Dedication
To the saints of Yahweh who love truth more than tradition, and
to every seeker who longs to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
May this witness stand as a light for generations yet unborn,
declaring that Yahshua was not born in the myths of Babylon,
but in the moedim of His Father. May the Light of Yahweh guide
you into covenant and freedom.
Chapter One
Introduction: A Question Worth Asking
For nearly two millennia, Christians across the world have gathered on
December 25th to celebrate the birth of Yahshua the Messiah. The imagery
is deeply embedded in our collective consciousness: snow-covered nativity
scenes, candlelit midnight services, and the peaceful refrain of “Silent Night”
echoing through sanctuaries. Yet beneath these cherished traditions lies a
historical question that deserves careful examination: Does Scripture actu-
ally place Yahshua’s birth in December? The answer, according to biblical
and historical evidence, is unequivocally no.
“Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein
there is no profit.” (Jeremiah 16:19)
This examination is not intended to diminish anyone’s sincere devotion,
but rather to invite believers into a deeper understanding of how tradition
and truth sometimes diverge—and what that might mean for our faith prac-
tice today.
The Historical Reality: December’s Pagan Heritage
Ancient Sun God Celebrations
December 25th was not chosen because of biblical evidence or divine rev-
elation. It was selected because this date already held profound religious
significance across the Roman Empire—but not for Christians. The winter
solstice period (December 21-25) marked the celebration of numerous sun
deities throughout the ancient world:
1. Mithra (Persian/Roman) - The unconquered sun god whose birthday was
celebrated on December 25th. Mithraism was particularly popular among
Roman soldiers and posed significant competition to early Christianity.
2. Sol Invictus (Roman) - Emperor Aurelian officially established Decem-
ber 25th as the “Birthday of the Unconquered Sun” in 274 CE, making it a
major Roman holiday decades before any Christian association.
3. Horus (Egyptian) - The falcon-headed sun god, celebrated during the
winter solstice as the renewal of solar power.
4. Dionysus (Greek) - The god of wine and fertility, whose winter birth
myths paralleled later Christian narratives.
5. Tammuz (Babylonian) - The shepherd god whose death and resurrection
cycle was celebrated during winter solstice festivals.
The Solar Connection
These weren’t coincidental overlaps. Ancient peoples understood the
winter solstice as the moment when light begins its victory over
darkness—when the sun, having reached its weakest point, starts its jour-
ney back to strength. This powerful metaphor of light conquering darkness
made the solstice period a natural time for celebrating the birth of divine
figures associated with light, truth, and salvation.
“December 25 was the birthday of the sun god long before it was ever
called the birthday of the Son of Yahweh.”
Historical Sidebar: Understanding the Ancient Calendar
Modern readers should understand that ancient peoples didn’t celebrate
the winter solstice on a single fixed day as we might imagine. The solstice
was observed as a season—typically spanning several days around the ac-
tual astronomical event. Different cultures marked various days within this
period:
• The Julian calendar, implemented by Julius Caesar in 46 BCE, gradual-
ly drifted from astronomical reality
• Ancient observances could shift across multiple dates as calendar sys-
tems evolved
• December 25th emerged as Rome’s preferred fixed date for solar cele-
brations
• This date became institutionalized under Emperor Aurelian’s Sol Invic-
tus decree
The crucial point: Regardless of specific calendar variations, the underlying
principle remained constant across cultures—this was the season dedicated
to celebrating the rebirth of solar deities during the year’s darkest period.
The Church’s Historical Compromise
Late Documentation
The first substantial Christian source explicitly connecting December 25th
to Yahshua’s birth is the Chronograph of 354 CE (also called the Calendar of
Filocalus), compiled more than three centuries after the Messiah’s ac-
tual birth. This document appears during a pivotal period when Christi-
anity was transitioning from a persecuted minority religion to the favored
faith of the Roman Empire.
Earlier Christian writings show no awareness of a December birth date.
The Gospels of Matthew and Luke provide birth narratives but include no
seasonal indicators that would suggest winter. In fact, Luke’s account of
shepherds keeping watch over their flocks by night (Luke 2:8) suggests a
time when weather permitted outdoor overnight shepherding—more likely
spring through fall in the Judean climate.
The Politics of Religious Syncretism
By the 4th century CE, the Roman Church faced a practical challenge: how
to convert a vast empire filled with people already deeply attached to their
winter solstice celebrations? The solution was brilliant from a missionary
standpoint but problematic from a theological one—simply redirect exist-
ing celebrations toward Christian purposes.
This wasn’t unique to Christmas. Many Christian holy days were strategi-
cally placed to coincide with established pagan festivals, making conversion
more appealing to potential converts who could maintain familiar seasonal
rhythms while adopting new religious meanings.
Constantine’s legalization of Christianity (313 CE) and later establishment
of Christianity as the empire’s official religion created both opportunity and
pressure for such accommodations.
To truly understand why early Christians were so willing to accept these
radical changes, we must first grasp the brutal persecution they endured in
the centuries before Constantine’s rise to power. The Christian community
had suffered through waves of systematic oppression that left deep scars on
the collective memory of the church.
The reign of Nero (54-68 CE) marked a particularly dark chapter in Chris-
tian history. After the Great Fire of Rome in 64 CE, Nero scapegoated the
Christian community, subjecting them to horrific public executions in the
amphitheaters where they were burned alive as human torches, crucified, or
thrown to wild beasts for the entertainment of Roman crowds. This persecu-
tion established a precedent that would echo through subsequent reigns.
The situation became even more complex as persecution created fractures
within Jewish communities. Some Jews, whether from fear, financial in-
centive, or genuine belief that Christians were heretics, began cooperat-
ing with Roman authorities in identifying believers. This betrayal by their
own people added another layer of anguish to an already desperate situa-
tion. It’s within this context of betrayal and persecution that we can under-
stand John’s harsh words in Revelation about “those who say they are Jews and
are not, but are a synagogue of Satan” (Revelation 2:9, 3:9)—likely referring to
those who collaborated with persecutors rather than standing with their
Christian brethren.
The persecution wasn’t limited to Nero’s reign. Under emperors like Domi-
tian, Trajan, Decius, and especially Diocletian, Christians faced recurring
waves of systematic oppression that lasted for nearly three centuries. Fami-
lies were torn apart, property was confiscated, and entire communities lived
in constant fear of denunciation.
Given this historical backdrop of relentless persecution, Constantine’s
Edict of Milan in 313 CE must have felt like nothing short of divine deliv-
erance. For the first time in the church’s history, Christians could worship
openly without fear of death. When Constantine not only legalized Christi-
anity but began actively promoting it, the relief was overwhelming.
It’s in this context that we can understand why church leaders were willing
to make certain compromises. When offered not just tolerance but imperial
favor, the temptation to accommodate pagan customs—especially those that
could be given Christian meaning—became almost irresistible.
The choice of December 25th, the integration of familiar festivals, and the
adoption of certain symbols weren’t necessarily acts of theological betrayal,
but rather pragmatic decisions made by a community that had endured cen-
turies of trauma and was desperate for both survival and growth.
This historical reality doesn’t excuse the theological implications of these
decisions, but it does help us understand the human factors that influenced
them. The early church’s willingness to accommodate existing religious tra-
ditions becomes more comprehensible when we remember that these were
people who had watched their loved ones die brutal deaths for their faith,
and who suddenly found themselves with an unprecedented opportunity to
practice their religion freely and even see it flourish.
Biblical Warning Against Such Practices
Scripture repeatedly warns Yahweh’s people against adopting the religious
practices of surrounding nations:
“Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for
the heathen are dismayed at them.” (Jeremiah 10:2)
“Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be
destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How
did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.” (Deuteronomy 12:30)
The pattern of Israel repeatedly falling into the worship practices of
neighboring peoples—particularly Baal worship associated with season-
al cycles—provides a sobering parallel to the church’s adoption of sol-
stice-based celebrations.
Why This Historical Reality Matters Today
The Question of Truth vs. Tradition
Some modern Christians respond to this historical evidence by asking,
“Does it really matter when we celebrate Yahshua’s birth? Can’t we honor Him on
any day we choose?”
This question deserves a thoughtful response. While Yahweh’s grace cer-
tainly covers sincere worship offered with pure hearts, the question touches
on several important principles:
Truth in Worship: Yahshua himself emphasized that Yahweh seeks wor-
shipers who will worship “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). If our celebra-
tions are built on historically inaccurate foundations, does this affect the
authenticity of our worship?
Teaching Accuracy: When we teach children and new believers that Yahsh-
ua was born on December 25th, we’re passing along information that con-
tradicts both biblical evidence and historical fact. What does this say about
our commitment to accuracy in religious instruction?
Spiritual Discernment: If we’re comfortable celebrating the Messiah’s birth
during a season originally dedicated to sun god worship, what other com-
promises might we be making unknowingly?
The Legacy We Leave
“They forsook Yahweh and served Baal and the Ashtaroth. And the anger of Yah-
weh was hot against Israel.” (Judges 2:13-14)
The book of Judges records a recurring cycle: Yahweh’s people would
adopt the religious practices of surrounding nations, leading them away
from pure worship of Yahweh. Each generation that embraced these foreign
practices made it easier for the next generation to drift further from truth.
When we continue celebrating Yahshua’s birth in December—despite
knowing its pagan origins—what message are we sending to our children
and grandchildren about the importance of historical accuracy and spiritual
purity?
“Tradition feels safe, but truth demands courage.”
A Call for Honest Examination
This isn’t about condemning anyone who has sincerely celebrated Christ-
mas. Most Christians have done so with pure hearts, genuinely desiring to
honor the Messiah. The issue is what we do when presented with historical
evidence that challenges our assumptions.
Do we:
• Dismiss the evidence to protect comfortable traditions?
• Acknowledge the facts but continue unchanged practices?
• Allow truth to transform our worship practices, even when it’s diffi-
cult?
The Path Forward: Embracing Biblical Truth
Acknowledging What Scripture Doesn’t Say
Before we can discover when Yahshua was born, we must honestly acknowl-
edge when He was not born:
• He was not born in winter. The biblical evidence suggests shepherds
were in the fields, which would be unlikely during Judea’s cold, rainy
winter season.
• He was not born at the winter solstice. This timing comes entirely
from pagan solar worship, not biblical revelation.
• He was not born on December 25th. This specific date has no scrip-
tural foundation and extensive pagan precedent. For me, this was
enough to know, I wanted nothing else to do with it.
Returning to Yahweh’s Calendar
Scripture suggests that Yahshua’s birth, like other significant events in
salvation history, occurred according to Yahweh’s appointed times (Hebrew:
moedim). These weren’t arbitrary dates but carefully orchestrated moments
that aligned with Yahweh’s redemptive calendar:
• Passover marked Yahshua’s sacrificial death
• Firstfruits marked His resurrection
• Pentecost marked the birth of the church
It’s reasonable to expect that His birth also aligned with one of Yahweh’s
appointed feasts, rather than a pagan sun festival.
The Call to Separation
“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye re-
ceive not of her plagues.” (Revelation 18:4)
This passage, while referring to end-times Babylon, establishes a principle
that echoes throughout Scripture: Yahweh’s people are called to separate
themselves from religious systems that blend truth with error.
This doesn’t mean withdrawing from the world, but it does mean carefully
examining our practices to ensure they align with biblical truth rather than
cultural convenience.
Conclusion: The Courage to Choose Truth
Discovering the pagan origins of December 25th can be unsettling for
Christians who have built precious family memories around Christmas cele-
brations. The nativity scenes, the carols, the midnight services—these aren’t
easily set aside.
Yet truth has a way of setting us free, even when that freedom initially
feels uncomfortable. When we choose accuracy over tradition, we’re follow-
ing in the footsteps of the Bereans, who “were more noble than those in Thessa-
lonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the
scriptures daily, whether those things were so” (Acts 17:11).
The question before us is not whether we can celebrate Yahshua’s birth—
of course we can and should honor the birth of our Savior. The question is
whether we’ll do so according to truth revealed in Scripture or according
to traditions inherited from paganism.
Yahshua was not born in December. Acknowledging this truth does open
the door to discovering when He was born—according to Yahweh’s perfect
timing, in Yahweh’s appointed season, as part of Yahweh’s redemptive cal-
endar.
The journey from tradition to truth requires courage, but it leads
to greater understanding of Yahweh’s perfect plan and timing. In
that discovery, we may find that Yahweh’s ways are indeed higher than our
ways—and far more beautiful than any tradition we might leave behind.
“Thy word is truth.” (John 17:17)

Chapter 2 – Paganism: The Counterfeit Circle
Two Circles, Two Systems: The Fundamental Division
From the beginning of recorded history, Scripture reveals a profound truth
that shapes all of human existence: mankind is divided into two distinct
groups with two completely different approaches to worship and time. Is-
rael represents those called out to follow Yahweh’s ordained patterns, while
the Gentiles represent those who have created their own systems of worship
and meaning.
This is not merely a cultural or ethnic distinction—it represents two
fundamentally opposed spiritual systems. Israel was given Yahweh’s
commandments, His Sabbaths, and His moedim (appointed times). The Gen-
tiles, lacking this divine revelation, constructed their own times, seasons,
and systems of worship based on human reasoning and demonic, fallen an-
gel influence.
Paganism, therefore, is not simply “another religion” among many op-
tions. It is something far more sinister: a counterfeit order—a parallel sys-
tem that runs in deliberate opposition to Yahweh’s divine plan. It represents
humanity’s attempt to create meaning and worship apart from divine revela-
tion.
The Visual Reality: Two Opposing Circles
Picture two massive circles spinning side by side, each representing a
complete worldview and way of life:
Yahweh’s Circle turns clockwise—representing divine order, natu-
ral rhythm, and harmony with creation as Yahweh designed it. This
circle moves in sync with the celestial patterns He established, following
the rhythm of His appointed times, and leading those within it toward life,
truth, and eternal fellowship with their Creator.
The Pagan Circle turns counterclockwise—representing spiritual
disorder, rebellion against divine authority, and the perversion of
Yahweh’s good creation. This circle moves in opposition to divine order,
creating confusion, leading people away from truth, and ultimately spiraling
toward spiritual death.
Both circles tell a story—they provide meaning, purpose, and identity to
those who follow them. Both offer explanations for the seasons, the purpose
of life, and human-
ity’s relationship to
the divine. But only
one leads to genuine
life and truth.
“See, I have set before
you this day life and
good, and death and
evil.” (Deuteronomy
30:15)
This choice between
two systems is not
a modern develop-
ment—it has existed
since the rebellion in Eden and will continue until Yahweh’s kingdom is
fully established.
Yahweh’s Circle: The Way of Light and Life
Divine Origins in Creation
From the very beginning, Yahweh ordained His own perfect circle of time
and worship. This was not an afterthought or a response to human need—it
was built into the fabric of creation itself:
“And Yahweh said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the
day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and
years.” (Genesis 1:14)
The Hebrew word translated “seasons” is mo’edim—literally meaning “ap-
pointed times” or “divine appointments.” These are not arbitrary human
traditions but cosmic appointments established by the Creator Himself.
The sun, moon, and stars were positioned specifically to mark these sacred
times, making all of creation a vast timepiece designed to remind humanity
of Yahweh’s redemptive calendar.
The Sacred Rhythm: Sabbath Foundation
At the heart of Yahweh’s circle lies the Sabbath—instituted not at Mount
Sinai, but at creation itself:
“And on the seventh day Yahweh ended his work which he had made; and he rested
on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And Yahweh blessed the
seventh day, and sanctified it.” (Genesis 2:2-3)
The Sabbath provides the foundational rhythm for all of Yahweh’s ap-
pointed times. It establishes the principle of sacred time—that certain mo-
ments are set apart as holy, different from ordinary time. Every seventh day
becomes a rehearsal for entering Yahweh’s rest, a weekly reminder that His
people are called to live according to His rhythm rather than the frantic
pace of the world system.
The Annual Rehearsals: Yahweh’s Feast Cycle
Beyond the weekly Sabbath, Yahweh established seven annual moedim that
tell the complete story of redemption:
Spring Festivals (The Death and Resurrection of the Messiah):
• Passover & Unleavened Bread The lamb slain for deliverance from
bondage and The putting away of sin and old ways
• Firstfruits - The resurrection guarantee of the full harvest
Late Spring:
• Pentecost - The giving of the Spirit and birth of the renewed covenant
community
Fall Festivals (The Second Coming and Kingdom Establishment):
• Trumpets (Yom Teruah) - The awakening call and gathering of the
faithful
• Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) - The final cleansing and judgment
• Tabernacles (Sukkot) - Yahweh dwelling with His people in the King-
dom
• Last Great Day (Shemeni Ashtaret) - All men given their fair chance to
hear the gospel
Each moed serves as a rehearsal of redemption. Together, they tell Yah-
weh’s complete story—from initial deliverance through final dwelling.
Those who follow Yahweh’s circle participate in these divine appoint-
ments, constantly rehearsing and remembering the great acts of salvation
history while looking forward to their ultimate fulfillment.
