it. And neither one of them can tell you what it
means. But the Torah tells you, if you will read it as Moses wrote it.
The Rejoicing Is Coming
Why should anyone rejoice over the Torah? Because the Torah is not bondage. It is the way out
of the bondage of ignorance into glorious freedom. And the day is coming when the whole
earth will rejoice in it:
"And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of YAHWEH,
to the house of the Elohim of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his
paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law." — Isaiah 2:3
"I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their Elohim,
and they shall be my people." — Jeremiah 31:33
That is Simchat Torah as YAHWEH sees it. Not a scroll carried in men's arms, but the Torah
written in the hearts of resurrected men. Not one night of dancing in a synagogue, but a whole
raised humanity rejoicing in the ways of YAHWEH.
So tonight, while the synagogue dances with a scroll it cannot fully read, and the church sleeps
through a day it has never heard of, we stand here and say: We know what this day means.
III. THE GREAT LIE ABOUT THE LOST
Every one of you knows somebody like this. A neighbor. An uncle. A coworker. The kind of
man who would give you the shirt off his back. Hard-working, honest, the first one to show up
when your roof blew off in the storm. But he never darkened the door of a church. He looked at
a thousand quarreling denominations, each claiming to speak for heaven, and he simply could
not believe any of them. And one day he died.
Where is he tonight?
There is a lie preached from ten thousand pulpits every Sunday morning, and it goes like this:
YAHWEH is desperately trying to save the whole world right now. And if you die without
"accepting Jesus" in this lifetime, you are lost forever — burning without end in a hell that never
closes.
Think about what that lie makes of our Father.
It means billions of people who lived and died in China, in India, in the Americas before
Columbus, in the jungles of Africa — people who never saw a Bible, never heard the name of
YAHSHUA, never had a single chance — are tormented forever for not believing a message no
one ever brought them.
It means the baby in the womb, the mentally disabled, the child raised in a house of idols, are
all damned for a choice they were never given.
That is not justice. That is not mercy. That is not YAHWEH.
So let me say it plainly: YAHWEH is not trying to save the whole world right now. He never
was. He is not losing a race against the clock. He is working a plan, and the plan has an order.
Paul said the same thing:
"In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the
light of the glorious gospel of Christ... should shine unto them." — 2 Corinthians 4:4
Blinded. Not rejecting — blinded. You cannot condemn a blind man for not seeing the sign.
And here is what will shake the churches: the blinding is not an accident YAHWEH failed to
prevent. It is a season He permitted — and YAHSHUA Himself said so. When His disciples
asked why He taught the multitudes in parables, did He say, "To make it easier for them"? No.
"Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of Elohim: but unto them that are
without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see, and not perceive;
and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted,
and their sins should be forgiven them." — Mark 4:11-12
Lest they should be converted. Read that again, FHaMIly. YAHSHUA veiled the truth from the
crowds on purpose. If this were the only day of salvation, that would be the cruelest sentence in
the Bible. Messiah would be deliberately keeping men out of the Kingdom forever.
But it is not the only day. It is simply not their day yet.
John saw the same thing. YAHSHUA did miracle after miracle before the people, and still:
"Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, He hath blinded their
eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand
with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them." — John 12:39-40
They could not believe. Not would not — could not. The adversary is the instrument of the
blinding, but YAHWEH is the One who governs its season. And He would never hold a man
eternally guilty for a blindness He Himself appointed for a time.
That is why YAHSHUA said the gate is strait and few find it now, while many walk the broad
road (Matthew 7:13-14). The few are not the final count. The few are the firstfruits. The many
are the harvest still standing in the field.
And now hear the purpose behind it all:
"For YAHWEH hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all." —
Romans 11:32
He shut them up in unbelief — so that He could have mercy on all. Not some. All.
And this is the same Father who said He did not send His Son "to condemn the world; but that
the world through him might be saved" (John 3:17). The world. Not a remnant of it. If most of
mankind ends in the grave forever, then the mission of the Son failed. And FHaMIly, the Son of
YAHWEH does not fail.
IV. THE REVELATION: WHY YAHWEH BLINDED THE WORLD
FHaMIly, as this very message was being preached, YAHWEH opened to me the answer to the
question that sits underneath this whole sermon.
