Pastor Shane Vaughn Teaches "From The Beast To The Least" The Purpose of Your Life - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kil-jnu7zM Transcript: (00:00) [Music] story blocks audio I'd like to talk to you about the purpose of your life it's something that so few people understand one day when you figure out your purpose all of a sudden you'll know why you're waking up every day and what goal you're trying to reach before you leave this world every one of us are leaving this world there's no doubt about that but it's not when you're leaving the question is how are you leaving what are you leaving behind and what will your record be at the great Judgment Day when you will stand (00:48) face to face with yua Jesus our Messiah and the Bible says you'll give an account for Every Idle Word what does that mean for you personally why does it matter if the old understanding of the Christian faith that all we have to do is accept Christ in our heart and get saved if that's the case then what is the point of even knowing our purpose it seems that salvation is our purpose but as you begin to study the word of God more in depth you're going to find out that salvation is really not the purpose of your life (01:34) the purpose of your life is going to be discovered in this lesson that we're about to dive into and I really pray that you will study along with me I want to go to the book of Isaiah chapter 65 and verse 25 and when we get there we find an interesting scripture from the prophet Isaiah and it says in verse 24 it will come to pass that before they call I will answer and while they are yet speaking I will hear the wolf and the lamb will feed together and the lion will eat straw like The Oxen and dust will be the (02:19) Serpent's meat and they shall not hurt nor destroy and all my Holy Mountain saith Yahweh what a beautiful scripture and it sounds like Poetic language contained within that verse is the purpose of your life and if that doesn't make sense to you it will when we're done with this lesson today your life has a purpose this particular verse that Isaiah is saying that the lamb and the lion would lay down together and that the lion would eat o would eat uh straw just like The Oxen is a picture of the future there's coming a day called the (03:03) millennial reign of yua Jesus when he will establish his kingdom here on Earth and at that time even the animals will be at perfect peace the Bible said that the Beast the lion would become just like the lamb that's interesting in the Book of Daniel chapter 7 we read a story about world Empire we're not going to read it now but you can read it for yourself and it tells us that these World Empires would rise up after the Babylonian empire fell each Empire interestingly enough is depicted by an animal a beast some type (03:51) of ravenous creature and every one of these beasts that these Empires are represented by they're not what we would call Gentle Beast they're predatory the Beast the the ox I mean I'm sorry the lion I believe Babylon is represented by a winged lion Persia is represented by a grizzly bear Greece is represented by a ravenous leopard and Rome has a nameless beast but it's got teeth like iron and feet like iron ravenous animals represent the kingdoms of this world Nebuchadnezzar who was the King of Babylon in Daniel CH 4 verse 25 if you (04:47) want to turn there read it with me you're going to find some interesting scriptures Daniel 4: 25 we find out about Nebuchadnezzar who is the king of this world Empire Empire called Babylon let's read it Daniel 4:25 that they shall Drive thee from men and thy dwelling will be with the Beast of the field and they shall make you to eat grass like an oxen and they shall wet thee with the Dew of heaven and seven times shall pass over thee till thou know that the most high ruleth in the Kingdom of men and giveth it to whom (05:30) whomsoever he will now Nebuchadnezzar was an arrogant man a lot like a predatory animal and the Bible said that because of that arrogance God was going to send him to live out there with the animals you want to be an animal good I'll let you go live with those animals and instead of being a man of dignity and honor will let you go live with the Beast of the field that you are turning into and that is whenever we read that seven times would pass over him and he would eat grass Isaiah 40 and verse six tells us that all men all of God's creatures (06:22) that are not begotten Again by the spirit of God every one of them is like grass All Flesh is grass and that's Isaiah 40 and verse 6 but all flesh is grass now think about that the flesh Mankind in the picture that we're drawing is the grass of the field but the Beast of the field what do they do with the grass they consume the grass and that's what they do to mankind the kingdoms of this world would be the Beast that would consume the grass who is the grass mankind the Empire of Rome in 476 ad and then the religious Empire of the (07:15) Vatican they are called an animal with teeth of iron and feet of iron do you know why that is because every Beast that I've just told you about all operate with one thing in mind