The Prophetic Calendar
Remarkably, the first four moedim were partially (not yet fully) fulfilled
with stunning precision in the life, death, and resurrection of Yahshua and
the birth of the early church:
• Passover - Yahshua died as the Passover Lamb as saved people from death.
He indeed fulfilled the death and soon will cause the death angel to pass
over us all in the glorious resurrection of the saints when He will finally ful-
fill this feast by drinking this cup with us in His Father’s kingdom.
• Unleavened Bread - His sinless body lay in the tomb during this feast
• Firstfruits - 8 Days after rising from the dead, He presented Himself to His
father in heaven after his 8 days of uncleaness from the grave. He was ac-
cepted as the Son on the 8th day, as the sheaf of the firstfruits.
• Pentecost - The Holy Spirit was poured out on the church on this appointed
day
This precise fulfillment demonstrates that Yahweh’s calendar is not merely
ceremonial but prophetic—each appointment pointing to specific aspects of
the Messiah’s work and the establishment of His kingdom.
The Pagan Circle: The Way of Darkness and Death
Satan’s Strategy: Counterfeiting Truth
Satan, being a created being, cannot truly create—he can only corrupt,
counterfeit, and pervert what Yahweh has already established. His strategy
has always been to offer humanity an alternative system that appears to
meet their spiritual needs while actually leading them away from truth.
Where Yahweh gave genuine feasts that rehearse redemption, paganism
created counterfeit holidays that rehearse lies. Each major pagan
celebration represents a twisted version of divine truth, designed to satisfy
human spiritual hunger while feeding people spiritual poison.
The Systematic Replacement
Examine how systematically Satan has worked to replace each element of
Yahweh’s circle:
Sabbath → Sunday Worship
• Yahweh’s seventh-day Sabbath commemorates creation and points to
eternal rest
• Sunday worship honors the “day of the sun” and promotes continuous
labor without true rest
Passover → Easter (Ishtar)
• Passover rehearses Yahweh’s deliverance through the blood of the lamb
• Easter celebrates fertility goddess worship with symbols of rabbits and
eggs
Tabernacles → Christmas (Saturnalia)
• Tabernacles celebrates Yahweh dwelling with His people in truth
• Christmas celebrates the birth of various sun gods during the darkest
time of year
Pre-Yom Kippur Preparation → Lent
• The biblical preparation involves genuine repentance before the Day of
Atonement
• Lent represents mourning for Tammuz and involves ritualistic but of-
ten empty religious observance
Pentecost → Various Harvest Festivals
• Pentecost celebrates the giving of Yahweh’s Spirit and Torah
• Pagan harvest festivals honor fertility deities and seasonal cycles
This pattern reveals Satan’s method: take the spiritual hunger that Yahweh
planted in human hearts and redirect it toward counterfeits that satisfy the
flesh while starving the spirit.
The Psychological Appeal
The pagan circle appeals to fallen human nature in specific ways:
• Sensual Gratification - Pagan holidays often involve excessive eating,
drinking, and entertainment
• Self-Centered Focus - They center on what people can get rather than
what they can give to Yahweh
• Cultural Conformity - They allow people to feel religious while remain-
ing acceptable to the world system
• Seasonal Convenience - They follow natural seasons rather than divine
appointments, seeming more “practical”
The Babylonian Root System
The Original Rebellion: Nimrod’s Kingdom
Every false holiday and counterfeit religious system can be traced back
to ancient Babylon and the rebellion initiated by Nimrod. Scripture identi-
fies Nimrod as “a mighty hunter before Yahweh” (Genesis 10:9)—a phrase that
in Hebrew suggests hunting in opposition to or in defiance of Yahweh rather
than in submission to Him.
Nimrod established the first organized system of opposition to Yahweh’s
authority. He built cities, created a unified human government independent
of divine rule, and ultimately led the Tower of Babel project—humanity’s
attempt to reach heaven through their own efforts rather than through sub-
mission to Yahweh.
The Babylonian Trinity: A Counterfeit Family
From Nimrod’s kingdom emerged the foundational mythology that would
spread throughout all pagan systems:
Nimrod - The defiant king who claimed divine authority and established
human government in opposition to Yahweh’s rule. After his death, he was
deified as the sun god, worshiped under various names (Baal, Marduk, Ra,
Apollo, etc.).
Semiramis - Nimrod’s wife, who claimed divine motherhood and positioned
herself as the “Queen of Heaven.” She established the worship of the divine
feminine principle and mother-goddess religion that would spread through-
out all cultures, primarily in Wicca and Witchcraft.
Tammuz - Their supposed son, whose death was mourned annually and
whose “resurrection” was celebrated each spring. This counterfeit death and
resurrection story became the template for all dying and rising god myths
throughout paganism.
The Spread of Babylonian Religion
From this Babylonian root, the same basic religious system spread
throughout the world as peoples were scattered at Babel. The names
changed, but the essential elements remained:
Egypt: Osiris, Isis, and Horus
Greece: Zeus, Hera, and various dying/rising gods
Rome: Jupiter, Venus, and adapted Greek myths
Northern Europe: Odin, Frigg, and seasonal death/rebirth cycles
Persia: Ahura Mazda and Mithra
India: Various triadic deities and resurrection myths
Each culture developed its own version of the same basic counterfeit,
proving that all false religion stems from the same Babylonian source.
Modern Manifestations: Babylon’s Holidays Today
Christmas: The Winter Solstice Deception
Christmas represents perhaps the most successful Babylonian infiltration
into Christianity. Everything associated with traditional Christmas celebra-
tion derives from pagan winter solstice worship:
• December 25th - Birthday of multiple sun gods (Mithra, Sol Invictus,
etc.)
• Christmas Trees - Sacred groves used in Druidic and Germanic pagan
worship
• Gift Giving - Roman Saturnalia traditions
• Santa Claus - Derived from Germanic/Norse mythology (Odin) mixed
with corrupted Christian legend
• Yule Logs - Druidic fire ceremonies for the return of the sun
The tragic irony is that believers celebrate the birth of the “Light of the
World” using symbols and timing taken directly from sun god worship.
Easter: The Spring Fertility Festival
Easter represents the wholesale adoption of goddess worship into Christian-
ity:
• The Name “Easter” - Derives from Ishtar/Astarte, ancient fertility god-
dess
• Rabbits and Eggs - Universal fertility symbols from goddess worship
• Hot Cross Buns - Sacred cakes offered to the “Queen of Heaven” (Jere-
miah 7:18)
• Sunrise Services - Direct continuation of sun worship practices
• Variable Dating - Follows lunar calculations used in pagan fertility
celebrations rather than biblical Passover timing
Halloween/All Saints Day: The Death Cult Connection
This holiday reveals the pagan circle’s obsession with death, fear, and com-
munication with spirits—practices explicitly forbidden in Scripture (Deuter-
onomy 18:10-12).
The Cumulative Effect
When believers participate in these holidays, they are not engaging in neu-
tral cultural activities. They are participating in the pagan circle—re-
hearsing Babylon’s story rather than Yahweh’s story. Each celebration
pulls them deeper into counterfeit religion, even if their conscious intention
is to honor Yahweh.
The Spiritual Warfare Dimension
Two Tables, Two Covenants
The Apostle Paul clearly identified this spiritual reality:
“You cannot drink the cup of Yahweh and the cup of devils; you cannot be partak-
ers of Yahweh’s table and of the table of devils.” (1 Corinthians 10:21)
This is not merely about external activities—it represents two completely
different covenant systems. Yahweh’s table represents fellowship with Him
through His appointed means. The devils’ table represents fellowship with
demonic powers through pagan practices, even when those practices have
been given Christian names.
The Prophetic Warning
Scripture repeatedly warns that in the last days, the Babylonian system
will achieve unprecedented influence:
“Babylon the Great, the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth.” (Revela-
tion 17:5)
The “mother of harlots” represents the source system from which all false
religion springs. In the end times, this system will seduce even many believ-
ers, causing them to commit spiritual adultery by mixing Yahweh’s truth
with Babylonian practices.
The Contemporary Choice: Which Circle Are You Rehearsing?
The Daily Decision
Every believer faces this choice not just once, but continuously. Each
week, you decide whether to honor Yahweh’s Sabbath or follow the
world’s Sunday system. Each year, you decide whether to participate in
Yahweh’s appointed feasts or Babylon’s counterfeit holidays.
These are not minor lifestyle preferences—they represent fundamental
questions about spiritual authority:
• Who determines sacred time—Yahweh or human tradition?
• Which story will you rehearse—redemption or rebellion?
• Which circle will guide your family’s spiritual formation?
The Impossibility of Neutrality
Modern believers often attempt to find middle ground: “Can’t we just focus
on our hearts and ignore the external practices?” But Scripture reveals that this
supposed neutrality is impossible:
“If Yahweh be Elohim, follow Him; but if Baal, then follow him.” (1 Kings 18:21)
Elijah’s challenge to Israel reveals that attempting to serve both systems
ultimately means serving neither faithfully. The pagan circle and Yahweh’s
circle turn in opposite directions—you cannot walk in both simultaneously.
The Generational Impact
The circle you choose affects not just your own spiritual life but the spir-
itual inheritance you leave your children and grandchildren. Children learn
to see time, seasons, and spiritual meaning through the lens of whichever
circle their families follow.
Those raised in Yahweh’s circle learn to see history as His story, time
as His gift, and the calendar as His prophetic outline. Those raised in
the pagan circle learn to see seasons as natural cycles, holidays as cultural
traditions, and spiritual meaning as human creation.
The Path Forward: Returning to Yahweh’s Circle
Recognition and Repentance
The first step toward freedom is honest recognition of how deeply the pa-
gan circle has influenced even sincere believers. This requires:
• Acknowledging that most “Christian” holidays are actually Christian-
ized pagan celebrations
• Repenting of participation in Babylonian practices, even when done
with good intentions
• Choosing to orient your family’s life around Yahweh’s calendar rather
than the world’s calendar
Practical Transition
Moving from the pagan circle to Yahweh’s circle requires practical chang-
es:
• Weekly Rhythm: Begin observing Yahweh’s Sabbath from Friday evening
to Saturday evening
• Annual Calendar: Replace pagan holidays with biblical feasts and ap-
pointed times
• Educational Focus: Teach children the biblical meaning of time and sea-
sons
• Community Fellowship: Connect with others who are also returning to
Yahweh’s ways. First Harvest Ministries Intl is a close community of re-
turning Israelites with an established government and a focus on training
for reigning and schooling for ruling.
The Promise of Restoration
Yahweh promises blessing to those who return to His appointed ways:
“If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy
day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of Yahweh, honourable; and shalt hon-
our him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking
thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in Yahweh; and I will cause thee to
ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy
father: for the mouth of Yahweh hath spoken it.” (Isaiah 58:13-14)
Conclusion: The Eternal Consequences of Our Choice
The choice between these two circles is ultimately the choice between two
eternal destinies. The pagan circle, despite its temporary pleasures and cul-
tural acceptance, leads to spiritual Babylon and eternal loss of your right to
the dominion mandate, your position in the governing bride of Yahshua in
the glorious coming Kingdom of Yahweh.
Yahweh’s circle, though it may require sacrifice and separation from
worldly traditions, leads to the closest and most intimate eternal fellowship
with Him in His kingdom.
The question facing every believer is deceptively simple but eternally sig-
nificant: Which circle are you rehearsing?
• Will you follow Yahweh’s appointed times—His Sabbath, His feasts,
His moedim?
• Or will you continue in the circle of Babylon—Christmas, Easter, Lent,
and Sunday worship?
You cannot walk in both circles simultaneously. One turns toward light,
life, and truth; the other spirals into darkness, death, and deception. One
rehearses redemption; the other rehearses rebellion. One leads to
covenant relationship with Yahweh; the other leads to the great judgment
where there is weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth under the divine
rod of correction.
The choice is yours, but the consequences are eternal. Choose carefully,
for you are not just choosing for yourself—you are choosing the spiritual
inheritance you will leave for generations to come.
“Choose you this day whom ye will serve... but as for me and my house, we will
serve Yahweh.” (Joshua 24:15)
Chapter 3 – The Story You Were Never Supposed to Know
The Battle of Two Narratives
In the previous chapter we have shown you how throughout human his-
tory, two competing stories have vied for the hearts and minds of humanity.
One story is true, ordained by Yahweh from the foundation of the world, and
rehearsed through His appointed times (moedim). The other is a masterful
counterfeit, designed to appear similar enough to the truth to be believable,
yet different enough to lead people away from genuine salvation.
As we begin to dive deeper lets remember this basic fundamental truth.
Every year, Yahweh’s people are called to rehearse His story through His
divine appointments: Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Pentecost,
Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles, and the Last Great Day. Together,
these feasts tell the complete Gospel—from deliverance out of bondage,
through sanctification and the giving of the Spirit, to the final establishment
of Yahweh’s kingdom on earth.
But running parallel to this divine narrative is another story—a counter-
feit tale that began in ancient Babylon and has since deceived the nations.
This false gospel has crept so thoroughly into the church that most believers
unknowingly rehearse it every year through holidays they assume are Chris-
tian.
This is the story the enemy never wanted you to discover. This is the hidden
history that exposes the true spiritual significance of the world’s most be-
loved celebrations. Now, I want to give more insight to the character I intro-
duced you to in Chapter One, Nimrod. Let’s get a true understanding of his
role in this ancient story.
The Original Rebellion: Nimrod the Mighty Hunter
The First Dictator
Genesis 10:8-12 introduces us to a figure whose influence on human civ-
ilization cannot be overstated: Nimrod, described as “a mighty hunter before
Yahweh.”
The Hebrew phrase lifnei Yahweh can be translated as “before Yahweh” in
the sense of opposition or defiance, rather than submission. Ancient rabbin-
ical sources consistently interpret this phrase to mean that Nimrod was a
hunter against Yahweh—not merely a skilled hunter of animals, but a “hunt-
er of men” who sought to capture human souls and turn them away from
their Creator.
Nimrod was the grandson of Ham and great-grandson of Noah. Born into
a world that still remembered the flood and Yahweh’s judgment, he chose
the path of rebellion rather than submission. He became history’s first dicta-
tor, the original “strong man” who sought to unite humanity under his rule
rather than under Yahweh’s authority.
The Builder of Babel
Nimrod’s greatest act of defiance was the construction of Babel—literally
“gateway to god”—but not to the true Elohim. The Tower of Babel represent-
ed humanity’s attempt to:
• Reach heaven through human effort rather than divine grace
• Make a name for themselves rather than honor Yahweh’s name
• Unify humanity under human government rather than submit to di-
vine rule
• Create their own way to the divine rather than follow Yahweh’s pre-
scribed path
The tower was not merely an architectural project but a spiritual rebellion
of cosmic proportions. It represented the first organized attempt to estab-
lish a world government independent of Yahweh’s authority—a pattern that
would repeat throughout history and reach its final expression in the end-
times system described in Revelation.
The First Counterfeit Savior
Ancient sources describe Nimrod as presenting himself as humanity’s
deliverer and protector. While Yahweh had promised that the seed of the
woman would ultimately crush the serpent’s head (Genesis 3:15), Nimrod
positioned himself as that promised deliverer. He offered humanity:
• Protection from wild beasts (hence the hunter imagery)
• Unity and strength through centralized government
• Progress through technological advancement and city-building
• Security through human achievement rather than dependence on Yah-
weh
In this way, Nimrod became the first in a long line of false messiahs who
would offer salvation apart from Yahweh’s plan.
Semiramis: The Exaltation of the Divine Feminine
The Historical Figure
When Nimrod died, his empire faced a succession crisis. According to
historical sources including ancient Assyrian records and later historians
like Diodorus Siculus, Nimrod’s wife Semiramis seized power and proved to
be an even more formidable ruler than her husband. She became one of his-
tory’s most powerful female leaders, expanding the Babylonian empire and
establishing many of the religious practices that would define paganism for
millennia.
The Deification Strategy
Faced with the challenge of maintaining control after Nimrod’s death,
Semiramis devised a brilliant political and religious strategy. She declared
that Nimrod had not truly died but had ascended to become the sun
god—Baal, Marduk, or whatever name the local population preferred. This
accomplished several objectives:
• Maintained political legitimacy by keeping Nimrod’s authority alive
• Elevated her own status as the widow and interpreter of the divine
king
• Created a religious system that could be adapted to different cultures
• Established precedent for ruler worship throughout the ancient world
The Queen of Heaven
Semiramis then took the revolutionary step of declaring herself divine as
well. She claimed the title “Queen of Heaven” (Malkath haShamayim in He-
brew), positioning herself as:
• The divine mother who could intercede with the gods
• The goddess of fertility who controlled the harvest and childbearing
• The queen of the spiritual realm who ruled over life and death
• The divine feminine principle that balanced the masculine sun god
This self-deification was not merely political opportunism but represented
a fundamental theological shift. Where Yahweh had revealed Himself as the
sovereign Creator who needed no consort or feminine counterpart, Semira-
mis introduced the concept of divine feminine energy as essential to spiritu-
al life.
