Is All that DANCING IN CHURCH really necessary? Pastor Shane Vaughn Shane Vaughn ——— First Harvest Ministries International 1 every day in my email I get questions from all over the world people that watch our videos our teachings and today I got a question that I really didn't realize I had never taught on um it's dancing in church had a lady email me she loves our teaching she loves our ministry um but she does not understand the way we dance at burst Harvest Church in Waveland Mississippi and she was so sincere in her question and I got a question that maybe a lot more people do as well so I want to take a few minutes and explain to you why we believe that dancing is so very important there's not a service that go 2 goes by at our church all of the congregation does not dance together now I was not always a dancer uh my mother in the Lord sister Ruth hefin one of my mothers in the Lord turned me into a dancer so I was a lot like some of you now I did grow up we did what we would call shouting uh if the spirit took over and you felt his presence then people would respond Bond uh with a dance but at first harvest if you've noticed our dancing is more uh spontaneous it's more um organized it's more um a concerted effort instead of just in if it happens we make it happen and I know a lot of people don't 3 understand that and so if you'll give me a minute I'd like to explain it I believe if you'll listen to me with an open mind Open Bible that's what we're going to do right now we're going to open the Bible and I believe you know as well as I do that his word is true and you and me are a liar if we don't agree with what his word says so the first thing I'm going to ask you to do before you open your Bible is make that you could be wrong about this subject I was wrong and the word of God straightened me out okay so a lot of people don't believe you should dance in church and I get it I realize 4 the world has perverted dancing turned it into gy rual connotations so I totally get that but you know when Yahweh creates something originally Satan will always perverted but should that take away from the fact that it belonged to yah originally we are simply reclaiming what the church has given up all right here we go question number one I want to ask you a question I would like for you to fast forward with me in your mind to a day yua Jesus the planet Earth and this wicked world will all of a sudden be filled with the spirit of God there will be no more war there'll be no more psychiatric 5 house there'll be no more prisons filled with criminals but in one day when yua Returns the whole earth will be filled with the glory of God and then many of you and your loved ones will be resurrected from the dead you will awaken to eternal life and there will be the king of kings how do you think you're going to act on that day have you ever thought about it do you think you'll just get up out of the grave and you know y a little bit stretch and and uh just start looking around and uh see your loved ones and be like oh hey there how you doing you're good to see you buddy you doing all right 6 been sleeping good good good good good yeah oh hey how you doing yes nice to see you sir yes sir yeah it looks good the devil's been defeated or Wicked do you think do you think that's how you're going to act that day or do you think you're going to see the greatest day of Celebration that your mind can fathom do you think there might be some ex excitement and some music and some joy and and instead of hey how you doing like oh my Lord and you take off running and excited how do you think you will act on that day will there be Jubilation will there be Joy let's assume that you answer Joy 7 question number two what does Joy look like let me give you two facial expressions okay that's number one number two what does Joy look like like to you when I'm in a m uh you know in a meeting with people and I see them laughing I see them high fiving I see this euphoric feeling of joy joy carries with it certain signs to church to the Sabbath day meeting it is supposed to be the most joyous occasion of the week in fact the seventh day Sabbath is a shadow of things still to come to come the coming kingdom of God to planet Earth when does that happen on the 7,000th year and what is it that 8 represents that 7,000th year every week you guessed it the seventh day every seventh day the Saints of Israel the church We Gather to rehearse the great day of the Lord that is soon to come and when we come together it is literally to be a sign and a Wonder before the whole world of what that day is going to look like that's why at the beginning of our Sabbath Services we blow a shaffar why do we do that because we just want to do that no everything we do is on Pur purpose and a a prophetic utterance behind it we blow the chuar because what is going to trigger the day of the Lord the 9 Thousand-Year reign of Christ what's going to inaugurate that go read it in your Bible and this there will be the the arcan of the trumpet or the chaar so that's why we start every service with the blowing of that chaar now many of you right now have no problem with that part you're okay with blowing the chaar it's the next part that you have a problem with right after the trumpet sounds we sort of imagine and