self-interest every Beast that we J the bear the leopard the the lion every one of them are predatory all they think about is who or what they're going to destroy next and that is the sad Legacy of the kingdoms of the world they'll start off as a small nation and then become an Empire by devouring everything in their path and the kingdoms of this world are just like (08:05) those animals however at the End of the Age we're told in Daniel 7:27 that Yahweh God is going to replace all of those beastly systems with something brand new something the world has never seen before right now in the whole world we're living among animals we're living among the beasts the kingdoms of this world is not like the kingdom of our God that is soon to come that Kingdom that is coming will be a kingdom of love and not self-interest it is proven by the fact that the king of that coming Kingdom his name is Yeshua the Messiah that King (08:57) came to Earth 2,000 years ago to give us a foresight of what his kingdom was going to be like you see his kingdom is not of this world or this arrangement of beasts animals predatory animals he said my kingdom is not of this world in other words there's an arrangement here in this world of Beastly governments beastly nature that runs through the whole earth and brothers and sisters the the animals that once represented kingdoms now represents mankind itself because mankind has become what the Bible calls brute Beast (09:47) self-interest all they care about is themselves they wake up every morning their agenda today is what how do I devour how do I I get ahead of those that are trying to get ahead of me how do I climb the corporate ladder and pull a few people down on my way so that I can get where they are but the kingdom of God that is coming is based on love it's characterized by love when you look at these predatory beasts and the Book of Daniel notice what they have they have eyes the Bible said in the front but their prey has eyes on the side why is (10:35) that because the Predators are always looking who they can destroy while the prey has eyes on their side trying to protect themselves from being destroyed I've given you the story of mankind since you were born as a little boy or little girl you have been taught the way of the Beast you have been taught accomplish this accomplish that reach the upper echelons of success go for the greatest height you can reach that is what you were taught all your life and if anybody gets in your way what do you do ah you become that (11:20) Predator you become that Beast that must make it to the top every day you wake up do you know the only thing that you're thinking about what am I going to eat today why you must survive you're an animal you must survive correct well you don't wake up thinking who can I feed today because you're a predator you don't wake up who can I lend a helping hand to today why that's against your nature that is against the beastly predatory nature that you were born with it's in your blood to be an animal is in your blood the only way that you can change (12:12) this nature of you first is you must be begotten Again by the spirit of God or by the Holy Spirit otherwise you will remain till the day you die a competitive animal all of your life will be spent trying to get ahead all your life will be spent waiting for your next victory in life the age to come the kingdom of God that is coming that it talks about in Revelations chapter 2 and verse six it's coming to change this the world it's coming to take that beastly Empires and Destroy them once and for all for 1,000 years (13:00) the kingdom of Yahweh will be established in a town near you there will be a representative a proxy of our King yua in your town and they will be there to do what to transform this world and restore it back to how it was in the Garden of Eden there was no predatory beast in the Garden of Eden they were eating grass they were eating the herbs they were eating the fruit of the vine they weren't killing and destroying one another Isaiah said that they'll never again kill or destroy in all my holy mountain or in all my holy government (13:49) now in the Old Testament I want to read to you in Exodus 23 and 29 what Yahweh said said about his people Israel Exodus 23 and 29 I will not drive them out before you in a single year that the land may not become desolate and the Beast of the field become too numerous for you I will drive them out before you little by little until you become fruitful and take possession of the land that's the way the Millennial reign as it was done in the Old Testament it will be repeated the millennial Reign when yua sets up (14:36) his kingdom here on Earth it will not be overnight that these predatory Beast Natures will be destroyed it will not the Bible said that the nations of this world will turn their weapons toward yua they will be so angry predatory beast but little by little just like he did did in the Old Testament he told his people you're going to take the land but you're not doing it in an instant no no no it's going to take time to drive that competitive mindset out of mankind it's going to take a while of them