Not really. Let me explain to you. Let's say that you work for a company and management of that company makes a rule or a law and it says, "Only people with brown hair get to take part in 401k benefits. (00:39) Only people with brown hair." And they send this notice to all the employees and everyone understands it. They may not like it, but okay. Only people with brown hair can go to HR and sign up for 401k sharing benefits. And guess what? They do that for years. For a decade, two decades. Until one day somebody says, "You know, this violates >> [snorts] >> constitutional rights. (01:15) It violates the original law of the land." And suddenly they take it to court and the court looks at this and says to the company, "Hey, you can't do this. It violates the law." And everyone else says, "But that's the way we've done it for years." But you see, the way you've done it for years was wrong. It violated the law. (01:45) The Voting Rights Act, basing districts upon races, yes, been done for years. Illegal the entire time. Ladies and gentlemen, when the court makes a ruling, the Supreme Court, they are testing the constitutionality of something. You can pass a law all day long and if it goes unchallenged, it will be enforced illegally for decades. (02:21) >> [snorts] >> Do you remember Roe v. Wade and how the Democrats went crazy when the court took away constitutional rights? No, no, no. No, no, no. There is nowhere in the Constitution that gives you a right to kill a child. Nowhere. Now, there was a law passed, Roe, that was an illegal law. And it said, "Yes, you can go kill your baby. (02:50) " But that law was illegal. And the moment a court determined it was unconstitutional, it didn't take away your rights. >> [snorts] >> It reestablished the law. So, the Voting Rights Act has not been eviscerated. It's been exposed.