I'm going to prove it in the scripture in a moment that there's going to be joy and dancing I'm going to prove that that to you right after that trumpet sounds so at first Harvest 10 Ministries what do we do right after that trumpet sounds from the grave every week we do this as a reminder to our minds the king is still coming and we don't just come and preach about it we come and practice it literally we the the dead in Christ shall rise on that day correct so in our church we don't want anybody sitting unless they're handicapped or they sick or they can't move but the whole of the congregation Rises up out of their pews why it's time to practice for the resurrection and we come together just as if had just returned and we get into practice so with those questions behind 11 us I want to go to the Bible okay and let's look at the word of God because you might be saying well all that sounds good brother V but what do does the Bible say we're going to do anytime I look for truth I always look for it in two places the Old Testament and the New Testament that is called the law of the double witness if you cannot find your Doctrine in the Old Testament and the new it is an unbalanced teaching so immediately when I want to know the proper way to worship Yahweh I don't go to the New Testament why very because we have a God that never changes he's the same yesterday today 12 and forever so is it safe to assume that what he liked yet yesterday he still likes today and what he's going to like tomorrow he likes today is that fair if that's the case then I need to go back to the beginning to find out how Yahweh set up the nation of Israel the true worshippers the worshippers that he taught them how he wanted to be worshiped let go back to the Torah where all good Doctrine starts at and then we'll follow it all the way through the New Testament when we get into the Torah you're going to find out that any time Israel Came To Worship always came with dancing always and 13 music uh and loud music now if you you have a problem with that then you have a problem with Israel this Friday night wherever you are get on the at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem and watch they all come together every Shabbat and you will see the most dancing you have ever seen why that's the way Israel was taught to worship their God now happened when they came out of Egypt when they got in the wilderness with Moses they created a false god you remember the calf well we know by what happened at that worship service we get an in into how they worshiped their God now in this scenario it's the 14 wrong God but in their minds they were still worship sh shipping Yahweh the golden calf was not a false god in their mind as a matter of fact they told Moses or Aaron rather tomorrow is the Feast of Yahweh let us build an image unto him see at this point Moses had not yet taught them about graven images he was actually up on the mountain getting those instructions about no no great at this point they've not seen that correct so here they are they built a Graven image and they are worshiping Yahweh through that image so we're going to go and find out every mention of the word dancing and the 15 word dance and let's see what we can find today all right so just go it's real simple just type in the word dancing and we are GNA start on a journey here let's see here there we go all right the first mention of the word dancing is Exodus 32 and 19 as as soon as he came n unto the camp he saw the calf and the what the dancing this was a dancing people or else they would not have known to dance and but this was a holy day you may not realize this but this calf worship was being done on a holy day exactly right this was being done on a holy day so they thought they were worshiping Yahweh and to 16 them an ox represented Yahweh because the are strongest of the creatures Yahweh is the strongest so in their mind this was not idol worship this was Yahweh worship and what did they bring they brought dancing now let's look up the word dancing used in the Hebrew and let's get a clear understanding of what dancing is and what it's not okay so let's click here and we're going to scroll down to the word dancing and when we do we find the word Cola I believe it's actually pronounced meol Meola Meola so there's the word right there Meola okay now Meola has a root word right here and we're going to 17 check that root word out because when we check the roots out we get deeper understanding of how the word the atmology how it created itself from a root so let's go look at dancing it is is translated dance five times that word is translated dancing two times and Company one time it's real simple it just means dancing or dance now to find the deeper meaning you will see that mola is the feminine of this root word h 4234 let's go look at that root work to see if we can get into the mind of God in this use of the Hebrew word for dancing now this one it's almost the exact same word it's ma colle 18 it's where the other word come and it just means dance or dancing but now we start getting a little more meaning here around dance around dance if you come to First Harvest Ministries you're GNA find us doing that round dance where we join hands in a circle and we dance and dance and dance for up to