The Miraculous Conception Claim
Perhaps Semiramis’ most audacious claim was that she had been miracu-
lously impregnated by the spirit of the deified Nimrod. She declared that
through supernatural means, she had conceived a divine child who would be
both fully divine (as Nimrod’s spiritual son) and fully human (born of wom-
an) the first god-man, very god and very man.
This represented the first counterfeit virgin birth in recorded history—a
satanic attempt to fulfill the promise of Genesis 3:15 through human ma-
nipulation rather than divine intervention. The parallels to the later birth of
Yahshua are unmistakable and clearly deliberate.
Tammuz: The First Dying and Rising God
The Divine Child
The son born to Semiramis was named Tammuz (Hebrew: Tammuz; Akka-
dian: Dumuzi). According to the developing mythology, this child possessed
the divine nature of his father Nimrod while also being born of woman. He
was presented as:
• The promised seed who would deliver humanity
• The bridge between heaven and earth
• The dying and rising god whose cycle mirrored the seasons
• The savior who would overcome death itself
The Tragic Death
The legend developed that Tammuz was killed by a wild boar during a
hunting expedition in his fortieth year of life. Some versions of the story
suggest he was killed in winter, others place his death in late summer. The
precise timing varied by culture, but the essential elements remained con-
stant:
• He died young at the height of his power and beauty
• His death was violent and untimely
• The world mourned his passing
• His mother led the grieving process
The Forty Days of Weeping
Following Tammuz’s death, Semiramis instituted a period of mourning that
would last exactly forty days. During this time:
• Women would fast and abstain from certain foods
• Ritualistic weeping would occur in temples and homes
• Special foods would be prepared and offered to the dead god
• Priests would lead elaborate ceremonies of mourning
The prophet Ezekiel witnessed this very practice infiltrating the Temple in
Jerusalem: “Then he brought me to the door of the gate of Yahweh’s house which
was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz” (Ezekiel
8:14).
This forty-day mourning period became the direct predecessor of the
Christian season of Lent—forty days of supposed preparation before the cel-
ebration of the spring resurrection festival.
The Spring “Resurrection”
After exactly forty days of mourning, the Babylonian religious calendar
celebrated Tammuz’s “resurrection” from the dead. This spring festival in-
volved:
• Fertility rituals celebrating the return of life to the earth
• Sexual rites performed in temple courtyards and sacred groves
• Symbolic foods including eggs (representing new life) and rabbits (rep-
resenting fertility)
• Sunrise ceremonies marking the victory of light over darkness
The festival was called by various names in different cultures—Ishtar in
Babylon, Astarte in Canaan, Eostre in Northern Europe—but the essential
elements remained the same. This celebration became the direct ancestor of
the modern Easter festival.
The Spread of the Babylonian Trinity
The Egyptian Adaptation
When the Babylonian religious system spread to Egypt, the names
changed but the essential story remained identical:
• Nimrod became Osiris - the divine king who died and was resurrected
• Semiramis became Isis - the divine mother and Queen of Heaven
• Tammuz became Horus - the divine child born of supernatural con-
ception
Egyptian mythology elaborated the story: Osiris was killed and dismem-
bered by his brother Set, but Isis gathered the pieces and, through magical
means, conceived Horus. The child Horus was often depicted being nursed
by Isis in imagery that would later be adapted for Christian Madonna and
child representations.
The Greek Transformation
Greek culture adapted the Babylonian trinity into its own mythological
framework:
• Nimrod became Zeus - the king of the gods who ruled from Mount
Olympus
• Semiramis became multiple goddesses - Rhea, Hera, Demeter, depend-
ing on the specific aspect
• Tammuz became Dionysus - the dying and rising god of wine and fer-
tility
The Greek mystery religions, particularly the Dionysiac mysteries, devel-
oped elaborate rituals around the death and resurrection theme that would
later influence early Christianity.
The Roman Integration
Rome, with its genius for religious syncretism, absorbed not only Greek
adaptations but religious systems from throughout the empire:
• Nimrod became Jupiter - the supreme deity of the Roman pantheon
• Semiramis became Venus - the goddess of love, or later, the deified
Mary
• Tammuz became various dying gods - Adonis, Attis, and eventually the
Romanized version of Jesus (not the true Son of God but the one hijacked
and re-invented by Greek/Roman/Hellenized religion)
Significantly, Rome’s brilliant and sucessful approach was not to replace
local religions but to merge them into a universal system that could satisfy
various ethnic and cultural groups within the empire.
The Christianization of Babylon
Constantine’s Strategic Syncretism
When Emperor Constantine legalized Christianity in 313 CE and later
made it the empire’s official religion, he faced a massive practical challenge:
how to convert a vast empire filled with people devoted to their traditional
festivals and religious practices?
Constantine’s solution was brilliant from a political standpoint but dev-
astating from a theological perspective. Rather than requiring converts to
completely abandon their familiar celebrations, the church began allow-
ing—and eventually encouraging—the transformation of pagan festivals
into Christian holidays.
This process involved:
• Keeping the same dates that people were already accustomed to cele-
brating
• Maintaining similar rituals and symbols but giving them new mean-
ings
• Preserving the emotional and social aspects that made the festivals
appealing
• Adding Christian names and stories to make the celebrations appear
biblically legitimate
The Festival Transformations
The major pagan celebrations were systematically Christianized:
Saturnalia → Christmas
• Date: December 25th (birthday of Sol Invictus) became the birthday of
Jesus
• Practices: Gift-giving, feasting, and evergreen decorations were main-
tained
• Theology: The birth of the sun god became the birth of the “Sun of
Righteousness”
Ishtar Festival → Easter
• Timing: The spring fertility celebration became the resurrection festi-
val
• Symbols: Eggs and rabbits retained their fertility symbolism but were
given new “Christian” meanings
• Practices: Sunrise services and special foods were maintained
Tammuz Mourning → Lent
• Duration: The forty days of weeping for Tammuz became forty days of
Christian preparation
• Practices: Fasting and abstinence were maintained but redirected to-
ward Christian purposes
• Theology: Mourning for the dead god became preparation for celebrat-
ing the risen Christ
The Theological Corruption
This syncretistic process accomplished exactly what Satan intended—it
created a form of Christianity that looked authentic on the surface
but was fundamentally corrupted at its core. Believers began rehears-
ing Babylon’s story while thinking they were celebrating biblical truth.
The result was a hybrid religion that:
• Satisfied pagan sensibilities while appearing Christian
• Maintained Babylonian timing while claiming biblical authority
• Preserved counterfeit symbols while giving them new interpretations
• Continued the enemy’s narrative while using Yahweh’s vocabulary
The Perfect Counterfeit: A Side-by-Side Analysis
The Diabolical Precision
The most disturbing aspect of this deception is how precisely the Babylo-
nian festivals mirror the true biblical moedim. This is not coincidental—it
reveals the intelligence behind the counterfeit. Satan knew exactly which
elements of Yahweh’s plan to imitate:
Passover (14th of Nisan) Good Friday/Easter (Variable Spring Date)
• True Story: Yahshua died as the Passover Lamb on the exact biblical
date
• Counterfeit: Tammuz died and was mourned, then celebrated as risen
Firstfruits (Day after Sabbath after Unleavened Bread) Easter Sunday
• True Story: Yahshua was presented to His father on Firstfruits, guar-
anteeing the resurrection of all believers
• Counterfeit: Spring fertility celebration with eggs and rabbits
Tabernacles (7th month) Christmas (December)
• True Story: Yahweh dwelling with His people, when Yahshua was ac-
tually born
• Counterfeit: Birth of the sun god during winter solstice
Days of Awe (Fall preparation) Lent (Spring preparation)
• True Story: Genuine repentance before the Day of Atonement
• Counterfeit: Ritualistic mourning for Tammuz
The Timing Deception
Notice how the counterfeit festivals occur at completely different times
than the biblical moedim: but close enough to not seem contrary.
• Biblical festivals follow Yahweh’s calendar based on Sun, Moon and
Stars as preserved in the Zadokite Priestly Calendar.
• Pagan festivals follow the solar calendar only and seasonal changes
related to sun worship
• This ensures that people cannot celebrate both systems simultaneous-
ly
Those who follow the church calendar are automatically prevented from
properly observing Yahweh’s appointed times. The timing conflict is not ac-
cidental—it’s designed to force a choice between two competing systems.
The Suppression of Truth
Why This Story Was Hidden
The reason most Christians have never heard this historical account is
simple: if they knew the true origins of their most cherished holidays, they
could never celebrate them with the same innocence again. The revelation
of this history exposes several uncomfortable truths:
Church Authority: It reveals that much of what the institutional church
presents as biblical truth is actually baptized paganism.
Biblical Ignorance: It demonstrates how far the church has drifted from the
biblical calendar and Yahweh’s appointed times.
Cultural Compromise: It shows how successfully the enemy has infiltrated
Christianity through cultural accommodation.
Generational Deception: It reveals that entire generations of believers have
unknowingly participated in rehearsing Satan’s counterfeit gospel.
The Historical Cover-Up
Believers such as myself and those who have joined me as their Pastor on
this journey out of Babylon are not alone. Throughout church history, var-
ious reformers and scholars discovered this information and tried to warn
the church:
• The Puritans rejected Christmas and Easter celebrations because they
recognized their pagan origins. So much so that when they established
American colonies, it was a crime to celebrate Christmas, punishible
by imprisonment or fine.
• Various Protestant reformers attempted to return the church to bibli-
cal practices
• Sabbath-keeping groups maintained awareness of the true biblical
calendar
• Independent scholars documented the pagan connections despite in-
stitutional opposition
However, these voices were consistently marginalized, their writings sup-
pressed, and their movements persecuted by the established church hierar-
chy that had too much invested in the existing system to allow fundamental
reform.
The Modern Awakening
In recent decades, increased access to historical documents, archaeolog-
ical discoveries, and independent biblical scholarship has made this infor-
mation more widely available than ever before. The internet has allowed
truth-seekers to access primary sources and connect with others who are
discovering these same realities. The great blessing of the Covid 19 scam-
demic in America was how it brought together the end time Bride of Christ
into saced study and fellowship. It would take a crisis of that magnitude to
find the wheat of Yahweh hidden among the stuff in isolation not knowing
where to find truth.
This awakening is not coincidental—it aligns with biblical prophecies
about the end times when Yahweh would restore His people to His ways and
call them out of Babylon before its final judgment.
The Prophetic Significance
Jeremiah’s Condemnation
The prophet Jeremiah specifically condemned the worship of the “Queen
of Heaven” that had infiltrated Israel:
“The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead
their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings
unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger” (Jeremiah 7:18).
“But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to
burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as
we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah,
and in the streets of Jerusalem” (Jeremiah 44:17).
Notice that the people insisted on continuing these practices despite Yah-
weh’s clear prohibition. They justified their disobedience by appealing to
tradition (“as we have done”) and cultural acceptance (“our fathers... our kings...
our princes”). This mirrors exactly how modern Christians defend Christmas
and Easter celebrations.
Ezekiel’s Temple Vision
Ezekiel was given a vision of abominations occurring in Yahweh’s temple,
including women weeping for Tammuz (Ezekiel 8:14). This demonstrates
that the Babylonian religious system had already begun corrupting temple
worship even before the Babylonian exile.
The progression of abominations Ezekiel witnessed—from idol worship to
sun worship to Tammuz mourning—represents the same pattern by which
paganism infiltrates true religion in every generation.
Revelation’s Final Warning
The book of Revelation presents the ultimate destiny of the Babylonian
system:
“And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is
fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and
a cage of every unclean and hateful bird” (Revelation 18:2).
“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye re-
ceive not of her plagues” (Revelation 18:4).
This final call to “come out” applies not only to the end-times political and
economic system but to the religious system that has its roots in ancient
Babylon. Yahweh’s people are called to separate themselves from all forms
of Babylonian religion—including its festivals and practices that have been
given Christian names.
The Call to Return
Recognizing the Deception
The first step toward freedom is recognizing the extent of the deception.
This requires:
• Honest examination of the historical origins of cherished traditions
• Biblical comparison between man-made holidays and Yahweh’s ap-
pointed times
• Spiritual discernment to distinguish between cultural tradition and
divine truth
• Courage to act on truth even when it conflicts with family and cultural
expectations
Embracing Yahweh’s Story
Once the deception is recognized, believers are called to return to Yah-
weh’s original calendar:
• Sabbath observance every seventh day from Friday evening to Satur-
day evening
• Biblical feasts celebrated according to Yahweh’s calendar rather than
human tradition
• Seasonal awareness of Yahweh’s agricultural and prophetic calendar
• Family education to pass biblical truth to the next generation
The Promise of Restoration
Yahweh promises special blessing to those who return to His ways:
“And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up
the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the
breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in” (Isaiah 58:12).
Those who abandon Babylonian practices and return to biblical obser-
vance become part of Yahweh’s end-times restoration movement—repairing
the breach between true worship and false tradition.
Conclusion: The Truth That Sets Free
The story you were never supposed to know reveals the spiritual battle
that has raged since the days of Nimrod. It exposes how successfully the en-
emy has corrupted even sincere worship by introducing subtle counterfeits
that appear similar to truth but lead people away from Yahweh’s appointed
ways.
Understanding this history doesn’t diminish the sincerity of those who
have unknowingly participated in Babylonian festivals while trying to honor
Yahshua. But once this truth is revealed, continued participation becomes
a conscious choice between two competing systems—Yahweh’s story of re-
demption or Babylon’s counterfeit narrative.
The festivals of Christmas, Easter, and Lent are not harmless cultural tra-
ditions. They are the annual rehearsal of Babylon’s false gospel—the story of
Nimrod, Semiramis, and Tammuz retold with Christian vocabulary. Each year
that believers participate in these celebrations, they unknowingly rehearse
the enemy’s narrative instead of Yahweh’s redemptive plan.
But Yahweh is calling His people back to His moedim—His appointed
times that tell the true story of redemption. The choice before every believer
is clear: Will you continue rehearsing Babylon’s story, or will you re-
turn to Yahweh’s calendar and learn to celebrate His festivals according to
His timing?
The true story of redemption is not found in the traditions of men but in
the appointed times of Yahweh. This is the story you were never supposed to
know—but now that you know it, what will you do with this truth?
“Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye re-
ceive not of her plagues” (Revelation 18:4).
Chapter 4 – Yahweh’s Appointed Seasons
The Divine Clock in the Sky: Creation’s Calendar
When Yahweh spoke the heavens into existence, He was not merely creat-
ing beautiful celestial objects for decoration or even just providing light for
the earth. He was establishing a divine timepiece—a cosmic calendar that
would govern the spiritual life of His people for all generations. Genesis 1:14
reveals this profound truth:
“And Yahweh said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the
day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and
years.”
The Mistranslation That Hides Truth
The English word “seasons” in this passage has led many to think Yahweh
was simply referring to spring, summer, fall, and winter. But this translation
conceals a much deeper spiritual reality. The Hebrew word is mo’edim —a
term that means far more than natural seasons.
Mo’edim literally means:
• Appointed times - specific moments chosen by Yahweh
• Divine appointments - meetings scheduled by the Creator Himself
• Sacred assemblies - holy gatherings commanded by Yahweh
• Rehearsals - opportunities to practice and remember Yahweh’s re-
demptive plan
From the very beginning—before sin entered the world, before the fall,
before any human religious system was conceived—Yahweh fixed His ap-
pointments in the heavens themselves. This was not an afterthought or a
response to human need; it was part of His original design for creation.
The Celestial Timekeepers
Yahweh established a perfect system of cosmic timekeeping:
1. The Sun marks the daily cycle and annual seasons, providing the frame-
work for days and years. Its consistent rising and setting creates the
rhythm of work and rest that governs human life.
If comparing to a clock, the Sun is the big hour hand
2. The Moon is the faithful witness and help meet to the sun and the timing
of Yahweh’s feast days. The (Rosh Chodesh) begins each Hebrew month.
If comparing to a clock, the Moon is the smaller minute hand
3. The Stars serve as celestial witnesses to Yahweh’s appointed order, they
rule the night. Unlike the moon, the stars never fail to show up and rule
the night even when no moon is visible. The constellations (mazzaroth)
tell the story of redemption across the night sky, serving as a heavenly
gospel written in lights that every culture can observe.
The Unchangeable Nature of Yahweh’s Calendar
This divine calendar possesses several crucial characteristics:
Permanent - Yahweh established these appointments at creation, making
them as enduring as the heavens themselves.
Universal - Every person on earth can observe the same sun, moon, and
stars, making Yahweh’s calendar accessible to all peoples.
Precise - The celestial movements follow exact mathematical patterns, en-
suring that the moedim occur at their appointed times without human error
or manipulation.
Immutable - No human authority—whether religious or political—can
change the timing of Yahweh’s appointments. They are written in creation
itself and therefore beyond human alteration.
The Book of Esther’s Preservation Principle
The book of Esther provides crucial insight into how Yahweh’s people are
to relate to His appointed times across generations:
“The Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such as
joined themselves unto them, so as it should not fail, that they would keep these two
days according to their writing, and according to their appointed times every year”
(Esther 9:27).
While this passage specifically refers to Purim, it establishes several im-
portant principles:
Generational Responsibility - Each generation must pass Yahweh’s ap-
pointed times to their children (“upon their seed”).
