PASTORAL LETTER TO THE CONGREGATION OF FIRST HARVEST MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL From the Desk of Apostolic Overseer Rev. John Shane Vaughn First Harvest Ministries International RE: THE COUNCIL OF NICAEA AND OUR EXODUS FROM BABYLON Dear Beloved Saints and Scattered Israelites, Grace and shalom to you in the name of Yahshua, the Son of the Living Yahweh. I write to you today with a burden on my heart concerning a matter that strikes at the very foundation of why First Harvest Ministries International exist and why you have been called out of the religious systems of confusion that dominate this world. This week marks the 1700th anniversary of one of the most catastrophic events in the history of the faith once delivered to the saints—the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD. In celebration thereof, just days ago, Pope Leo XIV has issued a letter celebrating this event as a glorious achievement of Christian unity. But beloved, what he celebrates as unity, I must expose as the very beginning of spiritual Babylon—the mother of harlots who has made the nations drunk with the wine of her fornication. THE POPE'S SHOCKING DECLARATION: CIVIL ENFORCEMENT IS NECESSARY But before I take you back to Nicaea itself, I need you to see something absolutely chilling in the Pope's letter. Pay close attention to what he wrote: "As I prepare for my apostolic journey to Turkey, I would like this letter to encourage the whole church to renew her enthusiasm for the profession of faith. For centuries, this enduring confession of faith has been the common heritage of Christians, and it deserves to be professed and understood in ever new and relevant ways. To this end, a significant document by the International Theological Commission was approved: Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior. 1700th Anniversary of the Ecumenical Council of Nicaea." The document he refers to emphasizes the Trinity as the key to Christian unity. But here is what should alarm every person who values religious freedom: His letter goes further. It presents Emperor Constantine's use of civil authority to enforce doctrinal beliefs as NECESSARY. Let that sink in. The Pope—the most powerful religious leader in the world—is declaring that it was NECESSARY for a civil ruler to use government power to force Christians to accept certain doctrines. He's not saying it was unfortunate but understandable given the times. He's not saying it was regrettable but unavoidable. He's saying it was NECESSARY. Required. Essential. The right thing to do. This is not ancient history, beloved. This is a prophetic declaration of intent. When the Pope says Constantine's use of civil authority to enforce doctrine was necessary, he is telegraphing to the world that the Roman Catholic Church believes religious unity REQUIRES government enforcement. He is saying that when the Church deems it necessary, civil power SHOULD be used to compel doctrinal conformity. This is the most dangerous statement a religious leader can make in a free society. Because once you establish the principle that government can enforce religious doctrine "when necessary," the only question that remains is: Who decides when it's necessary? And beloved, I am telling you prophetically: They have already decided. The ecumenical movement is not about gentle persuasion and theological dialogue. It is about consolidating power and establishing the framework for enforced unity. And when that framework is complete, those who refuse to conform will face the same fate as the Passover-keepers and Sabbath- observers who refused Constantine's decree 1700 years ago. THE DARK LEGACY OF NICAEA: WHEN ROME SEIZED THE FAITH Let me take you back to that pivotal moment in history. In 325 AD, the Roman Emperor Constantine—a pagan sun-worshipper who claimed a conversion experience—summoned the bishops of the known world to the city of Nicaea. The issue at hand was a theological dispute between Arius and Bishop Alexander over the nature of Yahshua the Messiah. But here is what your pastor wants you to understand with absolute clarity: This was NOT a gathering of humble servants seeking truth from Scripture. This was a POLITICAL COUNCIL convened by a CIVIL RULER to enforce DOCTRINAL UNITY across his empire. Constantine did not care about truth; he cared about control. He did not seek the guidance of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit); he sought the power to command compliance. Let me give you a modern-day parallel so you can grasp the gravity of what happened at Nicaea. Imagine tomorrow the President summons all Christian leaders to Washington D.C. with an offer: "We're creating enhanced tax credits for church giving—dollar-for-dollar credits that will effectively double every member's giving power. Building campaigns that seemed impossible become feasible. Missionary work expands exponentially." The room erupts in