learning to be broken so that they (15:23) can become like the animal that represents the kingdom of God what represented the kingdoms of men the bear The Lion The Leopard and that unnamed animal with teeth of iron but do you know do you know the animal that represents the kingdom of God the lamb and until all of those other animals according to Isaiah lay down with the lamb now you know the meaning of that verse the lion will lay down with the lamb and that is why John the Revelator when he said I beheld I looked on Mount Zion and there was a lamb standing on the government of (16:20) Sion but he said wait a minute I looked and I didn't just see that lamb oh no no I saw 144,000 other Lambs on Mount Sion now do you know what the scripture means that the lion will have to come and lay down with the lamb it's because the nature of the Lamb who are those 144,000 oh beloved do you not know they are the ones that started out out in their life as a lion as a leopard running so fast trying to outrun their troubles outrun the law outrun running running never getting nowhere just running and then the bear (17:20) Destroyer all of those Lambs on Mount zon do you know that that was what they were they were those beasts of this world until what happened ah I tell you what happened until a man by the name of yua the Messiah was born of a young woman and came to this world and laid down his beastly nature that's right the Bible said yua had to learn how to obey he spent 30 Years Learning that oh if you don't believe what I'm telling you then while was he in the Garden of Gethsemane praying father I don't want to do this please that old nature was (18:13) still trying to make him a Survivor you must move out of your Survivor mentality you must move from the law of the Jungle then what is my alternative Pastor Von I've got a survive I'll tell you your alternative some men abide by the law of the Jungle do you know what that law is get or be gotten eat or be eaten That's the Law of the Jungle but one day you'll move into the law of Faith where you will say the Lord is my salvation Whom Shall I Fear my steps are ordered by the Lord I don't have have to stay in this jungle (19:02) anymore I don't have to be my own God no no no I can hide under the shadow of the almighty of the shepherd but if you choose to do that you're going to have to become a little weak sheep that's why the Bible said blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth did you hear what I just said all of these people that's coming to govern in the Millennium every single one of them have had to become the meek or they cannot inherit the earth the earth is their inheritance and they're coming to establish this new (19:43) kingdom of sheep they're bringing in a mentality that says you can trust in the Lord with all thine heart lean not to thine own understanding but in all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path you won't even have to wake up tomorrow wondering what am I going to eat no no no you'll wake up saying father I thank you that every meal is provided because you are my provider you will spend your entire life fighting this lamb spirit that will try to to take over you when you accept yua in your life and you're baptized in his (20:33) name and you receive his holy spirit guess what moves inside of you a little lamb a new way of thinking dependence obedience No Agenda except obedience now as that little lamb begins to grow in you it'll begin to pop out you'll work out your own salvation what's already in inside you'll begin to work it out you'll feel it coming out and all of a sudden you don't have that same mouth on you that you used to have to tell everybody off you don't have that same kneejerk reaction that animals have you don't have to have every woman in town like a (21:16) dog does why there is a lamb that is growing in you and he is destroying without even doing anything the Bear in you the leopard in you the lion in you that was born in your bloodline and you must learn one day that if you plan to be in the kingdom of God which is the purpose of your life the purpose of your life is not to die and go to heaven and live for all eternity with nothing to do that's called retirement and no one is retiring in the Lord's army no no no when you wake up at the first resurrection that's (22:05) when your job Begins for a thousand years you will be what you will be part of that lamb government and you will have become instead of accepting Christ as your savior before you know it you've turned into Christ you have become another lamb that's why we keep Passover every year because all the Lambs come back together every year all of them to present themselves once again with the Lamb on Mount Zion that is what your life is all about and one day whenever you finally understand that you can take those old animals that live in you and they will (22:50) surrender to the lamb Deuteronomy 28:26 it says that your carcass will be food to all the birds of the sky and to the Beast of the earth and there will be no one to frighten them away brothers and sisters all your life you have been food for other animals so much so that you became