Inclusive Community - The moedim are for “all such as joined themselves
unto them,” indicating that these appointments are not limited by ethnicity
but are for all who covenant with Yahweh.
Precise Observance - They must be kept “according to their writing” and
“according to their appointed times,” emphasizing that human innovation
or cultural adaptation cannot alter Yahweh’s specific instructions.
Annual Faithfulness - These observances must continue “every year” with-
out interruption, regardless of changing circumstances or cultural pressures.
The Levitical Foundation
Leviticus 23 serves as the constitutional document for Yahweh’s appointed
times. The chapter begins with a crucial declaration:
“Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of
Yahweh, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts”
(Leviticus 23:2).
Notice that Yahweh emphasizes “my feasts”—these are not Israel’s inven-
tions but Yahweh’s own appointments. The Hebrew word for “feasts” here is
again mo’edim, and “holy convocations” (miqra’ei qodesh) means “sacred as-
semblies” or “holy rehearsals.”
The Deep Meaning of Mo’edim
More Than Holidays
A mo’ed represents something far more significant than a holiday or cele-
bration. Each appointment carries multiple layers of meaning:
A Divine Meeting - Each mo’ed is an opportunity for Yahweh’s people to
meet with Him in a special way. Just as you would not casually reschedule
an appointment with an important person, Yahweh’s people cannot substi-
tute their own timing for His divine appointments.
An Invitation into His Presence - The moedim provide specific times when
Yahweh promises to meet with His people in a particular way. These are
moments when heaven and earth connect according to His design.
A Prophetic Rehearsal - Each feast serves as a dress rehearsal for future
prophetic events. By observing the moedim, believers practice and prepare
for the ultimate fulfillment of Yahweh’s redemptive plan.
A Covenant Reminder - The appointed times serve as regular reminders of
Yahweh’s covenant relationship with His people, helping them remember
His faithfulness and their obligations.
The Appointment Principle
The concept of divine appointments helps us understand why Yahweh’s
moedim cannot be substituted with human alternatives. Consider this analo-
gy:
If you had an appointment with a great king, you would:
• Arrive at the specified time - not when it was convenient for you
• Come to the designated place - not to a location of your choosing
• Follow the prescribed protocol - not according to your personal pref-
erences
• Bring what was requested - not substitutes of your own design
Similarly, Yahweh has established specific times, places, and procedures
for meeting with Him. Attempting to substitute Christmas for Tabernacles
or Easter for Passover is like showing up for your appointment with the king
at the wrong time, wrong place, and with the wrong preparation.
The Seven Sacred Appointments
Overview of the Festival Calendar
Leviticus 23 outlines Yahweh’s complete festival calendar, which consists
of seven major appointed times plus the weekly Sabbath. These festivals fall
into two main seasons:
Spring Festivals (corresponding to Yahshua’s first coming):
1. Passover (Pesach)
2. Unleavened Bread (Chag HaMatzot)
3. Firstfruits (Bikkurim)
4. Pentecost (Shavuot)
Fall Festivals (corresponding to Yahshua’s second coming): 5. Trumpets
(Yom Teruah/Rosh Hashanah) 6. Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) 7. Taberna-
cles (Sukkot) with the Last Great Day (Shemini Atzeret)
1. The Sabbath: The Foundation of Sacred Time
“Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, a holy con-
vocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of Yahweh in all your dwell-
ings” (Leviticus 23:3).
The Sabbath stands apart as the foundational mo’ed—the weekly appoint-
ment that establishes the rhythm for all other sacred times. Key aspects:
Creation Ordinance - Established at creation (Genesis 2:2-3), making it uni-
versal rather than specifically Jewish.
Covenant Sign - Serves as the sign of Yahweh’s covenant with His people
(Exodus 31:13).
Weekly Rhythm - Provides the basic pattern of work and rest that governs
all human activity.
Prophetic Shadow - Points toward the ultimate rest that Yahweh’s people
will enter in His kingdom.
2. Passover: Deliverance Through the Blood
“In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is Yahweh’s passover” (Leviticus
23:5).
Passover commemorates Yahweh’s deliverance of Israel from Egyptian
bondage through the blood of the lamb. Prophetic significance:
Historical Fulfillment - Yahshua died as the Passover Lamb on the exact
day of Passover (1 Corinthians 5:7).
Redemptive Foundation - Establishes the principle that deliverance comes
through substitutionary sacrifice.
Personal Application - Every believer must experience their own “Pass-
over”—deliverance from the bondage of sin through Yahshua’s blood.
3. Unleavened Bread: Putting Away Sin
“And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto
Yahweh: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread” (Leviticus 23:6).
This seven-day feast immediately follows Passover, representing the ongo-
ing process of sanctification. Key elements:
Leaven as Sin - Leaven represents sin, malice, and wickedness (1 Corinthi-
ans 5:8).
Complete Removal - All leaven must be removed from homes, representing
the thoroughness required in putting away sin.
Duration - Seven days represents completion, indicating that sanctification
is a complete, ongoing process.
New Life - Unleavened bread represents the new, pure life that follows re-
demption.
4. Firstfruits: The Resurrection Guarantee
“Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the
land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a
sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest” (Leviticus 23:10).
Firstfruits celebrates the beginning of the harvest and serves as a guaran-
tee of the full harvest to come:
Resurrection Day - Yahshua rose from the dead on the day of Firstfruits (1
Corinthians 15:20-23).
Harvest Guarantee - His resurrection guarantees the future resurrection of
all believers.
Present Victory - Demonstrates that death has been conquered and new life
is available.
5. Pentecost: The Giving of the Spirit
“And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that
ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: Even
unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall
offer a new meat offering unto Yahweh” (Leviticus 23:15-16).
Pentecost occurs fifty days after Firstfruits and commemorates both the giv-
ing of the Torah at Sinai and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit:
Historical Giving - Torah was given at Mount Sinai on Pentecost.
Prophetic Fulfillment - The Holy Spirit was poured out on the disciples on
Pentecost (Acts 2).
New Covenant - Represents the internalization of Yahweh’s law through the
Spirit.
Empowerment - Provides the supernatural power needed to live according
to Yahweh’s standards.
6. Trumpets: The Awakening Call
“Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of
the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy con-
vocation” (Leviticus 23:24).
The Feast of Trumpets begins the fall festival season and serves as an awak-
ening call:
Prophetic Significance - Points to the return of Yahshua and the awakening
of the dead (1 Thessalonians 4:16).
Call to Repentance - Begins ten days of introspection before the Day of
Atonement.
Royal Announcement - Trumpets announce the coming of the King.
Gathering - Represents the gathering of Yahweh’s people from all nations.
7. Day of Atonement: Final Cleansing
“Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it
shall be a holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an
offering made by fire unto Yahweh” (Leviticus 23:27).
The Day of Atonement represents the most solemn day in Yahweh’s calen-
dar:
National Cleansing - The one day when atonement was made for the entire
nation.
High Priest’s Work - Only the High Priest could enter the Holy of Holies.
Prophetic Fulfillment - Points to Yahshua’s work as High Priest and final
judgment.
Ultimate Atonement - Represents the final dealing with sin before the
Kingdom.
8. Tabernacles: Yahweh Dwelling with His People
“Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month
shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto Yahweh” (Leviticus 23:34).
Tabernacles celebrates Yahweh’s dwelling with His people and points to the
ultimate establishment of His kingdom:
Historical Remembrance - Commemorates Yahweh’s provision during the
wilderness wandering.
Prophetic Fulfillment - Points to Yahshua’s birth and ultimate dwelling
with His people.
Kingdom Reality - Represents the final establishment of Yahweh’s kingdom
on earth.
Universal Celebration - Will be observed by all nations during the Millen-
nium (Zechariah 14:16).
9. The Last Great Day: Final Restoration
The eighth day of Tabernacles (Shemini Atzeret) represents the completion of
Yahweh’s redemptive plan:
New Beginning - Eight represents new beginnings and resurrection.
Final Gathering - The ultimate gathering of all Yahweh’s people.
Eternal Kingdom - Points to the eternal state beyond the Millennium.
The Warning Against Learning Pagan Ways
Yahweh specifically warned His people about adopting the religious practic-
es of the nations:
“Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for
the heathen are dismayed at them” (Jeremiah 10:2).
“Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they
be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying,
How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise” (Deuteronomy
12:30).
These warnings are not suggestions—they are commandments that remain
in effect for all generations of believers.
The Birth Timing: Tabernacles
Given this pattern of precise fulfillment, where does Yahshua’s birth fit
into Yahweh’s moedim? The Gospel of John provides a crucial clue:
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the
glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
The Greek word translated “dwelt” is eskenosen, which literally means
“tabernacled” or “pitched his tent.” This is the same word used in the Septu-
agint for Yahweh’s dwelling in the Tabernacle.
John is declaring that Yahshua was born during the Feast of Tabernacles—
when Yahweh comes to dwell (tabernacle) among His people. This timing fits
perfectly with:
• The prophetic pattern of Messiah fulfilling Yahweh’s moedim
• The theological significance of Yahweh dwelling among His people
• The seasonal timing that would allow shepherds to be in the fields at
night
• The travel requirements that would bring Joseph and Mary to Bethle-
hem for the feast
Why December is Impossible
Several factors make a December birth impossible:
Climate - Judean winters are cold and rainy, making overnight shepherding
unlikely.
Census Timing - Roman censuses were not conducted in winter when travel
was difficult.
Travel Conditions - The journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem would be
treacherous in winter.
Temple Service - The priestly courses (including Zacharias’s course) fol-
lowed a specific schedule that places John the Baptist’s birth in early fall and
Yahshua’s birth six months later at Tabernacles.
The Promise of Blessing
Yahweh promises special blessing to those who honor His appointed times:
“Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that
keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil”
(Isaiah 56:2).
“Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to Yahweh, to serve him, and
to love the name of Yahweh, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath
from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Even them will I bring to my holy
mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer” (Isaiah 56:6-7).
Conclusion: Appointment or Disappointment?
Yahweh has established His divine appointments in the heavens them-
selves, making them as permanent and unchangeable as the stars. These
moedim are not optional cultural traditions but divine commandments that
carry eternal significance.
Every believer faces a crucial choice: Will you keep Yahweh’s appoint-
ments, or will you continue following the counterfeit calendar of Babylon?
Will you meet with Him at His appointed times, or will you risk missing His
presence by following human tradition?
The festivals of Christmas, Easter, and Lent are not Yahweh’s appoint-
ments—they are Babylon’s counterfeits that occur at different times and
celebrate different stories. By observing these holidays instead of Yahweh’s
moedim, believers miss the divine appointments that Yahweh has estab-
lished for meeting with His people.
Yahshua lived His entire life according to Yahweh’s calendar, fulfilling
each mo’ed at its appointed time. His followers are called to do the same—to
live according to heaven’s calendar rather than earth’s traditions.
The choice is clear: Yahweh’s appointments lead to His presence and
blessing. Man’s traditions lead to disappointment and spiritual poverty.
Which calendar will you follow?
“And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sab-
bath” (Mark 2:27).
Yahweh’s moedim were made for our benefit—to provide regular opportu-
nities for fellowship with Him, rehearsal of His redemptive plan, and prepa-
ration for prophetic fulfillment. They are gifts from a loving Father who
desires to meet with His children at appointed times.
The question remains: Will you keep your appointment with Yahweh?
Chapter 5 – The Birth of John the Baptist: The Prophetic Timepiece
Why John’s Birth Matters: The Key to Unlocking Yahshua’s Nativity
Luke’s Gospel begins with an unusual structure that most readers over-
look. Rather than opening immediately with the birth of Yahshua the Messi-
ah—the central figure of the entire narrative—Luke carefully establishes the
birth account of John the Baptist first.
This literary choice is neither accidental nor arbitrary. It reveals Luke’s
understanding of a crucial prophetic principle: John’s nativity serves as a
divine timepiece that unlocks the precise timing of Messiah’s birth.
The angel Gabriel provided the chronological key when he announced to
Mary: “And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old
age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren” (Luke 1:36). This
divine revelation establishes an unbreakable chronological link between the
two births—John preceding Yahshua by exactly six months.
Therefore, determining when Yahshua was born is not a matter of specu-
lation or tradition. It requires careful calculation based on the precisely doc-
umented timing of John’s conception and birth. Luke, writing under divine
inspiration, provided all the chronological data necessary to solve this pro-
phetic puzzle.
The Historical Context: Temple Service and Priestly Courses
The Davidic Organization of the Priesthood
To understand the timing of John’s conception, we must first examine the
biblical system of priestly service established by King David.
First Chronicles 24:1-19 records how David, under divine guidance, orga-
nized the priesthood into twenty-four courses (mishmarot), each responsible
for serving in the Temple for one week twice per year.
This system was not a human invention but a divinely ordained structure
that continued throughout the Second Temple period. The historian Jose-
phus confirms that this twenty-four course system remained in effect during
the time of Yahshua, making it historically reliable for calculating the tim-
ing of Zechariah’s service.
The Course of Abijah: The Eighth Division
Luke 1:5 provides the crucial chronological anchor: “There was in the days of
Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia.”
The “course of Abia” (Abijah) was the eighth of the twenty-four priestly
divisions established by David (1 Chronicles 24:10).
Each priestly course served according to a precise schedule:
Regular Service: Each course served one week in the Temple, from Sabbath
to Sabbath, twice per year (totaling 48 weeks for all 24 courses).
Festival Service: All priests were required to serve during the three pilgrim-
age festivals—Passover, Pentecost, and Tabernacles—regardless of their
regular course schedule (Deuteronomy 16:16).
Sabbath Transition: The changing of the guard occurred on the Sabbath,
ensuring continuous Temple service without interruption.
Calculating Abijah’s Service Times
Based on historical records and the Talmudic tradition that preserves the
Temple service schedule, the course of Abijah served:
First Service: Approximately the 8th week of the year (late spring)
Second Service: Approximately the 32nd week of the year (early fall)
However, the festival obligations complicate this schedule. During Pass-
over, Pentecost, and Tabernacles, all priestly courses served together, which
could shift the regular rotation.
Most conservative biblical scholars place Zechariah’s service mentioned
in Luke 1:8-23 during his first course of the year, which would have fallen
around the time of Pentecost (late spring/early summer).
The Angelic Announcement: Divine Timing Revealed
The Temple Context
Luke provides specific details about the circumstances of Gabriel’s an-
nouncement to Zechariah:
“According to the custom of the priest’s office, his lot was to burn incense when he
went into the temple of Yahweh. And the whole multitude of the people were pray-
ing without at the time of incense” (Luke 1:9-10).
This was an extraordinary moment. The privilege of burning incense in
the Holy Place was determined by lot and was considered the highest honor
a priest could receive. For many priests, this opportunity came only once in
their lifetime, if at all.
The timing was significant—this occurred during the daily incense of-
fering, when the people gathered outside to pray. This was a moment of
heightened spiritual expectation and divine presence.
The Angelic Message
Gabriel’s announcement contained precise prophetic details:
“Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee
a son, and thou shalt call his name John. And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and
many shall rejoice at his birth. For he shall be great in the sight of Yahweh, and
shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit,
even from his mother’s womb. And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to
Yahweh their Elohim. And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias,
to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom
of the just; to make ready a people prepared for Yahweh” (Luke 1:13-17).
The Prophetic Significance
Several elements of this announcement carry chronological importance:
Divine Timing: The conception was not left to natural circumstances but
was announced in advance at a specific time.
Elijah Connection: John would come “in the spirit and power of Elias” (Eli-
jah), connecting him to Old Testament prophecy about the forerunner.
Preparatory Mission: His purpose was to “make ready a people prepared for
Yahweh,” indicating his role as the immediate predecessor of Messiah.
John’s Conception and Birth Timeline
The Conception Calculation
After receiving Gabriel’s announcement during his Temple service (ap-
proximately late spring/early summer), Zechariah completed his course and
returned home to the hill country of Judea where Elizabeth lived.
Luke records: “And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself
five months” (Luke 1:24).
If Zechariah’s service occurred around Pentecost (late spring), Elizabeth’s
conception would have occurred shortly thereafter—approximately in early
summer.
The Nine-Month Gestation
Following the normal nine-month gestation period, John’s birth would
have occurred in the following spring—specifically, during the season of
Passover.
This timeline aligns with several confirming factors:
Historical Tradition: Jewish expectation of Elijah’s return at Passover sup-
ports this timing.
The Precision of Divine Timing
The fact that John’s birth coincided with Passover was not coincidental
but prophetically significant. Every aspect of his life—from conception to
ministry—was precisely timed according to Yahweh’s redemptive calendar.
The Passover Connection: Prophetic Significance
Jewish Expectation of Elijah
To this day, Jewish families observe an ancient tradition during the Pass-
over Seder: they set an extra place at the table for Elijah the prophet, whose
return is expected to herald the coming of Messiah. This tradition stems
from Malachi’s prophecy:
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and
dreadful day of Yahweh: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children,
and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a
curse” (Malachi 4:5-6).