applause. Then comes the condition: "To qualify, churches must join our official American Recognized Ecclesiastical List. To be on this list, all denominations simply need to agree on a few basic doctrinal positions—the essentials all Christians can affirm. We're bringing in theological advisors to help you reach consensus." The trap is set. It's no longer "What does Scripture say?" but "Can we afford NOT to be on that list?" Churches that refuse will watch members leave for "approved" congregations. Pastors who stand on conviction will be labeled divisive. And these "basic essentials"? The Nicene Creed. The Trinity. Sunday worship. Distance from "fringe" groups observing Passover or Sabbath. The government doesn't threaten violence. It doesn't ban beliefs. It simply rewards conformity and penalizes conviction. Churches police themselves. Pastors rationalize compromise as "wisdom." Sound far-fetched? Beloved, this is EXACTLY what Constantine did at Nicaea. He offered church leaders recognition, protection, and imperial favor. He promised unity and peace. He positioned himself as a benefactor of Christianity. And in exchange, he demanded conformity on doctrine—specifically on the nature of the Messiah and the date of Passover/Easter. The bishops who attended Nicaea weren't threatened with death if they refused to sign the creed—at least not initially. They were threatened with exile, loss of position, and exclusion from the imperial church. The violence came later, after the system was established, when those who refused to comply were hunted down as heretics. This is how religious freedom dies. Not with soldiers and persecution— that comes later. It dies with incentives and official recognition. It dies when churches trade truth for tax benefits, conviction for cultural acceptance, and Scripture for political approval. And beloved, I am telling you prophetically: This is coming to America. Perhaps not tomorrow. Perhaps not in exactly this form. But the spirit of Constantine is alive and well. The desire to use government power to enforce religious unity has never died. And in the name of "strengthening the Church's witness" or "protecting religious freedom" or "ensuring accountability," political leaders will offer churches a deal that seems too good to refuse. FHMI will refuse it. We refused it 1700 years ago, and we will refuse it in the days ahead. Let me be clear about what I mean by "we refused it." At the Council of Nicaea, NOT ALL the bishops signed Constantine's creed. There were faithful men—true servants of Yahweh—who looked at what was happening, recognized the political manipulation, saw the doctrinal compromise being demanded, and walked away. They refused to sign. They refused to conform. They chose exile, persecution, and eventual martyrdom over compromise with an emperor's decree. History has largely erased their names because the victors write the history books. But Yahweh knows who they were. And we are their spiritual descendants. When I say "we refused it 1700 years ago," I am speaking of those faithful bishops and the congregations they led—the ones who kept Passover when Constantine outlawed it, who maintained biblical Sabbath when Rome enforced Sunday, who proclaimed Yahshua as the human Son of Yahweh when the empire demanded they confess Him as "God the Son." THEIR blood is in our spiritual veins. THEIR conviction flows through this ministry. THEIR refusal to bow is the legacy we carry forward. And just as they walked away from Nicaea's compromised council, we have walked away from modern Babylon's system of control. We will not trade truth for tax credits. We will not compromise doctrine for government approval. We will not join any "recognized ecclesiastical list" that requires us to deny what Scripture clearly teaches about the nature of Yahshua, the observance of biblical feast days, or the authority of Torah. This is the very reason we are not a 501c3 congregation. We have deliberately chosen to remain free from government entanglement, even though it costs us tax advantages and certain legal protections. We made this decision because we understand that any system that offers benefits in exchange for compliance eventually demands doctrinal compromise. The 501c3 status may seem harmless today, but it establishes the legal framework for government oversight of religious doctrine tomorrow. We will not give Caesar authority over the Church of the Living Yahweh. This is why we must understand Nicaea. Because Nicaea is not ancient history—it is prophecy. What happened then is the pattern for what will happen again. And those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. At this council, the doctrine of the Trinity—as it is understood today by most churches—was formalized and enforced by imperial decree. Three centuries after Yahshua walked the earth, three centuries after the apostles had died, a pagan emperor presided over the creation of