what you despised you be they ate you and now you eat them back they got you you get them back that's the old principle you want people to respect you but yet when you become a lamb you don't care if they respect you or not why no one respected (23:49) him come on now yua he didn't go around say oh you're going to respect me you're not going to do the problem we have in the Christian church everyone wants to accept a Christ that they refuse to become and in so doing you live a defeated life with no Authority with God only lambs have authority with God and one day one day you're liing your lion self is going to lay down and turn into a lamb it's happening to many of you as I speak to you it's been happening to me for a long time that is your destiny in life you (24:43) say what is my destiny to lay down and just let people walk over me no no no to lay down and trust that the shepherd will never let anyone walk over you to trust that vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord your Shepherd will get every wolf that ever tries to attack you and when you get to that place in your life it doesn't matter what people say about you it doesn't matter what people do to you why because you don't even recognize your old self the Apostle Paul said plainly that you have become like brute Beast or Mere Men You're you're (25:28) just among those beastly elements of the world Psalms 86 I'm sorry Psalms 8 and verse 6 it says you make Christ to rule over the works of your hands you have put all things under his feet all sheep and oxen and also the Beast of the field every beast of the field is going to come under the feet of yua the Messiah and his anointed which are his brothers the sons of God when you get this lamb nature all of a sudden the Ten Commandments become the 10 promises instead of you shall not steal all of a sudden because you're a lamb (26:21) you cannot steal you shall not that is a promise to you when you come into that lamb mentality it's no longer a command it's a promise because the lion steals the lamb doesn't the lion destroy the lion Bears F false witness on his neighbor the lamb does it but under the New Covenant you will not steal why your heart is being transformed by the infilling of the Holy Spirit how how do I know when I'm changing how do I know when I'm moving into that Destiny for my life listen to me you were born a lion but you have to die a (27:13) lamb and if you'll do that you'll come up a lion but it' be the right kind God wants you today to find the purpose of your life trusting in Him with all of thine heart lean not to your own understanding trust in me give up your agenda and surrender and he gave us some ways to do that here's how you know that you're changing there's a commandment it's the fourth Commandment it says remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy lions and bears and Grizzlies and leopards they don't like the Sabbath day you know why they like their (28:07) weekends they like to go fishing they like to go to their sports games they like to that's their weekend but when you become a lamb you give up what is yours as a sign to him that you're changing you're transforming all of a sudden the Commandments of God another one you're tithing do you know what all animals love they love their money they love to look at their bank account and see how it's growing how they're getting ahead but one day when you'll reach in and take the first part of that money and give it away to an invisible God invisible to (28:56) our eyes all of a sudden guess what's changing in you that I must be first mentality that's what the Sabbath is all about that's what the tithe do you think God needs your money no he needs to see the change in you by your actions when you give up your Sabbath day and make it holy the seventh day of the week which is Saturday not Sunday when you give up that day unto the Lord and you bring your families and get them dressed and bring them under the tutelage of the man of God and hit that reset button and stop your work guess what you just did (29:36) Ryan oh bear oh leopard you quit running you stopped and said him first in all things him first my finances when you give those away L Lions don't give anything away do you understand Lions give nothing they don't give anything away unless it's going to benefit them but when you become a tither when you become a Sabbath keeper that will begin the process of the change all of a sudden you don't care what you had planned today belongs to him you don't care what you had planned with that money if there's not enough after the 10th you (30:23) just have to make more why you're changing and then when you begin to do that next you'll find yourself beginning to help those in need all of a sudden you'll get more joy out of giving your money away than receiving it ladies and gentlemen Lions can't do that Lambs can why because they see a Shepherd over there that's going to feed them tomorrow they know it so their trust is in the Lord the purpose of your life is to learn to trust in the Lord to lean not to your own understanding that's going to be the destiny of your life many of you won't (31:08) make