John as the Elijah Figure
Yahshua explicitly identified John the Baptist as the fulfillment of this Eli-
jah prophecy:
“And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come” (Matthew 11:14).
“But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him what-
soever they listed, as it is written of him” (Mark 9:13).
The angel Gabriel had already announced this connection: John would
come “in the spirit and power of Elias” (Luke 1:17).
The Passover-Lamb Connection
Passover commemorates Yahweh’s deliverance of Israel from Egyptian
bondage through the blood of the lamb. Every Jewish family was required to
sacrifice a spotless lamb and apply its blood to their doorposts for protec-
tion from the angel of death.
How prophetically appropriate that John—whose primary mission was to
identify Yahshua as “the Lamb of Yahweh”—was born during the very sea-
son when Israel remembered their deliverance through the lamb’s blood.
When John proclaimed, “Behold the Lamb of Yahweh, which taketh away the
sin of the world” (John 1:29), he was fulfilling the very purpose for which he
was born—to point Israel from the temporary lambs of Passover to the eter-
nal Lamb of Yahweh.
The Forerunner’s Fitting Birth
John’s Passover birth established him as the prophetic bridge between the
old covenant observance of Passover and its ultimate fulfillment in Yahsh-
ua’s sacrificial death. Born during the season of lambs, he would prepare the
way for the true Lamb who would take away the sin of the world.
This connection was not lost on the early church. They understood that
John’s birth timing was as prophetically significant as his message and min-
istry.
The Six-Month Differential: Calculating Yahshua’s Conception
Gabriel’s Announcement to Mary
Exactly six months after announcing John’s conception to Zechariah, Ga-
briel appeared to Mary with an even more extraordinary announcement:
“And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from Yahweh unto a city of
Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph,
of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary” (Luke 1:26-27).
The phrase “in the sixth month” refers to the sixth month of Elizabeth’s
pregnancy, not the sixth month of the year. This provides the precise
chronological link between the two miraculous conceptions.
The Conception Timeline
If John was conceived in early summer (after Zechariah’s Pentecost service),
then:
• John’s conception: Early summer (around Sivan/early summer)
• Yahshua’s conception: Early winter (around Kislev/December) - six
months later
• John’s birth: The following spring (around Nisan/Passover) - nine
months after conception
• Yahshua’s birth: The following autumn (around Tishri/Tabernacles) -
nine months after conception
This timeline places Yahshua’s conception during the season when Jews
commemorate the miracle of Hanukkah—the Festival of Lights—when Yah-
weh’s light miraculously endured in the Temple. How appropriate that the
conception of the “Light of the World” would most probably occur during
this season of celebrating Yahweh’s miraculous light.
The Mathematical Precision
The six-month differential between John and Yahshua is mathematically
precise:
• 6 months between conceptions
• 6 months between births
• Both following 9-month gestations
This precision demonstrates the divine orchestration of these events.
Nothing was left to chance or natural timing—every aspect was carefully
planned according to Yahweh’s prophetic calendar.
Confirming Evidence: Multiple Witnesses
The Shepherds in the Fields
Luke’s account mentions that shepherds were “abiding in the field, keeping
watch over their flock by night” when Yahshua was born (Luke 2:8). This detail
provides important seasonal evidence:
Winter Impossibility: Judean winters are cold and rainy, making overnight
shepherding in open fields extremely unlikely.
Autumn Possibility: During Tabernacles (September/October), weather
conditions in Judea would still permit outdoor shepherding.
Festival Context: Tabernacles required many sacrificial lambs, necessitating
shepherds to maintain flocks near Jerusalem.
The Census Timing
Luke also mentions that Joseph and Mary traveled to Bethlehem because
of a Roman census (Luke 2:1-5). Historical evidence suggests:
Travel Seasons: Romans typically conducted censuses during favorable trav-
el seasons, not during harsh winter weather.
Festival Convenience: Conducting a census during Tabernacles would find
many Jews already traveling to Jerusalem for the pilgrimage, making regis-
tration more efficient.
Accommodation Crisis: The overcrowding that prevented Joseph and Mary
from finding room in an inn aligns with the massive influx of pilgrims
during Tabernacles.
The Temple Presentation
Luke records that Yahshua was presented in the Temple according to the
Law when He was eight days old (Luke 2:21-24). If He was born during Tab-
ernacles, this presentation would have occurred during the Last Great Day
(Shemini Atzeret), adding additional prophetic significance to the timing.
The Prophetic Pattern: Divine Appointments
Yahweh’s Precision in Timing
The births of both John and Yahshua demonstrate Yahweh’s precise tim-
ing in fulfilling prophecy:
John’s Birth: Passover season - pointing to the Lamb of Yahweh
Yahshua’s Birth: Tabernacles season - celebrating Yahweh dwelling with
His people
Neither birth was random or coincidental. Both were precisely timed to
occur during Yahweh’s appointed seasons (moedim), reinforcing the connec-
tion between these miraculous births and Yahweh’s redemptive calendar.
The Contrast with Pagan Dating
This precision stands in stark contrast to the arbitrary dating of Yahshua’s
birth to December 25th:
Biblical Dating: Based on careful chronological calculation from document-
ed priestly service
Pagan Dating: Based on Roman sun god celebrations with no biblical foun-
dation
Biblical Festivals: Passover and Tabernacles—appointed times established
by Yahweh
Pagan Festivals: Winter solstice celebrations borrowed from multiple pagan
religions
Prophetic Significance: Both births align with messianic prophecy and bib-
lical symbolism
Cultural Accommodation: December 25th accommodates pagan tradition
with no prophetic meaning
Implications for Understanding Biblical Prophecy
The Importance of Chronological Accuracy
John’s birth demonstrates that biblical prophecy operates according to
precise divine timing, not human approximation. If we accept arbitrary
dates for crucial prophetic events, we lose the ability to understand Yah-
weh’s prophetic patterns.
The Role of Yahweh’s Calendar
Both John and Yahshua were born according to Yahweh’s festival calendar,
not human religious traditions. This establishes the principle that prophetic
fulfillment occurs according to biblical appointments, not cultural celebra-
tions.
The Witness of Two Testimonies
The births of John and Yahshua provide two coordinated witnesses to the
importance of following Yahweh’s calendar rather than human tradition.
Together, they testify that Messiah’s birth occurred during Tabernacles, not
Christmas.
Conclusion: The Prophetic Timepiece Points to Truth
John the Baptist’s birth serves as Yahweh’s prophetic timepiece, precisely
calibrated to reveal the true timing of Yahshua’s nativity. Through careful
examination of the biblical chronology, we discover that:
John was born during Passover—
the season of the lamb, perfectly fitting his role as the one who would iden-
tify Yahshua as “the Lamb of Yahweh.”
Yahshua was born during Tabernacles—
the season when Yahweh comes to dwell with His people, perfectly fitting
the birth of Emmanuel, “Yahweh with us.”
This biblical chronology stands in direct opposition to the December 25th
tradition, which has no foundation in Scripture and directly contradicts the
carefully documented timeline that Luke provides.
The choice before every believer is clear: Will you accept the precise bibli-
cal chronology that places Yahshua’s birth during Yahweh’s appointed feast
of Tabernacles, or will you continue following the tradition that places His
birth during a pagan sun god celebration?
John’s birth provides the key that unlocks this mystery. His Passover nativ-
ity points directly to Yahshua’s Tabernacles birth. The two witnesses stand
together, confirming that Messiah was born according to Yahweh’s calendar,
not man’s tradition.
The prophetic timepiece has spoken. The question is: Will you listen to its
divine testimony or continue following the traditions of men?
“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take
heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day
star arise in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19).
Chapter 6 – The 6th month further explored
Understanding “The Sixth Month”
The phrase “in the sixth month” has been misunderstood by many readers
who assume it refers to the sixth month of the Jewish calendar. However,
contextual analysis reveals that this phrase specifically refers to the sixth
month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy.
This interpretation is confirmed by Gabriel’s own words to Mary: “And,
behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this
is the sixth month with her, who was called barren” (Luke 1:36).
This chronological marker creates an unbreakable link between Eliza-
beth’s pregnancy and Mary’s conception. Yahweh did not leave the timing of
Messiah’s birth to chance—it was precisely coordinated with the pregnancy
of John’s mother.
The Significance of Gabriel’s Role
The fact that the same angel Gabriel who announced John’s conception
also announced Yahshua’s conception reveals the unified divine plan be-
hind both events. Gabriel served as Yahweh’s messenger for both announce-
ments, ensuring that the timing of these miraculous conceptions would be
perfectly coordinated.
Gabriel’s role connects these announcements to Old Testament prophecy,
particularly Daniel’s vision where Gabriel revealed the prophetic timetable
for Messiah’s coming (Daniel 9:20-27). The same heavenly messenger who
revealed when Messiah would come also announced the precise timing of
His conception and birth.
The Theological Significance of Tabernacles Birth
Yahweh Dwelling Among His People
The Feast of Tabernacles celebrates the ultimate theme of biblical proph-
ecy—Yahweh coming to dwell among His people. This feast commemorates
both the historical reality of Yahweh’s presence with Israel in the wilderness
and the prophetic promise of His eternal dwelling with redeemed humanity.
Yahshua’s birth during Tabernacles represents the ultimate fulfillment of
this theme. In the birth, Yahweh literally came to dwell among His people
in human flesh. Emmanuel—”Yahweh with us”—was born during the very
feast that celebrates this reality. In fact, the first birth or dwelling among us
was a rehearsal as well of when He shall dwell among us again.
The Festival of Joy and Light
Tabernacles was characterized by great joy and celebration. It was the
most joyful of all the biblical feasts, marked by:
Rejoicing: The feast was called “the season of our joy” (z’man simchateinu)
Light Ceremonies: The Temple was illuminated with great lamps during
the water-drawing ceremony
Dwelling in Booths: Families lived in temporary shelters, remembering
Yahweh’s provision in the wilderness
Harvest Celebration: The feast marked the completion of the agricultural
year
Into this context of joy, light, and celebration, the true Light of the World
was born. Yahshua entered the world during the very season when Jerusa-
lem was ablaze with lights and filled with rejoicing pilgrims.
The Prophetic Fulfillment
Tabernacles is the only biblical feast that will be universally observed during
the Millennial Kingdom:
“And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came
against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, Yahweh
of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles” (Zechariah 14:16).
Yahshua’s birth during this feast connects His first coming to His second
coming, when He will establish His kingdom and truly tabernacle among
His people forever.
The Light of the World at the Festival of Lights
The Temple Illumination
During Tabernacles, the Temple in Jerusalem was transformed into a spec-
tacular display of light. The Mishnah describes how four enormous golden
menorahs were erected in the Court of Women, each with four golden bowls
that were filled with oil and lit during the feast.
These lights were so bright that they illuminated the entire city of Jerusa-
lem. The Talmud records that “there was not a courtyard in Jerusalem that was
not lit up by the light of the water-drawing celebration.”
The True Light Enters the World
Into this context of spectacular illumination, Yahshua—the true Light of
the World—was born. John’s Gospel emphasizes this theme:
“In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in dark-
ness; and the darkness comprehended it not” (John 1:4-5).
“That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world”
(John 1:9).
The timing was not coincidental. The true Light entered the world during
the very season when Jerusalem was blazing with lights that symbolized
Yahweh’s presence among His people.
Later Testimony to His Light
During His ministry, Yahshua would later declare during the Feast of Taber-
nacles:
“I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but
shall have the light of life” (John 8:12).
This declaration was made during Tabernacles, possibly while the Temple
lights were blazing around Him. He was pointing back to His birth during
this same feast, when the true Light first entered the world.
The Conception in Covenant Season, Birth in Dwelling Season
The Perfect Symmetry
The timing of Yahshua’s conception and birth reveals perfect theological
symmetry:
Conception in Passover Season: The beginning of deliverance and redemp-
tion
Birth in Tabernacles Season: The realization of Yahweh dwelling with His
people
Spring Conception: New life and new beginnings
Fall Birth: Harvest and fulfillment
Passover Connection: The Lamb of Yahweh taking on flesh
Tabernacles Connection: Yahweh coming to dwell among His people
This symmetry demonstrates the divine planning behind every aspect of
the birth. Nothing was left to chance—every detail was orchestrated accord-
ing to Yahweh’s perfect will and timing.
The Covenant Framework
Both Passover and Tabernacles are covenant festivals that define Yahweh’s
relationship with His people:
Passover: Establishes the redemptive covenant through the blood of the
lamb
Tabernacles: Celebrates the dwelling covenant—Yahweh’s presence among
His people
Yahshua’s conception during Passover season initiated the process by
which the ultimate covenant would be established. His birth during Taber-
nacles fulfilled the promise that Yahweh would come to dwell among His
people.
The Testimony of Luke: Inspired Chronological Precision
Luke’s Careful Documentation
Luke’s Gospel demonstrates remarkable attention to chronological detail.
As a physician and historian, Luke understood the importance of precise
documentation. His account of the conception and birth narratives reflects
this commitment to accuracy.
The chronological markers Luke provides are not incidental details but
essential elements of the Gospel message. The timing of these events is part
of their theological significance.
The Divine Inspiration Factor
Luke wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, who guided him in
recording these precise chronological details. The Spirit ensured that future
generations would have the information necessary to understand when Mes-
siah was actually born.
This divine inspiration extends to the chronological framework Luke pro-
vides. The timing of Gabriel’s announcements, the pregnancy connections,
and the birth circumstances are all part of the inspired record.
The Prophetic Significance
Luke’s chronological precision serves a prophetic purpose. By carefully
documenting the timing of these events, Luke enables readers to understand
how Yahshua’s life fulfilled Yahweh’s appointed times.
This understanding is crucial for recognizing the false chronology that
places Yahshua’s birth in December. Luke’s inspired account provides the
chronological foundation for rejecting this tradition and embracing biblical
truth.
Implications for Christian Celebration
The Call to Biblical Accuracy
Understanding the true timing of Yahshua’s conception and birth has sig-
nificant implications for how believers celebrate His nativity:
Accuracy vs. Tradition: Believers must choose between biblical accuracy
and human tradition
Timing Matters: The when of Yahshua’s birth is as important as the what
Prophetic Understanding: Proper timing enhances understanding of pro-
phetic fulfillment
The Choice of Calendars
Recognizing that Yahshua was conceived during Passover season and born
during Tabernacles creates a choice between two calendars:
Yahweh’s Calendar: Spring conception, fall birth aligned with biblical feasts
Babylonian Calendar: December birth aligned with pagan sun god celebra-
tions
Divine Appointments: Celebrating according to Yahweh’s moedim
Human Traditions: Following traditions inherited from paganism
The Generational Impact
The choice to embrace biblical chronology versus traditional dating affects
multiple generations:
Truth vs. Error: Teaching children accurate biblical history
Worship vs. Syncretism: Pure worship versus mixed pagan-Christian cele-
bration
Covenant vs. Culture: Following biblical covenant versus cultural accom-
modation
Conclusion: The Word Made Flesh at the Appointed Time
The conception of Messiah was not a random event but a precisely timed
divine appointment. Gabriel’s announcement to Mary occurred exactly six
months after Elizabeth’s conception, placing Yahshua’s conception during
the Passover season and His birth during Tabernacles.
This chronological framework aligns perfectly with the prophetic pattern of
Yahshua’s life, in which every major event occurred during one of Yahweh’s
appointed times. His conception in covenant season and birth in dwelling
season complete the perfect symmetry of divine timing.
Luke’s inspired account provides the chronological foundation for under-
standing when Messiah was actually born. The precision of this biblical re-
cord stands in stark contrast to the traditional December 25th dating, which
has no foundation in Scripture and contradicts the carefully documented
timeline of the Gospel accounts.
The choice before every believer is clear: Will you accept the biblical
chronology that places Yahshua’s conception during Passover season and
His birth during Tabernacles, or will you continue following the tradition
that places His birth during a pagan sun god celebration?
The Word was made flesh and tabernacled among us during the Feast of
Tabernacles. His conception was in the spring, His birth in the fall. This is
the testimony of Luke, the testimony of prophecy, and the testimony of Yah-
weh’s calendar.
The question remains: Will you celebrate according to Yahweh’s appointed
times or according to the traditions of men?
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the
glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
Chapter 7 – Born to Tabernacle With Us
No Room at the Inn: The Feast-Day Reality
Luke’s Gospel provides a crucial detail that most readers overlook: the rea-
son for the overcrowding in Bethlehem that forced Mary and Joseph to seek
alternative lodging. Luke records:
“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes,
and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn” (Luke
2:7).
The phrase “no room for them in the inn” is not merely incidental infor-
mation—it provides a vital clue to the timing of Yahshua’s birth. This
overcrowding was not the result of a random population surge or unusual
economic activity. It was the direct result of one of the most significant reli-
gious observances in the Jewish calendar.
The Pilgrimage Festival Context
Bethlehem’s overcrowding becomes perfectly understandable when we
recognize that Yahshua was born during the Feast of Tabernacles—one of
the three mandatory pilgrimage festivals commanded in Scripture:
“Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before Yahweh thy Elohim in the
place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of
weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles” (Deuteronomy 16:16).