an hour we dance and just have a joyful celebration so that is a little bit deeper meaning of what dance is but I would like to go to the root of mool and let's dig deeper when we do that we find the word cool which is where M Kole comes from let's find out what cool means and What mo Cole is 19 building off of and when we get there now we start seeing some other meanings come into play to twist to whirl around and around to dance to r r uh to fear to Tri tremble so this word this word dance has all of this in it a trembling you know and I see sometimes people get under the spirit of God it will tremble uh twist they will twist um they will travail as you keep going you're going to find out it also means to whirl about to whirl about so it's it's it's all moving everything is moving whirling uh it can look like you're in distress okay so as you keep looking here you will find the 20 depths of the meaning of this word and here's another one to fall grievously if you've ever seen anyone fall in the spirit well one of root meanings of this cool is to fall down as if you're in pain almost trembling so the these are just some of the meanings of these words and um this shows all the scriptures where these words are used matter of fact here in Micah 4 and10 and Psalms 96 and9 it's it means to turn or to turn around or to be twisted or turned or turned around so we see a lot of turning don't we in these meanings of Co now let's go see of cool see cool does not have a word why 21 cool is the Primitive root meaning that's that's the root that all the other words are coming out of so the meaning of cool is encapsulated in the offshoots of that word so now that we know what dancing means look at a few more scriptures and see if we can't tie it all together okay so let's go back to our list of scripture so that was the first mention of the word dancing the next one is 1st Samuel 18-6 came to pass as they came David was returning from the slaughter of the Philistines now this was a joyful celebration the women came out of all the cities of where Israel and what did those 22 women do this was a congregational meeting all the House of Israel has come out to celebrate Victory they come out doing two things singing and dancing to meet King Saul with tabrets or tambourines with joy and with instruments of music I asked you earlier what does Joy look like I have a Bible definition for what it looks like right there if you want to look at it these people were filled with joy and they brought dancing singing musical instruments and great joy that is what a meeting of the House of Israel is supposed to look like 1 Samuel let's make sure that that's the same word for 23 dancing there make sure the word hasn't changed 1 Samuel 18 and6 exact same word okay so we're good let's go now to the next scripture with dancing in it 1 Samuel 316 and when he had brought him down behold they were spread about on all the Earth eating and drinking and dancing because of the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines this is almost a picture of what it's going to be like like at the day of the Lord when we take the land from the Philistines or Satan and his Fallen Angels there will be eating and drinking and what else dancing so if you're planning on 24 being there and you're it says here you're going to be dancing have you ever honestly asked yourself what is your problem with it now I have found that most people that have a problem with it have no joy in their life and maybe that's something you need to deal with maybe you need to overcome a spirit of heaviness and experience the joy of the Lord and anytime you do you'll be a dancer let's go read the rest of the verses 2 Samuel 6:16 the more of these verses the whole picture starts to form what Israel does Israel is a dancing people 2 Samuel 6:16 and as the Ark of Yahweh came into the city 25 of David Michael Saul's daughter looked through a window and saw King David and dancing before the Lord and she despised him in her heart Michael his wife represents the church carnal he represents that Victorious Church the Church carnal will always look out the window at the dancers and almost despise them in their heart why they don't have that joy of the Lord that David has David was a dancer okay and Yahweh said he was a man after God's Own Heart let's keep reading 1 Chronicles 15:29 it came to pass as the Ark of the Covenant of Yahweh came to the city of David that Michael the daughter 26 of Saul looked out the window saw him dancing and playing his musical instruments his heart and she despised him in her heart don't let that be you where you're watching the people dance join in Psalms chapter 30 verse 11 you have turned my Mourning into dancing my sackcloth girded me with gladness so this is him the psalmist David telling Yahweh that Yahweh had turned him in to a dancer that's right Yahweh made David a Dan turned his mourning into dancing I'm fully convinced if you ever meet the president pres of Yahweh he'll turn you into a dancer as well now let's go to Luke the New 27 Testament 15 now his Elder son was in the field and as he came and Drew nigh to the house he heard music and dancing this is a parable about the Lost tribes of Israel and as those lost tribes of Israel that had been scattered among the G make