it to that and that's okay God's got a plan for you too it's just not going to be to rule and reign with Christ in his kingdom because the only ones that can rule with him in the future is those that have ruled themselves now the evidence of your future is in your present I want you to wake up tomorrow for a reason and I want you to look in the mirror every night and see a man or woman that is changing right before your very eyes all of a sudden you don't have to get back at nobody you don't have to gossip with (31:51) nobody animals gossip Lambs pray Lambs bring it to the Lord so today as I tell you goodbye never forget the purpose of your life is these words from a beast to the least do you understand now why yua said if any will be great among you he must first become the least here at first Harvest Ministries at our headquarters in Waveland Mississippi many people move here to live among us and to be among us and they're very surprised to find the greatest lesson we teach here is to become the least to become a servant to everyone (32:40) else here why do we teach that lesson first because that's the greatest of them all Lambs serve Beast don't so today I pray that you can go from being a beast to the very least thank you for watching

Summary

1. Introduction: Discovering the purpose of life (00:00–01:34) Vaughn opens by explaining that many people do not understand why they are alive. He teaches that discovering one's purpose provides a reason to wake up each morning and a goal to pursue throughout life. He emphasizes that everyone will eventually leave this world and face divine judgment. He refers to the biblical warning that people will give an account for their idle words. He questions the common assumption that accepting Christ and receiving salvation are the complete purpose of human existence. He introduces the lesson as an explanation of the deeper purpose for which humanity was created. 2. Isaiah 65:24–25: The peaceful kingdom (01:34–03:03) Vaughn begins his biblical exposition with Isaiah 65:24–25. He reads the prophecy describing Yahweh answering his people, the wolf and lamb feeding together, the lion eating straw, and the absence of destruction in Yahweh's holy mountain. He identifies this passage as containing the key to understanding the purpose of human life. He interprets the prophecy as a picture of the future millennial reign of Yeshua. He teaches that even the animals will exist in peace during this future kingdom. He introduces the transformation from predator to peaceful creature as the sermon's central analogy. 3. Daniel 7: The predatory kingdoms of the world (03:03–04:47) Vaughn turns to Daniel 7 and discusses the beasts representing world empires. He identifies the lion with Babylon, the bear with Persia, the leopard with Greece, and the fourth beast with Rome. He emphasizes that these animals are predatory rather than gentle. He interprets their characteristics as symbols of conquest, aggression, and the pursuit of power. He argues that the governments of this world have historically expanded through the destruction or domination of others. He contrasts their nature with the peaceful kingdom described by Isaiah. 4. Daniel 4:25: Nebuchadnezzar and the beast nature (04:47–06:22) Vaughn reads Daniel 4:25 concerning Nebuchadnezzar. He emphasizes that the Babylonian king would be driven from human society, live among animals, and eat grass. He connects this judgment with Nebuchadnezzar's arrogance. He teaches that pride and self-exaltation are characteristics of the beast nature. He uses the king's humiliation to illustrate the consequences of refusing divine authority. 5. Isaiah 40:6: Humanity as grass (06:22–08:05) Vaughn reads Isaiah 40:6, emphasizing that all flesh is grass. He develops an analogy in which humanity represents grass and the predatory empires represent beasts that consume it. He describes the kingdoms of the world as systems that seek to devour weaker peoples. He extends this interpretation to the Roman empire and the religious power he associates with the Vatican. These identifications are part of his prophetic interpretation. He argues that worldly empires are governed primarily by self-interest. 6. Daniel 7:27: The coming government of Yahweh (08:05–09:47) Vaughn refers to Daniel 7:27 and teaches that Yahweh will replace the beastly governments of the world. He describes the coming kingdom as a government founded upon love rather than competition. He identifies Yeshua as the king of this future kingdom. He quotes Messiah's statement that his kingdom is not of this world. He interprets that statement as a contrast between the nature of Yahweh's government and the predatory character of present worldly systems. He then extends the beast analogy from governments to individual human behavior. 7. The competitive nature of humanity (09:47–12:12) Vaughn argues that people are trained from childhood to compete for success. He describes the desire to accumulate wealth, gain status, and rise above others. He compares this mentality to the instincts of predators seeking prey. He asks why people ordinarily wake up thinking about their own survival rather than how they can help someone else. He teaches that selfish ambition is part of the untransformed nature. He argues that the Holy Spirit is necessary to replace this nature with a different way of living. 