During Tabernacles, hundreds of thousands of Jewish pilgrims from
throughout the Roman Empire traveled to Jerusalem to observe the feast.
The sheer magnitude of this pilgrimage created a housing crisis that extend-
ed far beyond Jerusalem itself.
Bethlehem: The Overflow City
Bethlehem, located just five miles south of Jerusalem, served as a natural
overflow location for pilgrims who could not find accommodation in the
holy city. Several factors made Bethlehem particularly attractive during the
feast:
Proximity to Jerusalem: Close enough for daily travel to the Temple for
feast observances
Davidic Heritage: Bethlehem was the city of David, making it symbolically
significant for Jewish pilgrims
Available Space: Being smaller than Jerusalem, it offered alternative lodg-
ing options
Cultural Connections: Many families had ancestral ties to Bethlehem
through the Davidic lineage
The Impossible December Scenario
This festival context makes a December birth completely implausible.
Consider the practical realities:
Winter Travel Conditions: December in Judea is characterized by cold tem-
peratures, heavy rains, and difficult travel conditions. The idea that hun-
dreds of thousands of pilgrims would undertake arduous journeys to Jerusa-
lem during the worst travel season is historically and practically absurd.
No Winter Festivals: There are no biblical festivals occurring in December
that would require pilgrimage to Jerusalem. The Feast of Dedication (Ha-
nukkah) was a minor festival that did not require pilgrimage and would not
create the massive overcrowding described in Luke’s account.
Roman Census Timing: Roman administrators were not incompetent—they
would never conduct a census requiring mass population movement during
the harsh winter season when travel was most difficult and dangerous.
The Sukkah: Not a Stable
Correcting a Persistent Mistranslation
Traditional Christmas imagery depicts Yahshua born in a stable or barn
surrounded by farm animals. This romanticized picture, while deeply em-
bedded in Christian culture, reflects a fundamental misunderstanding of
both the biblical text and the historical context.
The Greek word used in Luke 2:7 that is often translated as “inn” is katalu-
ma, which does not specifically mean a commercial inn or hotel. Rather, it
refers to a guest room or lodging place—often a private home’s guest quar-
ters where travelers would normally stay.
When Luke states there was “no room for them in the kataluma,” he is in-
dicating that the normal guest accommodations were already occupied by
other pilgrims—a situation that would be expected during a major festival
like Tabernacles.
The Sukkah Connection
The alternative lodging that Mary and Joseph found was not a barn or
stable in the modern sense, but what Hebrew culture would recognize as a
sukkah—a temporary dwelling or booth constructed for the Feast of Taber-
nacles.
Leviticus 23:42-43 commands: “Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are
Israelites born shall dwell in booths: That your generations may know that I made
the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of
Egypt: I am Yahweh your Elohim.”
The Construction and Purpose of Sukkot
During Tabernacles, Jewish families construct temporary outdoor shelters
called sukkot (plural of sukkah). These structures serve multiple purposes:
Commemoration: They remind participants of Israel’s wilderness wander-
ing when they lived in temporary shelters under Yahweh’s protection
Humility: They represent the temporary nature of earthly dwellings com-
pared to eternal realities
Dependence: They symbolize complete dependence on Yahweh for protec-
tion and provision
Community: They create opportunities for hospitality and sharing during
the festival
Archaeological and Historical Evidence
Archaeological discoveries in and around Bethlehem have revealed numer-
ous ancient sukkah construction sites dating to the Second Temple period.
These temporary structures were commonly built by pilgrims who could not
secure indoor lodging during the festivals.
Historical sources, including Josephus and the Mishnah, document that
during major festivals, pilgrims routinely constructed temporary shelters in
the hills surrounding Jerusalem and Bethlehem. These sukkot provided ad-
equate shelter while allowing families to participate in the required festival
observances.
The Manger That Was Actually a Sukkah
Perhaps the most overlooked aspect of the nativity account is the true na-
ture of the “manger” where Jesus was laid. The traditional Christmas im-
agery of a wooden stable has obscured a far more significant Hebrew truth
that connects directly to the biblical feast calendar.
The Greek word phatne literally means “feeding trough” Nevertheless, this
manger may have been a sukkah or tabernacle, which is the flimsy little hut
that Israelites build during the biblical Feast of Tabernacles.
The biblical proof or foundation for this connection is found in Genesis
33:17: “Jacob built booths (or tabernacles; Heb. succot or sukkot is the plural form
of sukkah) for his livestock showing us that the Hebrew word sukkah (pl.
sukkot) can also mean ‘livestock barn or manger’ as well as a temporary
habitation where Israelites dwell during the biblically commanded festival
of Sukkot.”
This linguistic connection becomes even more significant when we con-
sider the timing. At this time of year during the month of Tishri (September/
October) for the seven days of Sukkot, as said, all Jews had to stay in tempo-
rary shelters outside their normal houses or boarding place. During these
seven days of Sukkot, people were actually required to build small temporary
booths (sukkahs) for the celebration of Sukkot.
The legal requirements make this connection even more compelling: Yosef
and Miriam would not break the law and had to comply with Positive Law
168 – Lev 23:42 – On dwelling in a Sukkah (booth) for seven days. So Yesh-
ua was born in a Sukkah, to indicate that YHVH had come to earth to dwell
with humanity.
The Aramaic Witness: Aur-Yah
Beyond Greek Translation
While the Greek New Testament provides the foundation for most English
translations, the Aramaic manuscripts preserve linguistic connections that
are lost in Greek translation. This is particularly significant when examin-
ing the account of Yahshua’s birth.
Luke’s reference to the “manger” where the infant Yahshua was placed
uses the Greek word phatnē, meaning a feeding trough or stall. However, the
Aramaic New Testament uses the word aurya , which carries profound theo-
logical significance.
Breaking Down Aur-Yah
The Aramaic word aurya can be divided
into two meaningful components:
Aur = Light Yah = Yahweh (the short-
ened form of the divine name)
Together, aurya literally means “Light of
Yahweh” or “Yahweh’s Light.”
This linguistic analysis reveals that
when the Gospel writers described
Yahshua being placed in the aurya, they
were making a profound theological
statement about His identity and mis-
sion. The very location where He was
placed testified to His nature as the
Light of Yahweh come into the world.
The Prophetic Significance
This Aramaic witness connects directly to numerous Old Testament
prophecies about the coming Messiah:
“The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the
land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined” (Isaiah 9:2).
“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of Yahweh is risen upon thee” (Isa-
iah 60:1).
The placement of Yahshua in the aurya served as immediate testimony to
His fulfillment of these light prophecies. From the moment of His birth, the
Gospel writers were declaring Him to be the prophesied Light of Yahweh.
Linguistic Precision in Divine Revelation
The preservation of this Aramaic terminology demonstrates the precision
with which divine revelation operates. Even the location where the infant
Messiah was placed carried prophetic significance that testified to His di-
vine nature and mission.
This level of detail reinforces the biblical principle that every aspect of
Yahshua’s life—including the circumstances of His birth—was orchestrated
according to divine plan rather than left to human chance or convenience.
The Festival of Lights: Temple Illumination
The Water-Drawing Ceremony
The Feast of Tabernacles was characterized by elaborate ceremonies that
made it the most joyful and spectacular of all biblical festivals. The most fa-
mous of these was the Simchat Beit HaShoevah (Rejoicing of the Water-Draw-
ing), which transformed the Temple into a magnificent display of light and
celebration.
The Mishnah describes this ceremony in detail: “He who has not seen the re-
joicing of the water-drawing has never seen rejoicing in his life” (Sukkah 5:1). This
was not hyperbole—the celebration was genuinely spectacular.
The Great Menorahs
Four enormous golden menorahs were erected in the Court of Women,
each standing over 50 feet tall. Each menorah had four golden bowls that
were filled with oil and lit during the festival. These massive flames created
such brilliant illumination that the Talmud records: “There was not a court-
yard in Jerusalem that was not lit up by the light of the water-drawing cele-
bration” (Sukkah 5:3).
The Symbolic Meaning
These Temple lights served multiple symbolic purposes:
Divine Presence: They represented Yahweh’s presence dwelling among His
people
Messianic Hope: They pointed forward to the coming of Messiah, who
would be the Light of the World
Spiritual Illumination: They symbolized the spiritual enlightenment that
comes from Yahweh’s truth
Covenant Relationship: They reminded Israel of their calling to be a light
to the nations
The Timing of the True Light
Into this context of spectacular illumination celebrating Yahweh’s pres-
ence and pointing toward Messianic hope, the true Light of the World was
born. The timing was not coincidental—it was prophetically perfect.
John’s Gospel emphasizes this light theme in connection with the birth:
“In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in dark-
ness; and the darkness comprehended it not” (John 1:4-5).
“That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world”
(John 1:9).
Yahshua’s Later Declaration
The Feast of Tabernacles Proclamation
During His earthly ministry, Yahshua made one of His most significant
declarations during the Feast of Tabernacles, possibly while standing in the
very Temple courts where the great menorahs blazed:
“Then spake Yahshua again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that
followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12).
This declaration was made during Tabernacles, connecting directly back
to the season of His birth when the true Light first entered the world.
The Theological Connection
Yahshua’s declaration created multiple layers of meaning:
Historical Reference: He was pointing back to His birth during this same
festival
Present Reality: He was declaring His current role as the Light of the World
Future Promise: He was promising spiritual illumination to all who follow
Him
Prophetic Fulfillment: He was claiming to be the fulfillment of the light
prophecies
The Festival Context
By making this declaration during Tabernacles, surrounded by the Temple
lights and in the presence of thousands of pilgrims, Yahshua was creating
an unmistakable connection between the festival symbolism and His own
identity and mission.
The Star of Bethlehem: Astronomical Confirmation
Beyond Supernatural Explanation
While many interpretations of the “Star of Bethlehem” invoke purely su-
pernatural explanations, careful analysis of Matthew’s account suggests a
more complex astronomical phenomenon that would have been meaningful
to ancient Near Eastern astronomers.
Matthew 2:2 records the wise men saying: “Where is he that is born King of the
Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.”
The phrase “his star” suggests not merely a general celestial sign but a
specific astronomical configuration that ancient astrologers would interpret
as signifying the birth of a king.
The Magi’s Astronomical Expertise
The “wise men” (magoi in Greek) were likely astronomers and astrologers
from Babylon or Persia—regions with sophisticated astronomical traditions
dating back thousands of years. These scholars maintained detailed records
of celestial movements and their perceived significance for earthly events.
Their journey to Jerusalem was not based on casual observation but on se-
rious astronomical calculation. They recognized specific celestial signs that
indicated the birth of a significant king in Judea.
The Jupiter-Saturn Conjunction
Modern astronomical calculations have identified a remarkable celestial
event that occurred around 7-6 BCE: a rare triple conjunction of Jupiter and
Saturn in the constellation Pisces. This astronomical configuration would
have carried profound significance for ancient Near Eastern astronomers:
Jupiter: Known as the “king star” (Tzedek in Hebrew), associated with royal-
ty and divine blessing
Saturn: Associated with the Jewish people and the land of Israel in ancient
astrological systems
Pisces: The constellation associated with the “end times” and messianic ex-
pectations
Triple Conjunction: An extremely rare event occurring only every 800+
years
The Retrograde Motion
What made this conjunction particularly significant was Jupiter’s retro-
grade motion, which caused it to appear to pause and move westward over
Judea. From the Magi’s perspective, this would have appeared as the “star”
stopping over the place where the young king was born.
This astronomical explanation accounts for several features of Matthew’s
account:
• The star’s appearance in the east
• Its apparent movement westward
• Its “standing over” a specific location
• The timing that allowed the Magi to plan and execute their journey
The Prophetic Timing
The occurrence of this astronomical sign during the Feast of Tabernacles
(when Yahshua was born) adds another layer of prophetic significance. The
heavenly sign coincided with the earthly festival, creating a convergence of
celestial and terrestrial testimony to Messiah’s birth.
The Fulfillment Pattern in Tabernacles
Every Detail Points to Divine Orchestration
When we examine the circumstances surrounding Yahshua’s birth, every
detail aligns with the Feast of Tabernacles rather than any other time of
year:
The Crowds: Festival pilgrimage explains Bethlehem’s overcrowding
The Accommodation: A sukkah fits the temporary shelter theme of Taber-
nacles
The Location: The aurya testifies to the Light of Yahweh
The Temple Lights: Jerusalem blazes with lights welcoming the true Light
The Astronomical Sign: Heavenly confirmation of the earthly event
The Seasonal Timing: Fall weather permits outdoor shepherding and travel
The Impossible December Scenario
In contrast, December 25th explains none of these biblical details:
No Festival: No biblical reason for crowds in Bethlehem Wrong Season:
Winter weather contradicts outdoor shepherding Pagan Origins: December
25th derives from sun god worship, not biblical prophecy No Accommo-
dation: No explanation for the specific type of shelter Cultural Mismatch:
Roman census timing makes no practical sense
The Light and Life Themes
Tabernacles was also characterized by its emphasis on light and water—
two themes that are central to Yahshua’s identity and mission:
Light: The festival lights pointed to Messiah as the Light of the World
Water: The water-drawing ceremony pointed to Messiah as the source of
living water
Life: The harvest celebration pointed to Messiah as the source of eternal life
All of these themes converge in the Saviors birth during Tabernacles,
when the true Light, the living Water, and the source of eternal Life entered
the world.
Conclusion: The True Story Written in Yahweh’s Appointed Time
The nativity account, when properly understood within its biblical and
historical context, points unmistakably to Yahshua’s birth during the Feast
of Tabernacles. Every detail of Luke’s and Matthew’s accounts aligns with
this timing:
• The festival crowds that filled Bethlehem
• The sukkah that served as His birthplace
• The aurya that declared Him to be the Light of Yahweh
• The Temple illumination that testified to the true Light
• The astronomical sign that announced the King’s birth
• The seasonal conditions that permitted shepherding and travel
This true story of Messiah’s birth is not written in December tradition but
in Yahweh’s appointed time. It reveals the perfect orchestration of divine
providence, where every circumstance—from the celestial to the terrestrial,
from the historical to the prophetic—converged to announce the birth of
Yahweh among His people.
The Word was made flesh and tabernacled among us during the Feast of
Tabernacles. He was born not in a barn but in a sukkah, not during winter
but during the festival of Yahweh’s dwelling, not according to pagan timing
but according to prophetic appointment.
This understanding transforms our comprehension of the birth of Messiah
from a culturally-accommodated tradition to a precisely-fulfilled prophecy.
Yahshua was born to tabernacle with us—at the exact time when His people
celebrated Yahweh’s dwelling among them.
The choice before every believer is clear: Will you celebrate Messiah’s
birth according to the biblical evidence that places it during Tabernacles, or
will you continue following the tradition that places it during a pagan sun
god festival?
The true story has been written in Yahweh’s appointed time. The question
is: Will you read it there, or will you continue reading the counterfeit story
written by human tradition?
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the
glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
Chapter 8 – Circumcision on the Eighth Day: The Covenant Sealed
The Covenant Requirement: Yahweh’s Eternal Sign
The practice of circumcision on the eighth day was not a cultural tradition
or health practice developed by ancient peoples—it was a divine command-
ment that carried eternal significance. This covenant sign, established by
Yahweh Himself, would play a crucial role in understanding the precise tim-
ing and prophetic significance of Yahshua’s early life.
The Abrahamic Foundation
Yahweh first commanded circumcision when He established His covenant
with Abraham:
“And Yahweh said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou,
and thy seed after thee in their generations. This is my covenant, which ye shall
keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall
be circumcised” (Genesis 17:9-10).
“And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the
covenant betwixt me and you. And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised
among you, every man child in your generations” (Genesis 17:11-12).
The Specific Timing Command
The timing of circumcision was not left to human preference or conve-
nience. Yahweh specifically commanded that it occur on the eighth day:
“And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised” (Leviticus
12:3).
This precise timing would prove to be prophetically significant, connect-
ing circumcision to the broader pattern of Yahweh’s appointed times and
the symbolic meaning of the number eight in Scripture.
The Theological Significance
Circumcision represented several crucial theological concepts:
Covenant Entry: It marked a male child’s formal entry into covenant rela-
tionship with Yahweh
Flesh Denial: It symbolized the cutting away of the flesh and its desires
Separation: It distinguished Yahweh’s people from the surrounding nations
Faith Expression: It required faith in Yahweh’s promise, as Abraham
demonstrated
Prophetic Pointer: It pointed forward to the ultimate circumcision of the
heart
The Universal Application
This commandment applied to all male descendants of Abraham, including:
• Natural descendants through Isaac and Jacob
• Converted proselytes who joined the covenant community
• Household members including servants born in the household
• The Messiah Himself as a descendant of Abraham and member of the
covenant community
Luke’s Careful Documentation
The Gospel Record
Luke, writing with the precision of a physician and historian, carefully
documented Yahshua’s circumcision:
“And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name
was called Yahshua, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in
the womb” (Luke 2:21).
This seemingly simple verse contains several layers of theological and
chronological significance that most readers overlook.