We have seen that the world is blinded. We have seen that YAHSHUA Himself veiled the truth
in parables, "lest at any time they should be converted." We have seen that the adversary is the
instrument of the blinding, but YAHWEH governs its season.
But why? Why would a Father who is "not willing that any should perish" hide the glorious light
of the gospel from the nations, and use the adversary himself to do it?
The Adversary on a Leash
First, settle this in your heart: the adversary is not running loose. He works under orders. Hear
the prophet Micaiah describe the throne room of heaven:
"I saw YAHWEH sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his
right hand and on his left. And YAHWEH said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up
and fall at Ramothgilead?... And there came forth a spirit, and stood before YAHWEH, and
said, I will persuade him... I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his
prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so. Now
therefore, behold, YAHWEH hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets."
— 1 Kings 22:19-23
Go forth, and do so. The deceiving spirit asked permission, and YAHWEH sent him. The same
was true with Job: "Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth
thine hand" (Job 1:12). The adversary goes as far as the leash allows, and not one inch farther.
So when Paul says "the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not" (2
Corinthians 4:4), understand that the god of this world is a servant who doesn't know he is
serving. He thinks he is blinding the world for his own purposes. In fact he is carrying out a
purpose of YAHWEH's that he cannot even see.
And that purpose is a covenant.
The Oath to Abraham
Hear what YAHWEH swore to Abraham — and notice, He swore it by Himself, because there
was none greater to swear by:
"By myself have I sworn, saith YAHWEH, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast
not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I
will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea
shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the
nations of the earth be blessed." — Genesis 22:16-18
Then Isaac passed it to Jacob:
"Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren." — Genesis
27:29
And Moses set it before the children of Israel:
"And YAHWEH shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and
thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of YAHWEH thy
Elohim." — Deuteronomy 28:13
Above only, and not beneath. The seed of Abraham was given the birthright to rule and reign.
And look at the order of the promise: "In thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed."
The nations are blessed in the seed. Through the seed. Not instead of the seed, and not ahead
of the seed.
The birthright itself was divided, and Scripture tells us exactly how:
"The birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel... For Judah prevailed
above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph's." — 1
Chronicles 5:1-2
The scepter to Judah. The birthright to Joseph. Both houses heirs of the oath.
Why the Light Was Hidden
Now here is what YAHWEH showed me, FHaMIly.
If YAHWEH had not hidden the glorious light of the gospel, the whole world would have
believed.
Think about it. If the full light of the Kingdom had blazed over every nation at once, with no
veil and no deceiver, who could have resisted it? YAHSHUA Himself said Tyre and Sidon
would have repented in sackcloth and ashes. Sodom would have remained. Nineveh repented
at the preaching of one reluctant prophet. The nations were ready to believe.
And if the whole world had believed at once, the covenant to Judah and the Lost Tribes
would have been circumvented. The nations would have walked in ahead of the heirs. The
oath YAHWEH swore by His own self would have been overrun by a crowd. There would be no
first and no last — no head and no tail — no above and no beneath. The birthright would mean
nothing.
Because hear this: a firstborn is only a firstborn if others are born after him.
"Israel is my son, even my firstborn." — Exodus 4:22
"To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven." —
Hebrews 12:23
"Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of
his creatures." — James 1:18
Firstborn. Firstfruits. You cannot have a first harvest unless there is a later harvest. You cannot
have an heir who rules unless there are others to be ruled and served and taught.
So YAHWEH drew a veil over the nations, and He sent the god of this world to hold it in place,
to protect the birthright of Abraham's seed. That is not cruelty. That is covenant faithfulness.
YAHWEH would rather hold the nations in darkness for a season than break His oath to
Abraham for a single day.
Judah First
And watch the order YAHWEH set. The light went to Judah first.
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of Elohim unto salvation to
every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." — Romans 1:16
YAHSHUA was born in Judah, of the tribe of Judah, in the city of David. He told His disciples:
"Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go
rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." — Matthew 10:5-6
"I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." — Matthew 15:24
To Judah went the oracles of Elohim (Romans 3:2). To Judah went the Messiah. To Judah went
the first offer.
