Transcript:
(00:01) Amen. I want to remind you that in the morning I'll be in revival in Greenville, Texas. If you're within a 100 miles, do whatever it takes to come and be in the presence of the Lord. I'll be preaching the word of God, praying for the sick, ministering through the ministry of the gifts of the spirit. We invite you to come.
(00:20) I promise you there will be no charlatan acts for money. I promise you there will be no gimmicks of the gospel but simply the word of God in power and demonstration. I want to talk to you this morning that are watching my me by this broadcast about some words that Jesus said. And these are probably some of the most horrible words that he ever spoke in his ministry.
(00:46) And they're found in the book of Matthew 7 verse 23. He said, "Not everyone that says unto me, Lord, I believed, not everyone that says unto me, I heard brother Graham on the television, the great man of God that he is, and I accepted you as my Lord." He said, ' There'll be many that will come to me on that day, and they will say, I started off running the race, and I called you, Lord.
(01:23) I I believed that you were the son of God. But he said, not every one of those people will enter into the kingdom of heaven. Only one group is going to make it in. And and and I understand that this is not good TV preaching. I get that. But it's the gospel and I'm reaching for a generation. It is my mandate from God to reach a generation that has been deceived by the modern version of Christianity.
(01:58) God said in the book of Revelation 12 that Satan has deceived the whole world. And I don't want you to be in that number. God said there's one group of people that will enter in to the kingdom of God. And he said it's those that do what I said do. He said, "I didn't ever tell you to just believe on me. I told you to follow me.
(02:26) Take up the cross, which is the shame of the gospel, and follow me. Mimic me. Be just like me." He said, "Those people will enter in." And they said, "Lord, we prophesied in your name. We laid hands on the sick." But Jesus said, "But depart from me, you that work iniquity." That word iniquity is interesting. If you look it up in its original manuscript, the word there is the word lawlessness.
(03:00) You had grace and you believed in the grace of God, but you forsook the laws of God. You forsook righteousness and sanctification and holiness unto the Lord. That group of Christians is in for a rude awakening. I want to speak to somebody watching me today. Jesus Christ did not save you to keep you in your sin. He saved you to give you power over those things that are besetting you.
(03:30) I'm watching somebody. You're watching me and I'm looking at you and you love the Lord with all your heart, but you are bound by pornography. You are bound by alcohol and prescription drugs. You are bound and you keep going to a dead church that tells you that you're fine the way you are, that God accepts you just as you are.
(03:55) There is a difference in God accepting you as you are and keeping you as you are. I'm telling you now by the sound of my voice, there is help for you. You that are broken, you that have struggled, you that have tried, you've went to AA, you've took the 12 steps, you've done everything in your power, and yet you're a powerless Christian.
(04:16) You need the Holy Ghost. What you need is the infusion of the mind of God that will come into your body and give you more than a confession, but it will give you a possession of power. Everybody wants power. Look on television. Every preacher wants power cuz power draws crowds. Power to be able to look at you and tell you your address.
(04:43) Power to be able to be like brother William Brandom or AA Allen. Everybody wants power. But there is a power that you need that goes well beyond the showmanship of the church. You need a change in your life. God is calling you today to Mount Zion. You see, I'll tell you now, we're living in a church world. We're on television and all around the world, you're being told that Mount Calvary did it all.
(05:15) The church is bringing you to Mount Calvary. And thank God they are. But I want you to hear this preacher. Mount Calvary is not the end goal. Mount Calvary is the beginning goal. And when you come to Mount Calvary, it is to receive payment for a past debt. Not a future debt, but a past debt.
(05:44) Paul said these words that we have been redeemed by the blood for sins that are passed. Now when you come to Calvary, your next step is the upper room where you receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost. And in that baptism, it's not to give you tongues. It's not to give you power to heal the sick. That comes on accident.
(06:10) That's a byproduct of the power of God. But the purpose of the Holy Ghost is to give you power over sin. And if you're bound today, look me in the eye. So was I. I was bound by the degradation of sin. I was bound by the uttermost hold of sin. But I want you to know there came a day when somebody looked me in the eye and told me the truth.
(06:36) And they said, "Shane von, you cannot make heaven with sin in your life." I could out preach anybody. I could sing. I could I had it all, but I didn't have power over sin. God is calling you to the next mountain in your walk with God. What mountain is that? I'll read it to you. Revelation 14 and verse 11. And I looked and lo a lamb stood on Mount Zion.
(07:07) and with him was 144,000 having their father's name written in their minds, their forehead. See, there had been a change in their thinking. There had been a change in their mind. They were not hearers of the gospel, but they were converted. They were changed by the power of the Holy Ghost. The reason Jesus died for your sins is he knew that in yourself you could not live for God.
(07:37) There's no man living that has power over sin. Sin has power over every man. But there was one man that sin did not have power over and it was the Lord Jesus Christ. Perfect in all of his ways. He learned obedience through the things he suffered. And the reason he did that is not to give you an excuse not to do it because he did it.