The Obedience of Mary and Joseph
Luke’s account demonstrates that Mary and Joseph were faithful, To-
rah-observant Jews who carefully followed Yahweh’s commandments. De-
spite the extraordinary circumstances surrounding Yahshua’s conception
and birth, they did not consider themselves exempt from the normal cove-
nant obligations.
Their obedience to the circumcision command reveals:
• Respect for Yahweh’s Law even in miraculous circumstances
• Understanding that Yahshua, though divinely conceived, was fully hu-
man and subject to covenant requirements
• Faith that Yahweh’s commandments apply regardless of special cir-
cumstances
• Commitment to raising Yahshua according to biblical principles
The Naming Significance
Luke connects the circumcision to the official naming of the child. In Jew-
ish culture, the circumcision ceremony was when a male child received his
formal name and was officially welcomed into the covenant community.
The name “Yahshua” means “Yahweh saves” or “Yahweh is salvation.” This
name was not chosen by human parents but was specifically commanded by
the angel Gabriel before conception (Luke 1:31). The timing of this naming
on the eighth day carries profound prophetic significance.
The Last Great Day: Shemini Atzeret
Understanding the Festival Calendar
If Yahshua was born on the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles, as the
evidence strongly suggests, then His circumcision on the eighth day would
have fallen on Shemini Atzeret—the Last Great Day.
To understand the significance of this timing, we must examine the struc-
ture of the Tabernacles festival:
• Days 1-7: The Feast of Tabernacles proper (Sukkot)
• Day 8: The Last Great Day (Shemini Atzeret)
The Biblical Foundation for Shemini Atzeret
Leviticus 23:36 establishes this eighth day as a separate and distinct mo’ed:
“Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahweh: on the eighth day
shall be a holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire
unto Yahweh: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.”
The Hebrew term Shemini Atzeret literally means “Eighth Day of Assem-
bly” or “Eighth Day of Restraint.” This day is characterized by:
Separation: It is distinct from the seven days of Tabernacles
Solemnity: It is called an atzeret (solemn assembly)
Completion: It represents the conclusion of the festival cycle
Eternity: It points beyond the temporal to the eternal
The Prophetic Significance of the Eighth Day
In biblical numerology, the number eight carries profound symbolic mean-
ing:
New Beginnings: After the completion of seven (representing perfection or
completion), eight represents new starts
Resurrection: Yahshua rose on the eighth day (the first day of the week)
Covenant Renewal: Major covenant moments often involve the number
eight
Eternal Perspective: Eight points beyond temporal completion to eternal
realities
Historical Understanding of Shemini Atzeret
Jewish tradition has long understood Shemini Atzeret as pointing toward
the ultimate future—the time when Yahweh will gather all nations and es-
tablish His eternal kingdom. The Talmud describes it as a day when Yah-
weh desires intimate fellowship with His people, like a king who dismisses
guests after a long celebration but asks his beloved to stay for one more day
of private fellowship.
The Meaning of Eight in Scripture
Numerical Symbolism in Biblical Narrative
Scripture uses numbers symbolically throughout its narrative, and the num-
ber eight consistently represents themes of renewal, resurrection, and new
covenant reality.
Eight Souls in the Ark
The first significant use of eight in Scripture relates to Noah’s family:
“Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of Yahweh waited
in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls
were saved by water” (1 Peter 3:20).
Eight people were saved through the flood judgment, emerging into a
renewed world. This established eight as the number of salvation through
judgment and new beginnings after destruction.
The Eighth Day Pattern
Throughout Scripture, the eighth day represents entrance into new cove-
nant reality:
Circumcision: Male children entered the covenant on the eighth day
Cleansing: Various purification rituals were completed on the eighth day
(Leviticus 14:10, 15:14)
Priestly Consecration: Priests began their ministry on the eighth day (Le-
viticus 9:1)
Temple Dedication: Solomon’s temple dedication concluded on the eighth
day (2 Chronicles 7:9)
Resurrection and the Eighth Day
Yahshua’s resurrection occurred just before “the first day of the week”
(Matthew 28:1), which is also the eighth day when counted from the previous
week. This establishes the resurrection as the ultimate eighth day event—
the beginning of new creation.
The Eternal Perspective
Eight points beyond the temporal seven to eternal realities. If seven rep-
resents completion within time, eight represents the transcendence of time
into eternity. This makes Yahshua’s circumcision on the eighth day (Shemini
Atzeret) profoundly significant.
The First Shedding of Blood
Covenant Entry Through Blood
Yahshua’s circumcision on the eighth day marked the first time His blood
was shed for covenant purposes. This moment carries multiple layers of
theological significance: It means that His blood is universal in scope and
will bring all men to redemption.
Covenant Entry: He formally entered the Abrahamic covenant as a male
child of Israel
Prophetic Foreshadowing: His blood was first shed on the day pointing to
eternal covenant
Substitutionary Pattern: His blood would later be shed for the covenant of
all humanity
Priestly Qualification: As one circumcised according to the Law, He quali-
fied for priestly service
The Pattern of Blood Covenant
The shedding of blood on the eighth day established a pattern that would
culminate at Calvary:
Eighth Day Circumcision: Blood shed for entry into earthly covenant
Calvary Cross: Blood shed for entry into eternal covenant
Personal Covenant: His own entrance into the community of faith
Universal Covenant: His provision for all humanity’s entrance into eternal
life
The Theological Paradox
Yahshua’s circumcision presents a beautiful theological paradox: He who
would establish the new covenant by His own blood first entered the old
covenant through the shedding of His blood. He who would circumcise
hearts was first circumcised in flesh.
The Name Proclamation: Yahshua
The Angel’s Command Fulfilled
The name “Yahshua” was not chosen by Mary and Joseph but was com-
manded by the angel Gabriel:
“And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call
his name Yahshua” (Luke 1:31).
“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Yahshua: for he shall
save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).
The Meaning of Yahshua
The name “Yahshua” is a compound of two Hebrew elements:
• Yah - The shortened form of Yahweh’s name
• Shua - Meaning “salvation” or “to save”
Together, the name means “Yahweh saves” or “Yahweh is salvation.”
The Prophetic Timing of the Naming
The fact that this name was proclaimed on Shemini Atzeret—the day
pointing to ultimate salvation and eternal fellowship with Yahweh—was not
coincidental. The Last Great Day represents the final gathering of all na-
tions, the ultimate salvation of creation, and the eternal dwelling of Yahweh
with His people.
Proclaiming the name “Yahweh Saves” on this day was a prophetic decla-
ration of His ultimate mission and the final fulfillment of all salvation prom-
ises.
The Connection to Joshua
The name “Yahshua” is the same name borne by Joshua, Moses’ successor
who led Israel into the Promised Land. This connection is theologically sig-
nificant:
Earthly Joshua: Led Israel into the earthly Promised Land
Heavenly Yahshua: Leads spiritual Israel into the heavenly Promised Land
Earthly Conquest: Defeated the nations of Canaan
Spiritual Conquest: Defeats sin, death, and Satan
Temporal Rest: Provided rest in the land of Canaan
Eternal Rest: Provides eternal rest in the kingdom of Yahweh
The Perfect Prophetic Alignment
The Complete Pattern
When we examine the first week of Yahshua’s life, we discover perfect
alignment with Yahweh’s prophetic calendar:
Day 1 (First day of Tabernacles): Born when Yahweh comes to dwell with
His people
Days 2-7 (Continuing Tabernacles): The period of earthly dwelling and fel-
lowship
Day 8 (Shemini Atzeret): Covenant entry and naming, pointing to eternal
fellowship
This pattern encapsulates the entire redemptive plan:
• Birth of Messiah: Yahweh dwelling with humanity
• Earthly Ministry: The period of teaching and relationship
• Eternal Covenant: The establishment of eternal fellowship through
blood
The Impossible December Scenario
This prophetic precision makes a December birth timing completely im-
possible. Consider what December 25th timing would require:
December 25th Birth: No connection to any biblical festival
January 2nd Circumcision: No prophetic significance
Random Timing: No alignment with Yahweh’s redemptive calendar
Pagan Context: Birth during sun god celebrations rather than biblical ap-
pointments
The contrast could not be starker. Every detail of the biblical account
points to Tabernacles timing, while December timing explains none of the
prophetic patterns.
The Divine Orchestration
The alignment of Yahshua’s birth with Tabernacles and circumcision with
Shemini Atzeret demonstrates divine orchestration rather than human coin-
cidence. Every detail was planned to occur at prophetically significant mo-
ments within Yahweh’s appointed calendar.
The Theological Beauty of the Eighth Day
The Pattern for All Believers
Yahshua’s eighth-day circumcision establishes the pattern for all who fol-
low Him:
Physical Entry: He entered the physical covenant through circumcision
Spiritual Entry: Believers enter spiritual covenant through faith
Heart Circumcision: The circumcision that truly matters (Romans 2:29)
Eternal Perspective: All covenant relationship points toward eternal fellow-
ship
The Witness of Shemini Atzeret
The Festival of Ultimate Fulfillment
Shemini Atzeret represents the festival of ultimate fulfillment—the day
pointing beyond all temporal observances to eternal realities. Jewish tradi-
tion understands this day as representing the ultimate future when:
• All nations will be gathered to Yahweh
• Sorrow and crying will be removed
• Yahweh will dwell with His people forever
• The ultimate purpose of creation will be fulfilled
The Revelational Connection
The book of Revelation describes this ultimate reality:
“And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of Yahweh
is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and Yahweh
himself shall be with them, and be their Elohim. And Yahweh shall wipe away all
tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Reve-
lation 21:3-4).
This passage directly connects to the themes of both Tabernacles (Yahweh
dwelling with His people) and Shemini Atzeret (the ultimate gathering and
eternal fellowship).
The Prophetic Declaration
By being circumcised and named on Shemini Atzeret, Yahshua’s life from
its earliest moments declared the ultimate purpose of His mission: to estab-
lish eternal fellowship between Yahweh and humanity, to fulfill all covenant
promises, and to bring about the ultimate dwelling of Yahweh with His peo-
ple.
The Broader Pattern of Yahshua’s Life
Every Major Event Aligned with Mo’edim
Yahshua’s circumcision on Shemini Atzeret fits the broader pattern of His
life, where every major event occurred during one of Yahweh’s appointed
times:
Conception: Passover season - The beginning of redemption
Birth: Tabernacles - Yahweh dwelling with His people
Circumcision: Shemini Atzeret - Covenant and eternal perspective
Death: Passover - The ultimate Passover Lamb
Burial: Unleavened Bread - Putting away sin
Resurrection: Firstfruits - The guarantee of the full harvest
Spirit Outpouring: Pentecost - The new covenant established with the
Remnant only
The Prophetic Precision
This pattern demonstrates that Yahshua’s entire life was lived according
to Yahweh’s prophetic calendar. His birth and early life events were not ran-
dom occurrences but precisely timed fulfillments of biblical prophecy.
The Challenge to December Tradition
This prophetic precision challenges the December 25th tradition at its
foundation. If every other major event in Yahshua’s life occurred during bib-
lical festivals, why would His birth alone occur during a pagan celebration?
The evidence is overwhelming: Yahshua was born during Tabernacles and
circumcised during Shemini Atzeret, not born during Roman Saturnalia and
circumcised during the new year.
Conclusion: The Covenant Sealed in Appointed Time
What began in a sukkah on the first day of Tabernacles was sealed on the
Last Great Day. The pattern is unmistakable and beautiful: Yahshua’s birth,
His covenant entry, and even His naming all testify to the precision of Yah-
weh’s prophetic calendar.
The circumcision on the eighth day was far more than a religious ritual—
it was a prophetic declaration. On the very day that points to eternal fellow-
ship between Yahweh and His people, the One who would make that fellow-
ship possible entered covenant in His own flesh.
His blood was first shed on the day of ultimate covenant significance. His
name—”Yahweh Saves”—was proclaimed on the day pointing to ultimate
salvation. His entry into earthly covenant occurred on the day representing
eternal covenant.
Every detail aligns with divine purpose rather than human coincidence.
Every moment reflects prophetic fulfillment rather than cultural accommo-
dation. Every aspect demonstrates that Yahshua’s life was lived according to
heaven’s calendar, not earth’s traditions.
The Last Great Day is the feast of eternity—the day pointing to the gather-
ing of all nations, the removal of all sorrow, and the eternal dwelling of Yah-
weh with His people. That is the day Yahshua entered covenant in His flesh,
and that is the covenant He established for all who believe in His name.
The witness of Shemini Atzeret is clear: Yahshua was born to establish
eternal covenant, and His circumcision on the Last Great Day declared this
purpose from the eighth day of His earthly life.
“Behold, the tabernacle of Yahweh is with men, and he will dwell with them, and
they shall be his people, and Yahweh himself shall be with them, and be their Elo-
him” (Revelation 21:3).
This is the ultimate fulfillment toward which Shemini Atzeret points, and
this is the covenant that Yahshua entered and established through His own
blood—first shed on the Last Great Day, ultimately shed at Calvary.
Chapter 9 – A Call to Truth: The Choice Before Us
The Inherited Lie: Generations of Deception
For nearly seventeen centuries, the Christian church has perpetuated one
of history’s most successful deceptions. Generation after generation has
been taught, without question, that Yahshua the Messiah was born on De-
cember 25th. This “fact” has been woven into the very fabric of Christian
culture—sung in beloved carols, depicted in countless nativity scenes, cele-
brated in elaborate pageants, and proclaimed from countless pulpits.
Children grow up hearing this date proclaimed with the same authority as
Scripture itself. Sunday school lessons, Christmas plays, and holiday tradi-
tions all reinforce this supposed historical truth. The December 25th birth
date has become so deeply embedded in Christian consciousness that ques-
tioning it feels almost like questioning the Gospel itself.
But here lies the tragic irony: this date never came from Scripture. It
has no biblical foundation whatsoever. It was not revealed by prophets,
confirmed by apostles, or documented by Gospel writers. Instead, it came
from the very source that Scripture warns us against—the religious system
of ancient Babylon, mediated through Roman paganism and imposed upon
Christianity by imperial decree.
The Jeremianic Warning
The prophet Jeremiah spoke directly to this situation when he declared:
“Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?” (Jeremiah 16:19-20)
This prophecy finds its fulfillment in our generation. We have indeed in-
herited lies from our spiritual fathers—not through malice, but through the
gradual erosion of biblical truth by cultural accommodation. The December
25th tradition represents exactly what Jeremiah warned against: vanity and
things wherein there is no profit, religious practices that appear godly but
have no foundation in divine revelation.
The Mechanism of Deception
How did this deception take such deep root? Through a process that has
repeated throughout church history:
Gradual Introduction: Pagan practices were not imposed overnight but
introduced gradually through cultural accommodation and missionary prag-
matism.
Religious Justification: New Christian meanings were assigned to existing
pagan celebrations, making them appear biblically legitimate.
Institutional Authority: Church leaders endorsed these practices, giving
them official sanction and making opposition appear rebellious.
Generational Transmission: Each succeeding generation assumed these
practices were biblical because they had always been taught as such.
Cultural Integration: The practices became so deeply embedded in Chris-
tian culture that questioning them appeared to threaten Christianity itself.
The Authority of Tradition vs. Scripture
The December 25th tradition demonstrates how religious authority can
gradually shift from Scripture to tradition. What began as a practical accom-
modation to pagan culture eventually achieved the status of religious truth,
defended with the same vigor as biblical doctrine.
This shift represents a fundamental violation of the Reformation principle
of sola scriptura—Scripture alone as the ultimate authority for faith and prac-
tice. When tradition contradicts Scripture, believers must choose between
human authority and divine revelation.
The Truth of the Mo’edim: Biblical Evidence Summarized
This comprehensive study has demonstrated from multiple lines of bibli-
cal and historical evidence that Yahshua’s birth occurred during the Feast of
Tabernacles, not during the pagan winter solstice celebration. Let us review
the overwhelming evidence:
The Chronological Foundation
John the Baptist’s Birth: Based on the careful chronological calculation
from Zechariah’s priestly service during the course of Abijah, John was born
during the Passover season—the time of the lambs, perfectly fitting his role
as the one who would identify Yahshua as “the Lamb of Yahweh.”
The Six-Month Differential: Gabriel’s announcement to Mary occurred
when Elizabeth was exactly six months pregnant, establishing an unbreak-
able chronological link between the two miraculous births.
Yahshua’s Conception: Mary conceived Yahshua during the Passover sea-
son—the time of deliverance and covenant renewal—perfectly appropriate
for the birth of the ultimate Deliverer.
Nine-Month Gestation: Counting forward nine months from a spring con-
ception leads directly to a fall birth during the Feast of Tabernacles.
The Prophetic Alignment
Perfect Festival Fulfillment: Every major event in Yahshua’s life occurred
during one of Yahweh’s appointed times (moedim):
• Conception: Passover season (deliverance theme)
• Birth: Tabernacles (Yahweh dwelling with His people)
• Circumcision: Last Great Day (eternal covenant)
• Death: Passover (ultimate Passover Lamb)
• Burial: Unleavened Bread (putting away sin)
• Resurrection: Firstfruits (guarantee of full harvest)
• Spirit Outpouring: Pentecost (new covenant establishment)
The Tabernacles Connection: John 1:14 uses the specific Greek word es-
kenosen (tabernacled) to describe the birth, directly connecting Yahshua’s
birth to the Feast of Tabernacles.