And Judah stumbled.
The Fulness of the Nations
Now look at what Paul says happened next — and this is where the whole mystery opens:
"For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise
in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the
Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved." — Romans 11:25-26
Until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. The churches read that and think Paul is talking
about a church of Greeks and Romans filling up the pews. But Paul is quoting Jacob.
When Jacob crossed his hands over the sons of Joseph and put the birthright on the younger,
he said of Ephraim:
"His younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of
nations." — Genesis 48:19
The Hebrew there is m'lo ha-goyim — literally, "the fulness of the nations."
FHaMIly, "the fulness of the Gentiles" is Ephraim! It is the seed of Joseph, scattered and sown
among the nations until it became a multitude of nations. Judah was blinded in part until
Ephraim's fulness comes in — the Lost Tribes, gathered from among the nations where they
were sown. "And so all Israel shall be saved." Not a church replacing Israel. Both houses of
Israel, in their order.
That is why Hosea's promise to the divorced house of Israel — "Ye are not my people... Ye are
the sons of the living El" (Hosea 1:10) — is the very promise Peter applies to the scattered
believers he wrote to: "Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of Elohim"
(1 Peter 2:10). The lost sheep were being found among the nations.
The First Shall Be Last, and the Last First
And now you understand one of the most quoted and least understood sayings YAHSHUA
ever spoke:
"So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen." — Matthew
20:16
Judah was first — first to receive the oracles, first to receive the Messiah, first to receive the
offer. And Judah, stumbling, became last.
The Lost Tribes were last — divorced, scattered, "not my people," forgotten even by
themselves. And the Lost Tribes, called out from among the nations, became first.
And then Judah is restored:
"And they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one
mourneth for his only son." — Zechariah 12:10
"In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen." — Amos 9:11
The Lost Tribes first. Then Judah restored. Then the rest of all men. And that, FHaMIly, is this
day — the eighth day — when the veil is finally torn off the nations.
Sent to the Sheep, Not Yet to the World
And YAHWEH gave me more. Hear again the verse every church quotes and almost none
understand:
"For Elohim sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world
through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that
believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of Elohim. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and
men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." — John 3:17-19
Read it carefully, FHaMIly. "This is the condemnation, that light is come." What condemns a
man? Not his ignorance. Rejecting the light condemns him. YAHSHUA said it twice more:
"If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke
for their sin." — John 15:22
"If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin
remaineth." — John 9:41
Now put that beside what YAHSHUA said about His own mission:
"I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." — Matthew 15:24
Do you see it? If the Son had offered Himself to the whole world in this age, the whole world
would stand condemned. Every nation that heard and turned away would have "no cloke for
their sin." The Chinese, the Africans, the tribes of the Amazon, Sodom and Nineveh and
Babylon — all of them, condemned for rejecting a Messiah offered to them before their eyes
were opened.
But He did not make that offer to the world. He was sent to the lost sheep. The light came to the
sheep, and the veil stayed over the nations. And because the offer was never laid before them,
the world is not condemned. The world has not rejected Him. The world has not yet been
asked.
"Elohim sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him
might be saved." The Father kept the world from condemnation by keeping the offer back until
its day.
Now hear me carefully, because this is where men go wrong. YAHWEH held back the offer,
not the blood. The blood was shed for all:
"And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the
whole world." — 1 John 2:2
But it was shed in order. The Passover lamb was slain "a lamb for an house" (Exodus 12:3) — for
the houses of Israel. YAHSHUA said, "I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have,
which are not of this fold: them also I must bring" (John 10:15-16) — Judah's fold, and Ephraim
scattered among the nations. And the high priest Caiaphas prophesied without even knowing
it:
"He prophesied that YAHSHUA should die for that nation; and not for that nation only, but
that also he should gather together in one the children of Elohim that were scattered
abroad." — John 11:51-52
He died first for the sheep — and through the sheep, for the world. Every man in his own
order. The sheep are called now and judged now. The world is spared now and called later. And
on the eighth day, when the veil comes off, the world will hear the offer for the first time, with
the deceiver gone and the books open — and "the world through him" shall be saved.