8. The kingdom's future work of restoration (12:12–13:49) Vaughn teaches that the coming kingdom will transform the world. He describes Yeshua establishing his government throughout the Earth. He envisions representatives of Messiah serving in towns and communities. He teaches that the kingdom will restore the world toward the peaceful conditions of Eden. He emphasizes that the future government will eliminate the destructive nature represented by predatory beasts. 9. Exodus 23:29–30: Transformation little by little (13:49–15:23) Vaughn reads Exodus 23:29–30. He emphasizes Yahweh's promise to drive out the inhabitants of the promised land gradually. He interprets this as a pattern for the future millennial kingdom. He argues that transforming the nations will require time. He teaches that selfishness, aggression, and resistance to divine government will not disappear instantly. He compares the gradual conquest of the land with the gradual replacement of the beast nature by the lamb nature. 10. Revelation 14:1: The Lamb and the 144,000 (15:23–17:20) Vaughn identifies the lamb as the animal representing the kingdom of Yahweh. He refers to John's vision of the Lamb standing on Mount Zion with 144,000. He interprets these individuals as people who have undergone the transformation from predatory behavior into the character of the Lamb. He teaches that the saints who will govern with Messiah must first abandon their selfish and competitive nature. He presents the 144,000 as an example of the character required for future kingdom responsibility. 11. Yeshua's example of surrender (17:20–19:02) Vaughn discusses Yeshua's obedience. He refers to the garden of Gethsemane and Messiah's willingness to submit to the Father's will. He presents this as the ultimate example of surrendering the desire for self-preservation. He argues that believers must abandon the law of the jungle. He contrasts survival through personal strength with dependence upon Yahweh. He teaches that genuine spiritual change requires surrendering personal control. 12. Matthew 5:5: The meek inherit the Earth (19:02–20:33) Vaughn quotes the promise that the meek will inherit the Earth. He connects meekness with the character of the Lamb. He teaches that the future rulers of the kingdom must first become meek. He uses Proverbs 3:5–6 to emphasize trusting Yahweh rather than relying on one's own understanding. He describes the transformed believer as someone who trusts Yahweh for daily provision. He teaches that this trust replaces anxiety, competition, and self-centered striving. 13. The growth of the lamb nature (20:33–22:05) Vaughn teaches that baptism and receiving the Holy Spirit begin the development of a new nature. He describes this new nature as a lamb growing within the believer. He refers to working out one's salvation as the outward expression of inward transformation. He identifies changes in speech, anger, sexual conduct, and relationships as evidence of spiritual growth. He teaches that the new nature progressively overcomes the old predatory impulses. He emphasizes that this transformation is necessary for participation in the coming kingdom. 14. The first resurrection and the government of the Lamb (22:05–22:50) Vaughn teaches that the first resurrection marks the beginning of the saints' future responsibilities. He rejects the idea that eternal life consists of inactivity. He describes the resurrected saints as members of the government of the Lamb. He connects the transformation into Messiah's character with the annual observance of Passover. He presents the ultimate purpose of the believer as becoming like the Lamb and serving with him. 15. Deuteronomy 28:26: The destructive cycle of retaliation (22:50–24:43) Vaughn reads Deuteronomy 28:26. He uses the imagery of carcasses becoming food for birds and beasts to describe the destructive relationships of the present world. He argues that people often become like those who have mistreated them. He describes the cycle of retaliation, revenge, and the demand for respect. He contrasts this with Yeshua's willingness to endure mistreatment. He teaches that becoming a lamb requires abandoning the need to retaliate. He emphasizes trusting Yahweh for protection and justice. 