The Light Theme: Yahshua was born during the Festival of Lights, when
Jerusalem blazed with Temple illumination, perfectly fitting His identity as
the “Light of the World.”
The Historical Context
Festival Crowds: The overcrowding in Bethlehem that prevented Joseph
and Mary from finding normal lodging is perfectly explained by the massive
pilgrimage crowds attending Tabernacles.
Seasonal Conditions: Fall weather permits the outdoor shepherding de-
scribed in Luke’s account, while December weather would make such activi-
ty unlikely.
The Sukkah Setting: Yahshua was born in a sukkah (temporary dwelling)
rather than a barn, perfectly fitting the Tabernacles requirement to dwell in
booths.
The Astronomical Sign: The Star of Bethlehem, likely the Jupiter-Saturn
conjunction of 7-6 BCE, occurred during the fall season when Yahshua was
born.
The Aramaic Witness
The Aurya: The Aramaic term for the manger (aurya) literally means “Light
of Yahweh,” providing additional testimony to Yahshua’s identity as the di-
vine Light entering the world.
This evidence is not circumstantial or speculative—it is comprehensive,
consistent, and compelling. Every detail of the biblical account points to
Tabernacles timing, while nothing in Scripture supports December dating.
The Counterfeit Story: Babylon’s Persistent Deception
Alongside Yahweh’s true narrative of redemption, Satan has crafted a mas-
terful counterfeit that has deceived billions. This false gospel, rooted in an-
cient Babylon, continues to be rehearsed annually by sincere believers who
unknowingly participate in the enemy’s narrative.
The Babylonian Trinity Revisited
The foundational myth that underlies all Christmas celebration derives from
the original Babylonian trinity:
Nimrod: The rebel king who defied Yahweh and established the first world
government in opposition to divine authority. After his death, he was deified
as the sun god, celebrated under various names throughout different cul-
tures (Baal, Marduk, Ra, Apollo, Sol Invictus, etc.).
Semiramis: Nimrod’s wife, who declared herself the “Queen of Heaven”
and claimed to have been miraculously impregnated by Nimrod’s spirit after
his death. She established the worship of the divine feminine principle that
would spread throughout all pagan religions.
Tammuz: The supposed divine child born of this miraculous conception,
whose death was mourned annually and whose “resurrection” was celebrat-
ed each spring. This counterfeit death-and-resurrection story became the
template for all pagan dying-and-rising god myths.
The Modern Rehearsal
Every Christmas celebration, regardless of sincere Christian intention, re-
hearses elements of this ancient Babylonian story:
December 25th: The birthday of the sun god, not the Son of Yahweh
Gift-giving: Roman Saturnalia traditions honoring pagan deities
Christmas trees: Sacred groves used in Druidic and Germanic paganism
Santa Claus: Derived from Germanic/Norse mythology mixed with corrupt-
ed Christian legend
Winter timing: Celebrates the “rebirth” of the sun during the darkest sea-
son
The Systematic Replacement
Satan’s strategy has been to systematically replace each of Yahweh’s ap-
pointed times with counterfeit celebrations:
Sabbath → Sunday: The day of the sun replacing Yahweh’s holy day
Passover → Easter: Fertility goddess worship replacing the remembrance of
deliverance
Pentecost → Various harvest festivals: Pagan celebrations replacing the
commemoration of Yahweh’s Spirit
Tabernacles → Christmas: Sun god birth replacing the celebration of Yah-
weh dwelling with His people
This replacement system ensures that believers who follow the church cal-
endar are automatically prevented from properly observing Yahweh’s ap-
pointed times. The timing conflicts force a choice between two competing
systems.
The Prophetic Fulfillment of Babylon
The book of Revelation prophesies about a final Babylonian system that will
seduce the nations:
“And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE
GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE
EARTH” (Revelation 17:5).
The “mother of harlots” represents the source system from which all false
religion springs. Modern Christmas celebration demonstrates how success-
fully this system has infiltrated Christianity, causing even sincere believers
to unknowingly participate in Babylonian religious practices.
The Call to Separation
Yahweh’s call to His people throughout Scripture is clear:
“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye re-
ceive not of her plagues” (Revelation 18:4).
This separation is not merely physical but spiritual—refusing to participate
in religious systems that blend truth with error, even when those systems
have been given Christian names and justifications.
Why Biblical Timing Matters: The Theology of Divine Appointments
Some sincere believers, when confronted with the evidence against Decem-
ber 25th, respond by saying, “Does it really matter when Yahshua was born?
The important thing is that He was born.” This response, while understand-
able, misses the profound theological significance of divine timing in re-
demptive history.
Yahweh’s Precision in Prophetic Fulfillment
Yahweh operates with absolute precision in fulfilling His prophetic plan.
Consider the exact timing of Yahshua’s redemptive work:
Passover Death: Yahshua died as the Passover Lamb on the exact day pre-
scribed by Yahweh’s Law (John 19:14). This was not approximate timing but
precise fulfillment.
Firstfruits Resurrection: He rose from the dead on the day of Firstfruits,
becoming “the firstfruits of them that slept” (1 Corinthians 15:20). Again,
the timing was precise, not approximate.
Pentecost Spirit: The Holy Spirit was poured out exactly fifty days after the
resurrection, on the appointed day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1). The timing ful-
filled biblical requirement perfectly.
If Yahweh was so precise in timing these redemptive events, it would be
theologically inconsistent to suggest that the birth—the foundational event
that made all other redemptive work possible—occurred at a random time
unrelated to His prophetic calendar.
The Principle of Divine Appointments
Yahweh established the principle of divine appointments (moedim) at cre-
ation itself:
“And Yahweh said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the
day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons [moedim], and for
days, and years” (Genesis 1:14).
These appointed times are not human conveniences but divine appoint-
ments—scheduled meetings between Yahweh and His people. To substitute
human traditions for divine appointments is to miss these scheduled en-
counters with the Creator.
The Rehearsal Principle
Each of Yahweh’s moedim serves as a rehearsal of redemptive truth. By ob-
serving these appointments, believers practice and internalize the great
themes of salvation:
Passover: Rehearses deliverance through substitutionary sacrifice
Unleavened Bread: Rehearses the putting away of sin and old ways
Firstfruits: Rehearses resurrection hope and new life
Pentecost: Rehearses the empowerment of Yahweh’s Spirit
Tabernacles: Rehearses Yahweh’s dwelling presence and ultimate kingdom
Last Great Day: Rehearses Eternity
When believers substitute Christmas for Tabernacles, they miss the oppor-
tunity to rehearse the profound truth of Yahweh dwelling among His peo-
ple. Instead, they rehearse the story of sun god worship—a fundamentally
different narrative with a fundamentally different spiritual impact.
The Generational Impact
The choice of which calendar to follow has profound generational conse-
quences. Children learn to understand time, seasons, and spiritual signifi-
cance through the lens of whichever calendar their families observe.
Yahweh’s Calendar: Teaches children to see history as His story, time as His
gift, and the calendar as His prophetic outline. Children raised in this sys-
tem learn to anticipate Yahweh’s appointed times and understand redemp-
tive history through biblical festivals.
Babylonian Calendar: Teaches children to see seasons as natural cycles,
holidays as cultural traditions, and spiritual meaning as human creation.
Children raised in this system learn to anticipate cultural celebrations that
have no connection to biblical truth.
The choice of calendar shapes not just individual spiritual formation but the
spiritual inheritance passed to future generations.
The Call to Decision: Two Paths Diverge
Having examined the comprehensive evidence, every believer now fac-
es a crucial decision. This is not a minor theological preference or cultural
choice—it represents a fundamental question about spiritual authority and
truth.
The Evidence is Conclusive
The evidence against December 25th is overwhelming and undeniable:
No Biblical Support: Not one verse of Scripture places Yahshua’s birth in
December
Pagan Origins: December 25th derives entirely from sun god worship
Historical Documentation: The first Christian sources connecting this date
to Yahshua appear over 300 years after His birth
Logical Impossibility: The biblical details (shepherds, census, travel condi-
tions) make December timing impossible
Prophetic Contradiction: December timing breaks the pattern of Yahshua’s
life aligning with Yahweh’s moedim
The Evidence for Tabernacles is Compelling
Conversely, the evidence for Tabernacles timing is comprehensive and con-
sistent:
Chronological Precision: Based on documented priestly service and preg-
nancy timing
Prophetic Fulfillment: Aligns with the pattern of Yahshua’s life fulfilling
Yahweh’s festivals
Biblical Testimony: John 1:14 directly connects the birth to tabernacling
Historical Context: Explains all the circumstances described in the Gospel
accounts
Theological Appropriateness: Celebrates Yahweh dwelling with His people
rather than sun god birth
The Choice Cannot Be Avoided
Some attempt to avoid this choice by claiming both celebrations are accept-
able—Christmas for cultural reasons and Tabernacles for biblical reasons.
But this compromise position fails to recognize the fundamental incompati-
bility of the two systems.
Timing Conflict: The festivals occur at different times, preventing simulta-
neous observance
Story Conflict: Christmas rehearses Babylonian mythology while Taberna-
cles rehearses biblical truth
Authority Conflict: Christmas follows human tradition while Tabernacles
follows divine appointment
Spiritual Conflict: Christmas accommodates pagan culture while Taberna-
cles separates from it
The choice is binary: Will you follow Yahweh’s calendar or Babylon’s calen-
dar? Will you rehearse His story or the enemy’s counterfeit?
The Elijah Challenge Revisited
The prophet Elijah faced a similar moment when Israel attempted to serve
both Yahweh and Baal:
“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two
opinions? if Yahweh be Elohim, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the
people answered him not a word” (1 Kings 18:21).
Israel’s silence revealed their attempt to avoid choosing. They wanted to
serve Yahweh while maintaining their cultural accommodation to Baal wor-
ship. But Elijah’s challenge made clear that such compromise was impossi-
ble—they had to choose.
The same choice faces modern believers: If Yahweh is truly sovereign over
time and redemptive history, then follow His calendar and observe His ap-
pointments. But if cultural tradition and human authority take precedence,
then continue following the festivals of Babylon.
The Cost of Truth
Choosing biblical truth over cultural tradition comes with costs:
Family Tension: Relatives may not understand the decision to abandon
Christmas celebration
Social Isolation: Friends and church members may view the choice as ex-
treme or divisive
Cultural Displacement: Stepping away from dominant cultural patterns can
feel isolating
Financial Impact: Refusing Christmas participation may affect business
relationships
Educational Challenges: Teaching children biblical truth in a Christ-
mas-saturated culture requires intentionality
These costs are real and should not be minimized. But they pale in compari-
son to the cost of continuing to rehearse lies and pass them to future gener-
ations.
The Blessing of Truth
While choosing truth involves costs, it also brings profound blessings:
Spiritual Authenticity: Worship becomes aligned with biblical revelation
rather than human tradition
Prophetic Understanding: Observing Yahweh’s moedim provides insight
into His redemptive plan
Family Heritage: Children receive authentic biblical tradition rather than
Christianized paganism
Community Fellowship: Connection with others who are also returning to
biblical truth
Divine Favor: Yahweh promises blessing to those who honor His appointed
times
“Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that
keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil”
(Isaiah 56:2).
The Joy of Truth: Tabernacles vs. Christmas
One of the most common concerns about abandoning Christmas is the fear
of losing joy and celebration. This concern reflects a fundamental misunder-
standing of both the nature of truth and the character of Yahweh’s festivals.
The Feast of Joy
Tabernacles is explicitly called “the season of our joy” (z’man simchateinu) in
Jewish tradition. It was the most joyful and celebratory of all biblical festi-
vals, characterized by:
Abundant Celebration: Seven days of feasting, singing, and rejoicing
Light and Beauty: The Temple blazed with magnificent illumination
Community Fellowship: Families and communities gathered for shared cel-
ebration
Harvest Gratitude: Thanksgiving for Yahweh’s provision throughout the
year
Prophetic Hope: Anticipation of Yahweh’s ultimate dwelling with His peo-
ple
The Mishnah records: “He who has not seen the rejoicing of the wa-
ter-drawing has never seen rejoicing in his life” (Sukkah 5:1). This was not
religious duty but genuine, exuberant celebration.
The Authentic vs. the Artificial
The joy of Christmas, while real to those who experience it, is ultimately ar-
tificial because it is built on false foundations. When celebration is based on
lies, the joy is temporary and superficial.
In contrast, the joy of Tabernacles is authentic because it celebrates real
truth:
Historical Reality: Yahweh actually did dwell with Israel in the wilderness
Present Truth: Yahweh continues to dwell with His people through His
Spirit
Prophetic Certainty: Yahweh will ultimately dwell with His people in the
new creation
Personal Experience: Believers can experience Yahweh’s presence in real
time
The Restoration of Biblical Celebration
Choosing Tabernacles over Christmas does not diminish joy—it restores
authentic joy. Instead of celebrating a mythological sun god’s birth, families
celebrate the actual birth of Yahshua during Yahweh’s appointed time.
Instead of rehearsing Babylonian stories, children learn the true account of
Messiah’s birth according to biblical chronology. Instead of cultural accom-
modation, families experience spiritual authenticity.
The Prophetic Dimension
Tabernacles carries a prophetic dimension that Christmas lacks. During the
Millennium, all nations will observe Tabernacles:
“And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came
against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, Yahweh
of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles” (Zechariah 14:16).
By observing Tabernacles now, believers anticipate and prepare for the ul-
timate fulfillment when Yahshua will tabernacle among all peoples in His
kingdom.
A Final Word: The Light Has Come
The truth has been revealed. After centuries of darkness, the light of bib-
lical chronology has broken through the traditions of men. The evidence is
clear, comprehensive, and undeniable: Yahshua was not born on December
25th during a pagan sun festival, but during the biblical Feast of Tabernacles
when Yahweh comes to dwell among His people.
The Moment of Decision
This revelation creates a moment of decision for every believer. Having seen
the evidence, neutrality is no longer possible. You must choose between:
Truth or Tradition: Biblical evidence or inherited assumptions
Scripture or Culture: Divine revelation or human accommodation
Yahweh’s Calendar or Babylon’s: Appointed times or pagan festivals
Authentic or Artificial: Real joy based on truth or temporary joy based on
lies
The Generational Responsibility
This choice affects not only individual believers but future generations.
What you choose to teach your children about Yahshua’s birth will shape
their understanding of:
Biblical Authority: Whether Scripture or tradition has final authority
Spiritual Authenticity: Whether worship is based on truth or accommoda-
tion
Prophetic Understanding: Whether they learn to anticipate Yahweh’s ap-
pointed times
Cultural Separation: Whether they learn to distinguish biblical truth from
cultural tradition
The decision you make today becomes the spiritual inheritance you leave for
your children and grandchildren.
The Promise of Restoration
Yahweh is calling His people back to His ways in these last days. Around the
world, believers are awakening to the truth about His appointed times and
abandoning the traditions that have separated them from His festivals.
This awakening is not coincidental—it aligns with biblical prophecy about
end-times restoration:
“And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the chil-
dren to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse” (Malachi 4:6).
Part of this restoration involves returning to the biblical calendar that con-
nects generations through authentic observance of Yahweh’s moedim rather
than Babylon’s counterfeits.
The Ultimate Reality
The book of Revelation describes the ultimate reality toward which all bibli-
cal celebration points:
“And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of Yahweh
is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and Yahweh
himself shall be with them, and be their Elohim. And Yahweh shall wipe away all
tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Reve-
lation 21:3-4).
This is the ultimate fulfillment of Tabernacles—when Yahweh will perma-
nently tabernacle among His people in the new heaven and new earth. By
celebrating Yahshua’s birth during the biblical Feast of Tabernacles, believ-
ers anticipate and prepare for this ultimate reality.
The Call to Light
Yahshua was born to tabernacle with us. His nativity was not in Babylon’s
counterfeit feast but in Yahweh’s appointed time. The evidence is over-
whelming, the choice is clear, and the time for decision has come.
Will you continue walking in the inherited lie of December 25th, or will you
step into the light of biblical truth? Will you continue rehearsing Babylon’s
story, or will you begin celebrating Yahweh’s appointed time?
The light has broken through the darkness of tradition. The truth has been
revealed through careful study of Scripture and history. The choice now be-
longs to you.
Let us walk in that light, and let us teach it to our children. Let us abandon
the festivals of Babylon and return to the appointments of Yahweh. Let us
celebrate Messiah’s birth when He was actually born—during the Feast of
Tabernacles, when the Word was made flesh and tabernacled among us.
“And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not”
(John 1:5).
The light of truth has shined. Will you comprehend it and walk in it, or will
you remain in the darkness of inherited tradition?
The choice is yours. Choose wisely, for eternal destinies hangs in the bal-
ance.
“Choose you this day whom ye will serve... but as for me and my house, we will
serve Yahweh” (Joshua 24:15).