The Veil Comes Off
Because the veil was never meant to stay. Hear Isaiah:
"And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the
vail that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and Adonai
YAHWEH will wipe away tears from off all faces." — Isaiah 25:7-8
The covering cast over all people. The vail spread over all nations. YAHWEH Himself spread it
— and YAHWEH Himself will destroy it. And notice what comes with it: He will swallow up
death in victory. The veil comes off at the resurrection.
So here is the revelation, FHaMIly, in one breath: YAHWEH blinded the world, and used the
adversary to do it, to keep His oath to Abraham — so that the birthright would go to the
heirs first, Judah first and then the Lost Tribes, the first becoming last and the last
becoming first. He sent His Son to the sheep and not yet to the world, so that the world
would not be condemned for rejecting a light it was never shown. And when the heirs are
seated on their thrones, the veil comes off, and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth
be blessed.
The nations were not robbed. They were waiting — waiting for their teachers to be crowned.
The birthright was never a privilege to look down on the nations from. It was the right to be
first in line to serve them — to be the prophets, priests and kings who stand at the river on the
eighth day and hand them the living water.
V. JUDGMENT MEANS GOVERNMENT
The churches hear the word "judgment" and they think only of a courtroom and a sentence. A
gavel falls, the doors of hell open, and it is over.
But the Scriptures use the word judge in two ways. To judge can mean to pass sentence on
what was done. But to judge also means to rule, to govern, to administer. That is why Israel's
leaders before the kings were called judges. Gideon, Deborah, Samuel — they did not merely
sentence Israel. They governed Israel. They led her, corrected her, taught her, delivered her.
So when Scripture speaks of the judgment of YAHWEH, we must ask: is this a moment of
sentencing, or a season of governing?
And Peter tells us that YAHWEH's judgment comes in an order:
"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of YAHWEH." — 1 Peter 4:17
Judgment begins at the house. It does not begin with the world. It begins with those who
have been called now.
And who is being called now? FHaMIly, we have taught you this: in this age, it is the house of
Israel — the scattered, the lost tribes, the children of Abraham who were sown among the
nations — who are being called home. And any gentile who believes must join himself to
Israel, as Israel.
And even those who are called do not produce their own faith. "All men have not faith" (2
Thessalonians 3:2). Faith is not something a man drums up in himself. It is the faith of Messiah
— given by the Father to the Son, and given by the Son to those the Spirit elects. No man seeks
after Elohim; Elohim seeks the man.
So here is the logic of heaven, and it is airtight:
1. If faith is a gift, and
2. If that gift has not yet been given to the billions, then
3. Those billions have not yet been judged. They have only been waiting.
YAHWEH has not lost a single one of them. He has simply not come to their row in the field
yet.
VI. EVERY MAN IN HIS OWN ORDER
Paul lays out the harvest schedule for us:
"For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own
order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. Then cometh the
end..." — 1 Corinthians 15:22-24
Every man in his own order. Not every man at the same time. Every man in his order.
Here is the order, written into the feasts themselves:
First — the Firstfruits. YAHSHUA, the firstborn from the dead, waved before the Father.
Second — the Overcomers. Those who are His at His coming, raised in the first resurrection.
These are the 144,000 — not a head count, FHaMIly, but a quality count. Twelve times twelve:
the number of divine government. Every overcomer who achieves the high calling. These
receive the glorified body, the body like His own (Philippians 3:21). These are "accounted
worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead... neither can they die any
more" (Luke 20:35-36). These sit on thrones.
Third — the Millennial Nations. Mortal men and women living through the thousand years
under the rule of Messiah and His brethren, learning the Torah, marrying, building houses,
planting vineyards. And in that age the order is set: the Lost Tribes restored first, then Judah
raised up, then the rest of all men.
Fourth — the Rest of the Dead. And here is where the eighth day stands:
"But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished." —
Revelation 20:5
The rest of the dead. Not the lost dead. The rest of the dead. The ones whose turn had not yet
come.
VII. THE VALLEY OF DRY BONES
Now come with me to the valley.
"Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they
say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore
prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith Adonai YAHWEH; Behold, O my people, I will open
your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of
Israel. And ye shall know that I am YAHWEH, when I have opened your graves, O my
people, and brought you up out of your graves, and shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall
live, and I shall place you in your own land." — Ezekiel 37:11-14
Listen to what the bones say: "Our hope is lost. We are cut off."
That is exactly what the churches say about them. Cut off. Hopeless. Gone.
And YAHWEH answers: No. I will open your graves.
And watch the order, because YAHWEH never wastes a word:
1. Graves opened.
2. Bodies raised — sinew, flesh, skin.
3. Spirit given — "I shall put my spirit in you."
4. Land possessed — "I shall place you in your own land."
This is not a vision of a nation politically regathered in 1948. Politics does not open graves. This
is the whole house of Israel — both houses, Ephraim and Judah — raised from the dust of the
earth, given flesh, and then given the Spirit. They come up out of the ground first and receive
the Spirit second. That means they did not have the Spirit when they died. They died without
it. They died blinded. And YAHWEH raises them anyway, to give them what they never had.
And it is not Israel alone. Hear Ezekiel again, speaking of the most wicked cities in the Bible:
"When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the
captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy captives
in the midst of them... When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their
former estate..." — Ezekiel 16:53, 55
Sodom returns to her former estate. Sodom! The city of fire and brimstone! The very city the
preachers use as their proof of eternal burning!
And remember our opening text — YAHSHUA Himself confirmed it:
"It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee." —
Matthew 11:24
Ezekiel says Sodom returns. YAHSHUA says Sodom stands in judgment. Two witnesses, one
truth. You cannot be "more tolerable" in a day you do not attend. Sodom stands in the day of
judgment. Tyre and Sidon stand. Nineveh stands up and condemns the generation that
rejected YAHSHUA (Matthew 12:41). The Queen of the South rises with them (Matthew
12:42).
They are all coming back, FHaMIly. Every one of them.
And Paul sealed it for the house of Israel — the same stubborn, rebellious, prophet-killing
Israel that the theologians have consigned to the flames:
"And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer,
and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob." — Romans 11:26
All Israel. Every generation that bowed to Baal. Every tribe that was carried away to Assyria
and forgot its own name. The bones in the valley are that Israel — and they shall be saved.
VIII. THE GREAT WHITE THRONE
"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it... And I saw the dead, small and great,
stand before Elohim; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is
the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the
books, according to their works." — Revelation 20:11-12
Now notice three things about this scene that the churches always miss.
First — the deceiver is already gone. Read the verse right before the throne:
"And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone..." —
Revelation 20:10
Before a single one of the dead stands before the throne, the deceiver is removed. For six
thousand years the nations were judged with a liar whispering in their ear. Not this time. At the
Great White Throne, every man stands with a clear mind for the first time in human history.
No blinding. No deception. No god of this world. Just the truth, and the choice.
Second — the books are opened. Not slammed shut — opened. The word of YAHWEH, the
Torah, the testimony of the prophets and of Messiah, is opened to their understanding. They
are judged according to what is written — which means they are finally given what is written.
This is the true Simchat Torah: the scroll opened, and the Torah read to all the assembled dead,
just as Moses commanded it read to all Israel at the end of the seven.
And hear me carefully: this is not a second chance. The churches mock us for teaching "a
second chance." But these people never had a first chance. A blind man who could not see the
door was never offered the door. The Great White Throne is their first opportunity to see, to
understand, and to receive the Spirit.
That is why the writer of Hebrews said:
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." — Hebrews 9:27
After death — the judgment. Not judgment at death, but judgment after it. Death comes once;
then, after the resurrection, the season of judgment. And Isaiah tells us that season will have
length to it — the one who dies at a hundred years old is counted a child (Isaiah 65:20). It is a
lifetime of learning, not a moment of sentencing. They are not sentenced — they are judged,
which is to say, taught and governed.
Now picture that day. Men who died on battlefields, in plague wards, in concentration camps,
in shipwrecks, in the slave holds of ships — suddenly standing up, alive. To them it will seem
like an instant since their last breath, though thousands of years have passed. Men born blind
will open their eyes and see. Men who lived in chains will look down at free hands. Every
language, every nation, every century, standing together. And somebody is going to have to
organize them, house them, feed them, and teach them the ways of YAHWEH.