(08:00) I I don't understand this mindset in the church. Well, Jesus was holy and Jesus lived the laws of God and I just believe on him and I don't have to do it. You understand? You can't help stupid. That you just can't help stupid and there's nothing I can do about that. But I want to tell you that Jesus lived a holy life for one reason.
(08:22) so that you would mimic him and become like him. And then he saw you couldn't do it on your own. So he went to the father. He transcended and came back to live inside of the believer. And guess what my friend? Paul said, "It's no longer I that lived, but Christ that lives in me." And if Christ is living in you, how do you think he's living? The way he lived on the earth, holy.
(08:56) And he said to you, "Be ye holy even as I am holy." I'm challenging somebody today. Mount Calvary. Thank God for it. We've written a million songs. But these 144,000 overcomers, they were on another mountain. They were on the conquered mountain. this program. Zion's call is a call to conquer.
(09:18) It is a call to go from Mount Calvary to Mount Zion. The Bible said to run with patience this race that is so that is set before you. Paul said, "Let us lay aside every sin, every addiction, every stronghold that keeps getting us off course." I want to challenge you today. Become an overcomer. There's seven promises in the book of Revelation.
(09:45) I want to read them to you quickly. Revelations chapter 2 and verse 7. And I'll move out of the way. My time's almost gone. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the spirit says to the church. To him that overcomemeth will I give eternal life. That's a powerful scripture for those of you that believe you have it now.
(10:11) Are you an overcomer, brother Von? What is there to overcome? The devil? No. He was overcome by Jesus. Then what is there to overcome you? Self, carnality, rebellion against the laws of God, adultery, fornication, lie, cheat, steal, everything that violates the law of God. His holy Sabbath, his truth, the things that he loves.
(10:39) You must love what God loves to be an overcomer. What am I overcoming every day when you're hearing the strong voices of the world telling you that this is okay and there's no more sin, that there is no hell and no heaven. You've got to overcome all of that. It's a daily struggle. If I told you for one second that the journey from Calvary to Zion is easy, I would be a liar.
(11:05) It's the hardest journey you will ever take. But in the midst of the struggle, there will be a helper with you. And he will speak into your spirit, into your mind. He is your mind. The Holy Ghost is your new mind. And he's talking to you. He's walking with you. He's telling you, "Come on, you can do it. You can go one more step. You can make it if only you try.
(11:30) " The next verse, the second promise, he that overcomemeth will not endure the second death. It doesn't say he that believed. It said he that overcome. The whole world believes. Our president believes. Everybody believes. James said even the devil believes. Everybody believes in a creator God except for the fool.
(11:57) But how many are leaving the belief of Mount Calvary? How many will quit bathing in the blood long enough to apply the blood and become the blood? The blood is the life of Christ. You must become the blood. The life of Christ. And it must live in you and give you power to tell those people in your lives that are no good for you, I'm done with it. I can't. I'm moving on.
(12:21) You want to know why you're defeated? Because you're powerless. You're condemned because of sin. I love you. is the only reason I preach this to you. Here's another promise. He that overcomemeth and keeps my work until the end. To him will I give power over the nations. I don't have time to go there. There's seven more promises.
(12:42) I don't have time. Read them for yourself. Only to those that went from Mount Calvary to Mount Zion. It's a long journey, but you can make it. I know you can. Why? Because he made it. And he lives in you. If he doesn't live in you today, I call I encourage you right now to make him lord of your life.
(13:04) Not just savior but master. Submit to his discipline. Learn his holy word. Find you a church that does more than preach on social gospel. Find a church that does more that makes you feel better about yourself. Find a church that makes you feel horrible about yourself and wonderful about the new self, the one that's supposed to be growing inside of you.
(13:26) God loves you so much that he sent his son to die. Don't trample on that blood by living in sin. Christian, you're greater than that. There's a power that lives in you. And in that holy lifestyle, you'll have power over every sick disease, over everybody. You want the power of God. Get the life of God. William Brandham walked in the power of God.
(13:48) These men that walked in that power, it's because they were sold out to the work of God. You cannot be an illegal citizen in the kingdom of God coming in the back door wanting the benefits without obeying the law. You can't come in the back door and want the hospital and the schools and the blessings without submitting to the law of God. He wants you to walk holy.
(14:10) I want to pray for you right now. If you're sick in your body, if you need healing, I love you. I'll see you next Saturday. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray for that lady that's watching me right now that you'll do a miracle in her life and for everyone else in the name of Jesus. I believe that God hears the prayer of a righteous man.
(14:31) If you're sick in your body, I can't do anything for you. But I promise you, the Bible said, "C confess your sin and he will be faithful to forgive you. You can rise. You can go to Mount Zion. Calvary is wonderful. Come hear Zion's call. Zion is calling you. Come up higher. Walk closer with God. Watch us next Saturday. God bless [Music] you. Heat. Heat.