a doctrine that would become the cornerstone of institutional Christianity. Stop and consider what three centuries means. America has only been a nation for approximately 250 years. Think about how drastically America has changed from the founding fathers' vision to what we see today. In 1776, America was a constitutional republic with limited government, biblical morality as the cultural foundation, and agrarian communities as the norm. Today, we have a massive federal bureaucracy, moral relativism, and digital technology that the founders could never have imagined. In just 250 years, we went from quill pens to artificial intelligence, from horse-drawn carriages to space exploration, from town hall meetings to social media echo chambers. The America of 2025 would be unrecognizable—and in many ways unacceptable—to George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin. Now add another 50 years to that timeline. That's how long the church had drifted from its apostolic roots by the time Constantine called the Council of Nicaea. Imagine if the pure apostolic faith—the faith delivered by Yahshua to His disciples, the faith practiced in Jerusalem under James and the elders, the faith that observed Passover and kept Sabbath and taught that Yahshua was the human Son of Yahweh—imagine that faith being passed down through three centuries of persecution, compromise, Gentile converts who brought pagan philosophies, power struggles, cultural assimilation, and gradual drift. By 325 AD, the church looked NOTHING like what the apostles had established. The worship had changed. The doctrines had evolved. Greek philosophy had merged with Hebrew truth. Political ambition had replaced spiritual authority. And most tragically, the clear biblical teaching about Yahshua's identity had been muddied by theological speculation borrowed from pagan trinitarian concepts. When Constantine gathered those bishops at Nicaea, he wasn't gathering men who had sat at Yahshua's feet or learned from the apostles. He was gathering the spiritual descendants of three centuries of compromise—men who were already debating Greek philosophical concepts about "substance" and "essence" and "co-equality" instead of simply reading what the apostles wrote. And anyone who refused to accept it was branded a heretic, hunted down, and many were slaughtered. THE BLOOD OF THE MARTYRS CRIES OUT The Pope's letter speaks eloquently of unity and ecumenical dialogue, but it conveniently omits the blood-soaked history that followed Nicaea. The Book of Revelation speaks of the Church at Smyrna suffering "tribulation ten days" (Revelation 2:10). Using the prophetic principle of a day representing a year, this refers to ten years of brutal persecution that true believers endured after Constantine's council. Who were these believers? They were the faithful followers of Yahshua who refused to bow to Rome's new doctrines. They were the Passover- keepers, the Sabbath-observers, the ones who maintained the apostolic faith handed down from Jerusalem—not the compromised religion being manufactured in Rome. They were the ones who honored authority in the church and Apostolic structure and order, not the political hierarchies being imposed by an empire. Constantine personally championed military operations to eradicate these faithful saints. His goal was singular: Force everyone to join the Catholic Church or face the consequences. This is not ancient irrelevant history, beloved. This is the story of YOUR spiritual ancestors. This is the story of true Israelites who refused to drink from Babylon's golden cup of abominations. WHY FHMI EXISTS: LEADING ISRAELITES OUT OF BABYLON Now you understand why First Harvest Ministries International exists. Now you understand why Yahweh has raised up this ministry in these last days. We are not just another church offering religious entertainment. We are not just another ministry teaching "feel-good" sermons that make no demands on your life. FHMI is a prophetic voice calling scattered Israelites OUT OF BABYLON. When we teach that Yahshua is the Son of Yahweh—the human Messiah born of a young maiden, filled with the fullness of Yahweh's spirit upon His resurrection—but not YAHWEH in the FLESH or YAHWEH INCARNATED, we are not being controversial. We are being BIBLICAL. We are refusing to bow to a doctrine that was forced on Christianity by a pagan emperor at the point of a sword. When we observe the biblical Feast Days—Passover, Unleavened Bread, Shavuot (Pentecost), Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot (Tabernacles)— instead of pagan holidays like Christmas and Easter, we are not being legalistic. We are being FAITHFUL. We are keeping the appointments that Yahweh Himself established and that Yahshua and the apostles never abandoned. When we teach Torah observance—not as a means of salvation, but as the righteous standard for redeemed people—we are not putting you under bondage. We