FHaMIly, that somebody is you.
Third — the One on the throne is a Man. Hear YAHSHUA's own words:
"For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son... And hath
given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man." — John 5:22,
27
Because he is the Son of man. The Judge of all the earth is not a stranger to them. He is one of
them — a man of their own flesh, the last Adam, who was tempted in every way as they were.
The glory was given Him by the Father, and with it the authority to sit on that throne.
And He does not sit there alone.
"And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them." —
Revelation 20:4
"Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world?" — 1 Corinthians 6:2
FHaMIly, this is why we train you now as prophets, priests and kings. This is why the school
of the prophets exists. Do you think YAHWEH is raising up billions of people from the dead to
have them taught by men who never mastered the Torah? The brethren of YAHSHUA will be
their teachers, their priests, their judges. Isaiah saw it:
"Thine eyes shall see thy teachers: and thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying,
This is the way, walk ye in it." — Isaiah 30:20-21
You are being trained tonight for a classroom of billions. Every Sabbath you keep, every feast
you rehearse, every chapter you master is preparation for the day you will stand beside the
throne and say to a man raised from the dust of ancient Nineveh: This is the way. Walk in it.
IX. WHERE THE FIRE LEADS
Now I must speak plainly, because a faithful teacher does not stop where his teachers stopped.
There are Sabbath-keepers who saw the second resurrection. They saw the hundred years of
Isaiah 65. They saw the billions given their first real chance. Praise YAHWEH for what they
saw. But they taught that those who refused in that age would simply be burned up — blotted
out — and that would be the end of them. They called that refusing remnant a minority, and
said the great majority would come into the Kingdom. They were right about the majority.
FHaMIly, I believe the Scriptures carry us all the way to all.
"For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; and, having made peace
through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself." — Colossians
1:19-20
"That at the name of YAHSHUA every knee should bow... and that every tongue should
confess that YAHSHUA Messiah is Lord, to the glory of YAHWEH the Father." —
Philippians 2:10-11
"We trust in the living Elohim, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe."
— 1 Timothy 4:10
"And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject
unto him that put all things under him, that Elohim may be all in all." — 1 Corinthians 15:28
Saviour of all men.Specially of those who believe — the firstfruits, the overcomers, those who
receive the high calling. But Saviour of all.
The fire of YAHWEH is not a torture chamber. It is a refiner's fire. "He is like a refiner's fire, and
like fullers' soap" (Malachi 3:2). His judgment is corrective. It burns away what is false so that
what He made can be restored. The deceived — the nations, the blinded billions, even the
fallen spirits who followed the rebellion — are restored by mercy, in their order, through
judgment.
But there is one exception, and it is the exception that makes the whole plan just.
The Nameless One — the accuser, the originator of rebellion — was deceived by no one. He
sinned with full knowledge, full authority, with a high hand (Numbers 15:30). He is the Azazel
goat of Leviticus 16, who carries the sin back to where it began and is sent away forever.
Every deceived soul is restored. The deceiver is removed. And his removal is not a failure of
reconciliation — his removal completes it. Justice ends where sin started.
That is the gospel of the eighth day. Not a Father who lost most of His children. A Father who
lost none of them — except the one who stole them.
X. THE LIVING WATER
Now we come back to where we began — to a Man standing in the temple courts on this very
day.
"In the last day, that great day of the feast, YAHSHUA stood and cried..."
He did not whisper it. He cried it. He stood up and shouted it over the crowd. On the eighth day
— the day that pictures the raising of all the dead — YAHSHUA lifts His voice and says: If any
man thirst.
Any man. Not any Israelite. Not any member of a church. Any man.
Isaiah had said it long before:
"Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation." — Isaiah 12:3
And Ezekiel saw where that water goes. He saw a river flowing out from under the threshold of
the house of YAHWEH, rising to the ankles, the knees, the loins, until it was a river no man
could cross. And where did it flow? Into the Dead Sea.