16. Psalm 8:6–8: Dominion under Messiah (24:43–26:21) Vaughn turns to Psalm 8:6–8. He emphasizes the language of dominion over the works of Yahweh's hands and the animals of the field. He interprets the passage as pointing toward the authority of Messiah and his anointed people. He teaches that the beastly nature of the world will ultimately come under the authority of Yeshua. He then transitions to the role of the Ten Commandments in the transformed believer's life. 17. The Ten Commandments as promises (26:21–27:13) Vaughn teaches that the commandments take on a new significance as the lamb nature develops. He argues that prohibitions against stealing and bearing false witness become expressions of the believer's changed desires. He describes this as the commandments becoming promises rather than merely external restrictions. He connects the transformation with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the new covenant. He teaches that genuine obedience flows from a changed heart and mind. 18. The Sabbath as evidence of transformation (27:13–28:56) Vaughn discusses the fourth commandment. He identifies the Sabbath as the seventh day of the week, Saturday. He teaches that observing the Sabbath requires surrendering personal preferences and recreational plans. He contrasts the self-centered person who insists on controlling the weekend with the transformed believer who dedicates the day to Yahweh. He presents Sabbath observance as a practical sign that divine priorities are replacing selfish priorities. 19. Tithing, generosity, and surrender (28:56–31:08) Vaughn identifies tithing as another test of spiritual transformation. He teaches that the natural person wants to accumulate and preserve wealth. He argues that giving a tenth of one's income demonstrates trust in Yahweh. He emphasizes that Yahweh does not need money but desires evidence of changed priorities. He connects tithing with the development of generosity toward people in need. He teaches that the transformed believer increasingly finds joy in giving rather than receiving. 20. Self-government and qualification for the kingdom (31:08–31:51) Vaughn teaches that not everyone will qualify to rule with Messiah. He argues that future rulership requires present self-government. He emphasizes that people must learn to control their speech, emotions, desires, and reactions. He encourages daily self-examination to determine whether spiritual transformation is occurring. He teaches that the evidence of future destiny is found in present conduct. 21. From the beast to the least (31:51–end) Vaughn concludes by emphasizing the difference between the beast and the lamb. He teaches that the beast retaliates and gossips, while the lamb prays and trusts Yahweh. He refers to Yeshua's teaching that those who desire greatness must become servants. He explains that the First Harvest Ministries community in Waveland, Mississippi, emphasizes serving others. He identifies becoming the least as the greatest lesson of the kingdom. He closes by encouraging believers to abandon the beast nature and become humble servants who reflect the character of the Lamb.

Pastor Shane Vaughn teaches that the true purpose of human life is to be transformed from a self-centered, competitive, predatory nature into the meek, obedient, trusting, and servant-hearted nature of Yeshua the Messiah. He presents this transformation as the central objective of the believer's earthly existence. In his teaching, receiving salvation is not the completion of divine purpose. Rather, the believer must undergo a continuing change of character that prepares him or her to participate in the future government of Yahweh's kingdom. Vaughn begins with Isaiah 65:24–25, which describes a future condition in which the wolf and lamb feed together, the lion eats straw, and creatures no longer hurt or destroy. He interprets this prophecy as more than a description of peaceful animals. He teaches that the change from predatory behavior to peaceful coexistence represents the transformation that must occur within humanity and its governments. In his interpretation, the peaceful animal kingdom illustrates the character of the coming millennial kingdom. He connects the imagery of Isaiah with the beasts of Daniel 7. He identifies Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome with predatory animals that symbolize the competitive, destructive, and self-interested character of earthly empires. He argues that worldly governments seek power through conquest, domination, and the consumption of weaker peoples. He contrasts these systems with Yahweh's coming kingdom, which he teaches will be governed by love rather than selfish ambition. Vaughn uses the account of Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 4:25 to illustrate the relationship between pride and beastlike behavior. He teaches that Nebuchadnezzar's humiliation among the animals demonstrated the spiritual consequences of arrogance. He interprets the king's experience as a warning that human beings who reject humility and divine authority become governed by the same instincts associated with predatory animals. He also uses Isaiah 40:6, which declares that all flesh is grass, to develop an analogy between humanity and the beasts that consume it. In his explanation, ordinary people represent the grass, while oppressive governments represent the beasts that devour the grass. He argues that this imagery reveals the destructive relationship between human ambition and worldly power. Vaughn teaches that Yahweh will replace the governments of this world with the kingdom described in Daniel 7:27. He identifies Yeshua as the king of this coming government and teaches that its defining characteristic will be love. He explains that Yeshua's kingdom is not of the present worldly arrangement because it operates according to a fundamentally different nature. Where worldly