are setting you FREE from the lawless religion of Babylon that says "grace" means you can live however you please. When we reject the Trinity doctrine and proclaim the clear biblical truth that Yahweh is ONE—and that Yahshua is His beloved Son who died as a MAN to redeem mankind—we are not diminishing the Messiah. We are honoring BOTH the Father and the Son by speaking truth instead of philosophical confusion borrowed from Greek paganism. When we teach Israelite government structure in the Qahal/Ekklesia/Church—We are restoring top-down Kingdom authority structure as once delivered to the Saints. We are not imposing human hierarchy, but restoring the divine order that Yahweh established through His apostles and prophets. A RARE REMNANT: EVEN AMONG THE "REMNANT" Beloved, I must share something with you that weighs heavily on my heart. What makes FHMI's position so rare—and so precious—is that we stand virtually alone even among groups that claim to have left Babylon. It is disheartening to realize that even in the Messianic movement, even among Sabbath-keeping congregations such as the Seventh-Day Adventists, even in Feast-keeping groups who claim to follow "The Way," this false doctrine of Incarnation is still everywhere. They have left Sunday worship. They have rejected Christmas and Easter. They observe the biblical Sabbath and celebrate Yahweh's appointed feast days. They teach Torah observance and speak of returning to the faith once delivered to the saints. But when you ask them about the nature of Yahshua, they still cling to the doctrines of Nicaea. They still teach that Yahweh became flesh. They still proclaim that the eternal, immortal, invisible God somehow entered a human body. They still confuse the Father and the Son in ways that would have been foreign to the apostles. Some embrace Trinitarianism—three co-equal, co-eternal persons in one God. Others embrace Modalism—one God manifesting in three different modes or roles. But both systems deny the simple biblical truth: Yahshua is the HUMAN Son of Yahweh, not Yahweh Himself incarnated. I know of very few places in the entire world that have forsaken BOTH Trinitarianism AND Modalism to follow the true way. Most groups that leave one error fall into the other. They escape the Trinity only to embrace the "Oneness" doctrine that says Yahshua IS the Father. They reject Modalism only to embrace the Trinity that says Yahshua is co-equal with the Father. But FHMI stands in that rare place—that narrow way—that rejects both errors and proclaims the apostolic truth: Yahweh is ONE. Yahshua is His human Son, who is now Divine at the exalted High Priestly position in the restored and cleansed heavenly temple. They are not the same being. They are not co-equal. Yahshua is subordinate to, sent by, and distinct from the Father. He is the mediator between Yahweh and mankind—and you cannot mediate between two parties if you ARE one of the parties. I am so thankful for First Harvest Ministries International. I am thankful that Yahweh has preserved this truth in this house. I am thankful that you, beloved congregation, have been willing to stand with this teaching even when it means standing virtually alone—not just alone against mainstream Christianity, but alone even among those who claim to be the remnant. This is what it means to be the remnant of the remnant. This is what it means to truly come out of Babylon—not just her obvious errors, but her deepest deceptions that have infected even those who think they have escaped her. THE ECUMENICAL TRAP: ROME'S CALL TO UNITY Pope Leo XIV's letter reveals the strategy of the end-times religious system. He speaks of bringing together Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, and Protestants under the banner of the Nicene Creed. He speaks of "full visible unity" and calls the Trinity the key to Christian reconciliation. Beloved, this is the voice of the harlot calling her daughters home. Revelation 17 speaks of a woman—a great religious system—who sits on seven hills (Rome) and is drunk with the blood of the saints. She has daughters—the Protestant churches that broke away from Rome but never fully left her doctrines. And in the last days, she seeks to bring them all back under her authority. This ecumenical movement is not about truth. It is about POWER. It is about establishing a one-world religious system that will eventually persecute those who refuse to comply—just as Constantine did 1700 years ago. THE PROPHETIC CYCLE: WHAT FORMED BABYLON WILL BRING IT DOWN Now I want to reveal to you a profound prophetic truth that the Spirit has laid on my heart. Pay close attention, beloved, for this is critical to understanding the times we are living in: THE VERY SAME ISSUE THAT FORMED MODERN-DAY BABYLON AT NICAEA WILL BE THE VERY SAME ISSUE THAT BRINGS IT DOWN IN THE END—THE NATURE OF YAHSHUA. Do you see the prophetic cycle? In 325 AD, the question "Who is Yahshua?" became