their way back home to Jerusalem from Rome they were all out there with the pigs in Rome eating unclean living unclean but when they come home they'll hear a different sound it doesn't sound like song music it sound like the world it's got a different it's the sound of Israel's music he heard that that's how he knew he was home when you go to a Ministry 28 that introduces you to the joyful sound you have found home back to Israel all right now let's do something else let's just type dance and let's see what we find eight verses okay and see and behold judges 21:21 if the daughters of Shiloh came out to dance and dances then Come Ye out of the vineyard and catch you every man his wife the daughters of Shiloh and go to the land of Benjamin how would they know it was time to go back to the land of Benjamin if the daughters were dancing God loves dancing job 21 And1 they send forth their little one like a flock and their children dance now let's go 29 to one in Psalms 149 verse three in these verses lays out specifically how you and I the Israel of God is supposed to approach him for proper worship he lays it out how he wants it done and I'm not going to read all of it but I will read 149 and verse three let them Israel Praise Him Yahweh in the dance I have a question for you your opinion on Dancing just ran into a brick wall wall is the word of Yahweh you say I don't like but isn't that a selfish statement when did you matter his word said when you come don't come your way come my way with what dancing let them sing pray to him with music 30 Yahweh loves music I feel so sorry for the Church of Christ that teaches against the very things that Israel was known for let's go to Psalms 150 and verse4 Praise Him withing and the dance it's not an option it doesn't matter if that's what you do or not you are nothing you are the clay get your pride set it down and forget what you believe read what He commands and surrender quit being like that get rid of your hard head and surrender to the word you're not fighting me you're fighting your Bible praise him with stringed instruments and organs we have all of that in our church we're a bible 31 church we do it by the book so glad about it Ecclesiastes 3 and four there's a time to weep time to laugh there's the time to mourn the time to dance when you come to the celebration of the seventh day that's not the time to mourn or we that is a time of Celebration Joy now Isaiah 1321 that's really not relevant that's talking about the animal you can read that later Jeremiah 31:13 I want to click on that one this one's very important this is a prophecy of the day that you and I are living in a prophecy when Yahweh will redeem Israel that's what he's been doing for the last 2,000 years but 32 right before his coming it was promised that he would restore all the things Israel had lost let's read what going to be restored for Yahweh has redeemed Jacob Israel and ransomed him from the hand that was stronger than he therefore they shall come and sing in the heights of Sian listen carefully what will be the sign that you have been redeemed what will be your offering of Thanksgiving that you have been redeemed number one the heights of Mount Zion and sing and number two you shall flow together see that's what makes first Harvest Ministries so unique we flow to Mount Zion together if 33 you've ever come to any of our meetings you'll find no one is sitting back unless they're sick or elderly the whole congregation goes to Mount Zion together we we go we flow why we've been redeemed and We Know It glad about it and we're excited about it and they shall flow together why for the goodness of the Lord he's been so good to us we just want to join hands and flow together to the heights of Zion for wheat for wine and for oil he's given us all of this he gave us the wheat he's given us the wine he's given us the oil the anointing of the Holy Spirit the wheat the word of God the wine 34 the power of God we're drinking that new wine and we're thanking him for it for the young of the flock that sinks and of the herd and their soul who you and me Israel shall be as a watered garden and they shall not sorrow anymore that's why I tell you the Sabbath Gathering is not a place for sorrow it is Joy do you know people would rather go to church and cry than they would to get up and dance yep verse 13 then shall the Virgin rejoice in the dance that's how you know you have been redeemed when there's such an overlo in you that it brings you to dancing both the young men and the old 35 together for I will turn their mourning into joy and what does Joy look like and I will Comfort them and make them Rejoice their sorrows wow that's a prophecy for you and me Lamentations 5:15 the joy of our heart is ceased and our dance is turned into mourning that is the prophecy of a church the sign of a dead church that has lost their Joy is if you no longer see them dancing well I went through all the scriptures that I could concerning dancing now there are other scriptures that let us rain that uh that Joy will fill the Earth peace on Earth at last we already know from the Old Testament 36 and the new the prodal son what Joy looks like that's while we dance it's that simple we're H Happy People joy of the Lord is overflowing in our hearts and I want to
