Shane Vaughn2017-04-15Leviticus 23:10–21Series: Counting the Omer

Counting the Omer Part 1 introduces the period following Unleavened Bread as a neglected part of the congregation's festival journey. Vaughn describes the seven-week count as a “waiting feast” intended to teach believers how to wait for Yahweh ... appointed time rather than becoming discouraged by apparent delay. Vaughn starts with Leviticus 23:1–15 and argues that Passover, Unleavened Bread, and Firstfruits occur consecutively and therefore ... should not overlap. On that basis, he maintains that beginning the Omer on the Sunday occurring during Unleavened Bread is incorrect. Dr. Vaughn Teaches; Counting th… He then develops an extensive eighth-day pattern, explicitly moving through Leviticus

  Shane Vaughn2018-05-30Leviticus 23:15Series: N/A

This teaching examines the timing of the Omer count and the observance of Shavuot. Using Leviticus 23 and a series of biblical examples involving circumcision, sanctification, temple cleansing, and resurrection patterns, Vaughn argues that Yahweh consistently works through an eighth ... principle of acceptance and purification. The message concludes that the Omer count should begin after the completion of Unleavened Bread on the eighth day following Messiah's resurrection, resulting in a later observance of Shavuot than is commonly practiced