the catalyst for Rome's seizure of Christianity. Constantine forced the bishops to create a doctrine—the Trinity—that made Yahshua equal with Yahweh, co-eternal, co-equal, of the same substance. This doctrine became the cornerstone of institutional Christianity. It became the test of orthodoxy. Accept it or die. But here is what Babylon did not count on: In the last days, that same question ”Who is Yahshua?" would resurface with power. And this time, the answer would not come from a pagan emperor or a compromised council. This time, the answer would come from the restored remnant who have heard the restoration voice of Elijah, who have rediscovered the lost apostolic truth. Yahshua is the SON OF YAHWEH—the human Messiah, born of a young maiden, filled with the fullness of Yahweh's spirit upon His resurrection, but NOT Yahweh Himself. He is the perfect Lamb of Yahweh who came forth from the waters of baptism, a brand-new man henceforth fulfilling a one- year ministry as the perfect, sinless yearling Lamb of Yahweh. He was raised from the dead and exalted to the right hand of Yahweh. But He remains distinct from the Father. He is not YAHWEH INCARNATED. He is the mediator BETWEEN Yahweh and men—"the man Yahshua Messiah" (1 Timothy 2:5). This truth—the biblical, apostolic, scriptural truth about Yahshua's nature—is the very truth that will expose Babylon's foundation as false. When the remnant arises in the last days proclaiming the true identity of the Messiah, it will shake the entire religious establishment to its core. Why? Because if the Trinity is false, then the entire edifice of Roman Christianity collapses. If Constantine's doctrine was a political invention rather than divine revelation, then Rome's claim to spiritual authority is exposed as fraudulent. If Yahshua is not "God the Son" but rather the human Son of Yahweh, then every council, every creed, every decree that flows from Nicaea is built on sand. This is why the ecumenical movement is so desperate to unify around the Nicene Creed. They know that if the Trinity falls, everything falls. They know that the question "Who is Yahshua?" is the Achilles heel of the entire Babylonian system. And beloved, this is precisely why FHMI exists. We are not attacking the Trinity out of theological stubbornness or a desire to be controversial. We are proclaiming the truth about Yahshua's nature because THIS is the issue that will divide the remnant from the apostate church. THIS is the issue that will expose Babylon. THIS is the issue that brought her into being, and THIS is the issue that will bring her down. The prophet Daniel saw this in his vision of the great image with the head of gold and feet of iron mixed with clay (Daniel 2). That statue represented the succession of world empires, but it also represents the religious- political systems that have dominated the world. And what brought that entire statue crashing down? A stone "cut out without hands" that struck the feet—the foundation. Beloved, the Trinity is the feet of Babylon's statue. It is the foundation upon which the entire system rests. And when the stone—the true revelation of who Yahshua really is—strikes that foundation, the whole thing will come tumbling down. This is not just theology. This is prophecy. This is warfare. This is the final battle for truth. Peter stood up on the Day of Pentecost and declared, "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ" (Acts 2:36). Notice the language: Yahweh MADE Yahshua Lord and Christ. He didn't recognize an eternal co-equal person of the Godhead. He declared that the Father exalted His human Son. Paul wrote to Timothy: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). ONE Yahweh—not three. And the mediator is a MAN—not "God in flesh." John wrote: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son" (John 3:16). The Father GAVE His Son. You cannot give yourself. This language only makes sense if Yahshua is truly the Son—distinct from, subordinate to, and sent by the Father. These are not difficult concepts. A child can understand them. But 1700 years of Babylonian indoctrination has so clouded the minds of believers that they cannot see what Scripture plainly declares. They have been taught to read the Bible through the lens of Nicaea rather than reading Nicaea through the lens of the Bible. But in these last days, Yahweh is removing the scales. He is restoring the ancient truth. He is raising up a remnant who will proclaim without apology: Yahweh is ONE. Yahshua is His human Son—now Divine at the right hand of the Father. And this truth will bring Babylon to her knees. When Babylon finally falls—and Revelation 18 assures us she will—the world will realize that her fall was inevitable from the moment she embraced a false doctrine about the Messiah. The lie that formed her will be the truth that destroys her. And FHMI will be standing on that truth, proclaiming it boldly, when the smoke