"These waters issue out toward the east country... and go into the sea: which being brought
forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed... and every thing shall live whither the river
cometh." — Ezekiel 47:8-9
Every thing shall live whither the river cometh. The river of life flows into the Sea of Death,
and the Sea of Death comes alive.
That is the eighth day. That is the Great White Throne. The river of the Spirit pours into the
valley of dry bones, into the sea of the dead, into Sodom and Nineveh and Babylon — and
everything lives where the river comes.
And John saw the end of it:
"And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne
of Elohim and of the Lamb... and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations...
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that
is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." — Revelation 22:1-
2, 17
The Spirit and the bride say, Come. FHaMIly, you are part of that bride. And on that day, the
bride will not be sitting in heaven playing a harp. The bride will be standing at the riverbank,
alongside her Husband, crying out to the resurrected billions: Come. Drink. It is free.
XI. A MEMORY FROM THE FUTURE
Why do we keep this day? Why do we gather on a day that has no harvest, to rehearse an event
that has not yet happened?
Because the Spirit you received at your immersion is a Holy Mind, and it holds the end from
the beginning. Every feast you keep exercises that mind. Every year you stand on this eighth
day, the Spirit within you remembers forward — it recalls a day that is already written, already
settled in the counsel of YAHWEH.
The shadows of things to come are memories of things that already are.
So when you stand here tonight, you are not guessing about the future. You are remembering
it. And the memory is this: graves opening. Bones rattling. Water flowing. A Man on a white
throne with His brethren beside Him, and the books opened, and the billions coming home.
And if our reckoning of the millennial days is right, FHaMIly, the end of man's six days is not
centuries away. It is within the lifetime of most of the people in this room. The eighth day is not
a fairy tale for some distant age. Its first light is already on the horizon.
XII. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU TONIGHT
Let me bring this home.
To the one who asked, where is that good man who never believed? He is asleep, in his order,
waiting for the voice of the Son of Man. He has never yet been offered what you have been
offered. His day is coming.
To the mother whose son died far from YAHWEH. He is not lost. He is waiting in his order.
The river has not reached him yet — but it will. Hold on to the eighth day.
To the man whose father never heard the Name. Your father is not in torment. He is asleep in
the dust, and the voice of the Son of Man will reach him. "The hour is coming, in the which all
that are in the graves shall hear his voice" (John 5:28). All that are in the graves.
To the one who weeps for the nations. Do not despair over a world in rebellion. The world is
blind, not hopeless. Its day is coming.
To every one of you who has been called now — understand the weight of what you carry. You
were not called because you are better than the billions. You were called early — called to be
trained, called to be the teachers, called to be the priests who will stand at the riverbank. The
firstfruits are not the whole harvest. They are the promise of the whole harvest.
So stop treating the people of this world as enemies to be condemned. The man who mocks
your Sabbath today may be the student you teach in the second resurrection. The neighbor
who curses your Name may one day bow before the throne and weep with joy at the water you
hand him. Your job is not to damn them. Your job is to become qualified to save them.
THE CHARGE
FHaMIly, stand to your feet.
On this last great day, I charge you:
Believe the Father's heart. He is not willing that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9). Do not let any
pulpit shrink Him into a Judge who lost the world.
Master your calling. Prophet. Priest. King. Learn the Torah like you will one day have to teach
it to a resurrected Pharaoh — because you might.
Keep the river flowing. Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water. Let the Spirit train
your mind by repetition, Sabbath after Sabbath, feast after feast, until the memory of the
future is clearer to you than the noise of the present.
And when the eighth day dawns, may you be found standing beside your Elder Brother at the
banks of that river, crying with Him:
If any man thirst — let him come.
DECLARATION
YAHWEH is the Saviour of all men.Every man shall rise in his own order. Those who were held
back shall be gathered in, and the Torah shall be read in the hearing of all.It shall be more
tolerable for Sodom, for every man shall be judged by the light he was given. The veil was
spread over the nations to keep the oath to Abraham, and it shall be torn away when the heirs
are seated. The Son was sent not to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might
be saved. The deceiver shall be removed, and the deceived shall be restored. The river shall
flow into the Sea of Death, and everything shall live where the river comes. And YAHWEH shall
be all in all.
HalleluYAH.
