Shane Vaughn Teaches; What "Beginning" Is John 1:1 referring to? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6plhqv_XYyE (00:01) so here's a question does God Yahweh the almighty have a beginning that's something we need to talk about is there a point of beginning for Yahweh now the answer is resoundingly no why he's Eternal this ring represents eternity and you know why that is you cannot tell me where that ring starts you can't tell me where it ends it actually has no beginning no end and that's the reason we wear it it represents eternal love now oh I know I (00:41) know pagans wear them but they brush their teeth too get over it but here's the thing about it if God has no beginning if Yahweh is eternal then when you get to John 1 you're going to have to reexamine how you understand this chapter because it starts off with these words in the beginning the word was with God the Word was God now total that won't work because you just told me Yahweh has no beginning so how could John say that in (01:26) the beginning was the word and the Word was with God and the Word was God those two statements will not line up with theology not correct theology because Yahweh has no beginning so how do we make sense out of this because this actually should say in a beginning it should be the letter a rather than the word the it should say in a beginning why because there are many Beginnings many many many Beginnings uh we have the beginning of (02:03) the new world we have the beginning of the new creation we have the beginning of the Angelic creation we have the beginning of this the beginning of that so we have to first find out which beginning he's talking about and you know the Apostle Paul when he speaks about Adam and Eve he tells us in the beginning it was not so Yeshua says about marriage and divorce that in the beginning there's many references Paul (02:33) makes and Yeshua makes to the beginning and they are not speaking of some place in a preexistent eternity past they are specifically speaking of the beginning as known in Genesis 1 and 2 and I say one and two on purpose because between one and one and one and two is possibly billions of years but there is a specific beginning that y yakan John is speaking about in verse one he tells us that in a beginning was a word was the (03:18) word now when you and I go into meetings especially me coming from the Pentecostal background and we hear a prophetic decree we believe they're saying the word went forth a prophecy went forth a declaration went forth the word went forth John is saying in a beginning what beginning the beginning of Genesis that's the beginning he's speaking about he is not speaking about an eternity past why because there's no beginning (03:56) there so when we try to use this verse for pre-existence of the man Yeshua that's the first hurdle we run into but rather we're talking about Genesis the beginning of all material Tim related things and indeed there was a word in the beginning the first word or the first prophetic utterance out of yahweh's mouth is found in Genesis 3:15 and that was at the beginning he says in Genesis 3:15 he talks about a son or a seed son that was (04:41) going to come forth and deliver men from Death this was a word in the beginning this word or this plan was spoken by Yahweh now what's interesting here is the word word is a Greek word logos now the problem with logos is it's a Greek word and the writer of this book is Hebrew he thinks like a Hebrew quacks like a Hebrew walks like a Hebrew he's probably a Hebrew he grew up in a Hebrew home he understood the Torah from a (05:24) Hebrew mindset and in his comprehension he would have used a Hebrew word darar however for him to write the word darar which means the plan of Yahweh if for him to write that in Greek there's only one word that comes close to it and it is the word logos but logos is a pagan word and it comes from Pagan Minds it it it literally speaks of theophany it's it's a it's a it's a bad word for a Hebrew concept but yet it's the only one in (06:07) Greek that comes close to the plan of Yahweh and actually the word logos one of the meanings of it is the plan so let's take it to the beginning and see that in the beginning Genesis 3:15 the plan was revealed it was spoken by God that plan existed in the mind of Yahweh Before Time began that plan existed in his mind what plan he saw the fall of Man he knew what Satan was going to do he planned Yeshua in his mind he (06:44) pre-existed with Yahweh in his thinking before Satan was ever created Yahweh had a plan oh that's right we know that to be the truth because the scripture tells us in the Book of Revelation that Yeshua was Cru crucified before Yahweh ever spanned the globe around Yeshua Jesus was already crucified now we know that he was not pre-existent crucified Before Time began but when Yahweh think something oh blessed be God (07:18) it's as good as done the next step is speaking it which he did in Genesis 3:15 in the beginning was the spoken plan or the spoken word and he spoke it it was done already because remember the word is simply a thought expressed yahweh's thoughts were alone with him before he spanned the globe around so yua already existed the crucifixion already happened the new creation which yua is the beginning of already existed all of this was (07:56) pre-existent in the mind of Yahweh in a beginning there was a word spoken it was the plan of Yahweh to bring forth the first of many Brethren to bring forth the Elohim the family of Yahweh in the beginning was the plan of Yahweh this plan was with Yahweh in his mind and this plan was yahweh's plan it was it's so simple to me that a child could understand it if they just tried verse two says that this plan was in the (08:34) beginning with Yahweh all things were done according to this plan that's why the Bible when it speaks about predestination and election it says that all things were predestined for this man yua everything was about the family of Yahweh Elohim the many sons but it all had to start with the seed son the one son it had to start with him verse number four in this plan was eternal life H absolutely and that life was the light (09:14) to mankind now that light shines in the darkness and the Darkness does not take a hold of it remember Yahweh created the Earth out of Darkness and brought forth the light that light is the foreshadowing of Yeshua and when did the lights get set in the firmament on the fourth day when did Yeshua come in the 4000th year if that's why there had to be seven days of creation because he's coming back in the 7,000th year from the dawning of this (09:52) particular beginning now we will not read all of these verses but I do want to go down to verse 14 according to this plan or according to this word this prophecy in Genesis 3:15 this prophetic word that existed in this beginning that came forth the first prophetic word that came forth from yahweh's mouth this word was manifest ested it was revealed it was made flesh finally it had already been thought of the crucifixion had already been thought of (10:37) but it had to wait for the fullness of time to catch up with eternity if you will and dwell Among Us who are flesh and we beheld his glory and it was the glory of the begotten son of the only father full of honor and truth it's this simple in Genesis 3:15 in the beginning in the beginning there was a plan that was spoken it was a word and it came forth it prophesied about a sied son and when the fullness of time caught up with that prophecy (11:16) that seed son was no longer a thought and he was no longer just a word he was the manifested word he was the revealed word that walked Among Us and and truly he did what it was prophesied that he would do hassatan Satan bruised his heel and he bruised Satan's head so it is important that you understand when reading John chap 1 what beginning is being referred to it's not a pre-existence it is the beginning as (11:52) found in Genesis the same one that Paul says when he speaks about how Adam was not the seed D but Eve was in the beginning yua speaks of marriage and he says from the beginning it was not so he's not speaking about eternity past he's speaking about when Yahweh created Adam and Eve in those primordial chapters of the Book of Genesis bless you and I pray that you will be blessed in your study of the word of the (12:22) almighty have a good day

Summary

This message teaches that the “beginning” of John 1 points back to the Genesis creation account and the first prophetic promise of redemption rather than to an eternal preexistence of Messiah as a separate person. Shane Vaughn explains that the Word is Yahweh’s divine plan, purpose, and prophecy that existed within His mind from the foundation of the world. That plan was spoken, revealed, and ultimately manifested in flesh through Yahshua, who fulfilled the promise of Genesis 3:15 and became the firstborn among many sons in Yahweh’s redemptive family.

Core doctrine

The “Word” of John 1 is Yahweh’s eternal redemptive plan and prophetic promise, first revealed in Genesis, which became flesh in Yahshua when the fullness of time arrived.