clears. YOUR CALLING: TO BE ISRAELITES, NOT BABYLONIANS This is why I am writing to you today. This is why I am sounding the alarm. You are not called to be part of Babylon. You are called to be Israelites—the covenant people of Yahweh, scattered among the nations but being gathered in these last days. The prophet Isaiah speaks of a "daughter of Babylon" who says, "I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children" (Isaiah 47:8). This describes a church that has protesting daughter churches—and she wants them back under her control. To accomplish this, she revives her unholy alliance with political power, just as she did with Constantine. But Yahweh has another people—a people who hear His voice: "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues" (Revelation 18:4). FHMI is answering that call. We are leading Israelites OUT of Babylon and INTO the authentic worship that Yahweh established from the beginning. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU As faithful partners and friends of First Harvest Ministries International, you must understand what you are part of. You are not just attending services. You are participating in a prophetic exodus. You are being restored to covenant relationship with the Yahweh of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob through His Son Yahshua. How could any of you give ONE DIME of YAHWEH's holy TITHE to any ministry that teaches the false position of Christ? When you support FHMI, you are supporting one of the few places on earth that is proclaiming the true nature of Yahshua the Messiah. What an eternal investment! Your tithes and offerings are not just maintaining a ministry— they are preserving truth that has been suppressed for 1700 years. They are funding the proclamation of the apostolic faith in a world drowning in Nicene deception. They are investing in the only message that will stand when Babylon falls. When you observe Passover instead of Easter, you are rejecting Constantine's decree that forced Christians to abandon biblical festivals. When you worship on the Sabbath or honor the Sabbath principle, you are declaring that Yahweh's calendar matters more than Constantine's Sunday mandate. When you speak the sacred name of Yahweh and call upon the name of Yahshua, you are refusing to let the traditions of men replace the truth of Scripture. When you embrace Torah as your standard of righteousness—not for salvation, but as the expression of a saved life—you are walking in the footsteps of the apostles, not the footsteps of Rome. When you reject the Trinity and proclaim that Yahweh is ONE and that Yahshua is His human Son—now Divine and exalted as our High Priest— you are standing with the martyrs who refused to bow to Nicaea's decree. This is not easy. This is not popular. But this is TRUTH. And in these last days, truth is the most valuable commodity on earth. A WORD TO THOSE STILL IN BABYLON Perhaps you are reading this letter and you have family members, friends, or former church associates still entangled in denominational Christianity. Perhaps they think you have gone astray by joining FHMI. Perhaps they accuse you of legalism or of joining a cult. Show them this letter. Show them the history of Nicaea. Show them that what we teach is not new invention—it is the restoration of ancient truth that was violently suppressed by political and religious powers. The Pope celebrates Nicaea as a triumph. We recognize it as a tragedy— the moment when the faith once delivered to the saints was captured by the Roman Empire and transformed into an institution of political control. But we also recognize it as a prophetic marker. What happened then reveals what is happening now. The call for unity under Rome's doctrines is not about restoring apostolic faith. It is about consolidating power for the final persecution of true believers. OUR MISSION CONTINUES As your apostolic overseer, I want you to know that FHMI will not compromise. We will not soften our message to gain acceptance from the religious establishment. We will not trade truth for popularity or clarity for inclusiveness. We are Israelites, not Babylonians. We are covenant-keepers, not tradition-followers. We are truth-speakers, not crowd-pleasers. And we will continue to sound the alarm, teach the Word faithfully, observe Yahweh's appointed times, honor His Torah, proclaim His name, and declare the full counsel of Yahweh without apology. The Council of Nicaea may have been 1700 years ago, but its legacy continues today in every church that prioritizes institutional unity over biblical truth. "Thus saith Yahweh, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls" (Jeremiah 6:16). This is our calling. This is our mission. This is why we exist. CONCLUSION: THE CHOICE BEFORE YOU Beloved, the choice before you is the same choice that faced believers in 325 AD. Will you conform to the doctrines enforced by political and religious power?