kingdoms seek domination, the kingdom of Yahweh will be characterized by humility, service, and righteousness. He teaches that the transformation of the world will occur progressively during the millennial reign. Drawing an analogy from Exodus 23:29–30, where Yahweh promises to drive out hostile inhabitants little by little, Vaughn argues that the removal of predatory human behavior will also require a process. He envisions the resurrected saints helping teach the nations to abandon competition, aggression, and selfishness in favor of the character of the Lamb. Vaughn identifies the Lamb as the defining symbol of Yahweh's kingdom. He contrasts the lion, bear, leopard, and other beasts with the meekness of Yeshua. He interprets the Lamb and the 144,000 standing on Mount Zion in Revelation 14:1 as a picture of people who have been transformed from their former predatory nature into the character of Messiah. In his understanding, the 144,000 represent individuals who have overcome their natural selfishness and become qualified to participate in the government of the Lamb. He teaches that Yeshua himself demonstrated the necessity of obedience and surrender. He refers to Messiah's struggle in the garden of Gethsemane as an example of submitting personal desires to the Father's will. Vaughn presents this surrender as the pattern believers must follow. His statements about Yeshua overcoming a beastlike nature are his theological interpretation and should not be treated as a direct claim made by the Gethsemane account. Vaughn contrasts the law of the jungle with the law of faith. He describes the law of the jungle as the instinct to survive through competition, self-defense, domination, and retaliation. The law of faith, by contrast, requires dependence upon Yahweh as provider and protector. He teaches that believers must surrender the desire to control every outcome and instead trust the heavenly Father. He uses Proverbs 3:5–6 to emphasize trusting Yahweh rather than relying exclusively upon personal understanding. He teaches that the new birth begins the development of what he calls the lamb nature within the believer. Through baptism and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, a different way of thinking begins to emerge. He describes this new nature as characterized by obedience, dependence, humility, compassion, and trust. As the new nature grows, he teaches that it progressively overcomes destructive speech, selfish ambition, sexual immorality, anger, and retaliation. He interprets the instruction to work out one's salvation as a process through which the character already developing within the believer becomes visible in outward conduct. He teaches that transformation must be demonstrated through everyday choices rather than remaining an inward profession of faith. The believer's speech, treatment of others, priorities, and willingness to surrender personal desires reveal whether the lamb nature is growing. Vaughn places particular emphasis on the Ten Commandments. He teaches that, under the new covenant, the commandments become more than external prohibitions. As the Holy Spirit transforms the believer, obedience becomes an expression of the new nature. He describes the commandments as becoming promises because a person increasingly governed by the character of the Lamb no longer desires to steal, lie, or harm others. He identifies Sabbath observance as a practical test of transformation. He teaches that keeping the seventh-day Sabbath requires believers to surrender their personal schedules, recreational desires, and ordinary work in order to honor Yahweh. In his understanding, choosing Yahweh's time over personal preference demonstrates movement away from self-centered living. He also identifies tithing as evidence of spiritual change. He teaches that the natural person seeks to accumulate wealth and preserve financial control, while the transformed believer learns to give and trust Yahweh for future provision. He argues that Yahweh does not require money because of divine need, but that the act of giving reveals the believer's willingness to surrender self-interest. He connects tithing with the development of generosity toward people in need. Vaughn teaches that only those who learn to govern themselves in the present life will be qualified to govern with Messiah in the future. He associates the first resurrection with the beginning of the saints' work in the millennial kingdom. He argues that believers who remain dominated by pride, selfishness, and rebellion are not prepared to exercise authority over others. He summarizes this principle by teaching that the evidence of a person's future destiny is found in present conduct. His final doctrinal emphasis is servant leadership. He teaches that true greatness in Yahweh's kingdom requires becoming the least and serving others. He applies this principle to the community of First Harvest Ministries, where he says members are taught to place others before themselves. He concludes that the purpose of life is to move from being a beast governed by self-interest to becoming the least through humility, service, and the character of the Lamb.
